Police on high alert on X-Mas

The Christmas is being celebrated on 25-12-2018 at various Churches/ Venues of the city. Keeping in the present security scenario and recently incident occurred at Nirankari Bhawan, Amritsar during religious function, Chandigarh Police is very much concerned to maintain the communal harmony and for the safety of the people and to provide full proof security especially during the religious programme. The main celebration will be at Church, Sec-8, Church Sec-9, Church Sec-44 and Church Sector-24, Chandigarh. Adequate Police, security and traffic arrangements have been made for the proper maintenance of law & order at all the places by deploying DSPs-03, SHOs/Inprs-16 and NGOs/ORs/L-ORs-564.

        In addition to this, 42 floating nakas, 03 additional QRTs, 16 Police Station wise Alco-censor and 4/Divya Drishti CCTV cameras at different places being deployed for effective arrangements. Patrolling of PCR vehicles / Cheetah being intensified in the city especially around the churches, busy markets and malls etc. Special Anti-Sabotage check and DFMDs/HHMDs being installed at churches from anti explosive / sabotage point of view. QRT teams of operation cell have been kept on high alert. Elaborate traffic arrangements at and around all the main churches also being made.
