Chandigarh Police arrested 5 snatchers claim to solve snatching cases

In a major breakthrough the Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police under the supervision of DSP Pawan Kumar team headed by Inspector Amanjot Singh is able to arrest the five persons who are involved in recent snatchings and auto lifting from Chandigarh.

Profile of accused.

1.      Dharambir @ Pittal S/o Sh. Surajpal R/o Vill. Naraini, PS- Bilsi,    Distt. Badaun, UP.

•      Shish Pal S/o sh. Mohar Singh R/o Vill. Lohgarh, Tehsil   Zirakpur, Distt. Mohali, PB.

•      Bharat S/o Sh. Suraj Pal R/o Vill. Lohgarh, Zirakpur, Distt. Mohali, PB permanent add. Vill. Naraini, Tehsil Bilsi, Distt.       Badaun, UP.

On 16.12.18 a secret information was received that the above said accused persons were involved in several cases of vehicle lifting presently. On the basis of secret information the naka was laid near Shastri Nagar Light point Manimajra and apprehended above said three accused were arrested. From them total 7 two wheelers were recovered out of these three, two of them namely Shish Pal and Dharamvir @ Pittal were PO in three cases of theft.

•      Dushyant Kumar @ Abhay S/o Lal Bahadur R/o Vill. Bisara          Paschim, Tehsil Mussafirkhana Distt. Amethi, UP.

On 19.12.18 on the basis of secret information another two accused namely Ranjit Yadav and Dushyant Kumar @ Abhay were arrested from 42/43,52/53, Chowk and from them two snatched mobile phones one stolen bike and one more bike which they have stolen from Mohali were recovered. From all the five accused total 13 cases were worked out. Out of which 2 are snatching and 8 are of vehicle theft and 3 are PO arrested.

Modus Operandi

          Accused Dharamvir Singh @ Pittal and Shishpal used to steal bikes and then further used to park them in different parking lots till they find appropriate customers for these bikes and accused Ranjit Yadav and Dushyant Kumar @ Abhay they used to commit snatching in Chandigarh and Mohali and for this they have stolen one bike from Chandigarh, on which they were committing these snatching.

Previous history of the accused.

          Accused Dharamvir Singh @ Pittal and Shishpal both have tainted past and was previously involved in several cases of theft and burglary and even have been declared PO in three cases.

          All the accused have been sent to judicial custody.
