Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 13 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

          In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 13 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 13 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public  place. Both later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-17= 2 cases, PS-19 = 1 case, PS-IT Park= 2 cases, PS-31 = 1 case, PS-36 = 1 case, PS-34 = 1 case, PS-39 = 5 cases. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Gurpreet Singh R/o # 4421/5, Commando Complex, Ph-11 Mohali, (PB), Kanwarpreet Singh R/o # 613 Ph-4 Mohali, (PB), Ajay Kumar R/o # 1505 Adarsh Nagar, Naya Gaon, Mohali, (PB), Surinder Singh R/o # 5442 Maloya Colony, Chd, Mohit Kumar R/o # 1095 Sec 43, Chd, Mukesh Sharma R/o # 1554 Sec 36D Chd, Sachin R/o # 9748/1 New Swaraj Nagar, Kharar, (PB), while they were gambling at H.No. 15, Sector 21C, Chandigarh on 19.01.2019. Total cash Rs. 60,000/- and playing cards were recovered from them. In this regard, a case FIR No. 12, U/S 3, 4 Punjab Gambling Act 1867 has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Later they were released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 17, U/S 279, 337 added 304A IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh on the statement of Nand Lal R/o near PNB Village Kansal, Mohali, (PB) against driver of Truck No. PB65X-4051 namely Randhir Singh R/o Village Fatehpur, Sector-20, Panchkula, (HR) who hit to M/Cycle No. PB65AE-5837 driven by Jaswinder Singh R/o Village Chasma, PS Mullapur, Distt Mohali (PB) age 35 years at road leading dividing road Sector-3/10, Chandigarh on 18.01.2019. M/Cyclist got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh where he was declared brought dead. Truck driver arrested and later bailed out.  Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 16, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the statement of Ashwani Kumar R/o # 1637/1 near Kila, Manimajra Chandigarh against driver of unknown vehicle who sped away after hitting to pedestrian person (unidentified) near Sukhna Petrol Pump, Ph-1, Ind. Area, Chandigarh on 19.01.2019. Pedestrian person got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh where he was declared unfit for statement. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 20, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh on the statement of a lady resident of Sector 49, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of unknown vehicle sped away after hitting Complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH76(T)-4724 near light point, Sector-46/47/48/49, Chandigarh on 18.01.2019. Complainant got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

          A lady resident of EWS Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh alleged that 2 unknown persons occupant of M/Cycle sped away after snatching her mobile phone near PNB Bank, Dhanas Market, Chandigarh on 18.01.2019. A case FIR No. 16, U/S 356, 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

          Akshay Kumar R/o # 2019, Sector 19C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH01AZ-0806 while parked near Grewal Eye Institute, Sector-9, Chandigarh on 18.01.2019. A case FIR No. 18, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

          Ved Parkash Verma R/o # 478 Shivalik Vihar, Naya Gaon (PB) reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Activa Scooter No. PB65AD-5941 while parked near Nivedita Hostel Parking, PGI, Chandigarh on 09.01.2019. A case FIR No. 11, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

          A girl Sector-29/B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH-01AZ-9947 while parked near Nehru Park Sector-22, Chandigarh on 19.01.2019. A case FIR No. 21, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Tarundeep R/o # 3262, Sector 27D, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Splendor M/Cycle No. CH01AL-8797 while parked near Library, Sector 34, Chandigarh on 06.01.2019. A case FIR No. 27, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Manjot Singh R/o # 67, DMC, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Mastero Scooty No. CH01BL-7708 while parked near his house on 16.01.2019. A case FIR No. 08, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
