Amritsar blast: localites involved claim agencies

There is unrest after the demise of Satguru Baba Hardev Singh and his younger son in law Avneet Setia as most of the sangat wants probe into the matter

Investigations into grande explosion on Nov 18 in Amritsar Nirankari Bhavan rule out involvement of any militant group. Rather the local youths are behind the activity.

Eye witnesses told the police that the masked youth were well versed in local dialect.

Intelligence agencies are of the view that there is no tension between the two sects. As per the reliable sources from the mission there is unrest after the demise of Satguru Baba Hardev Singh and his younger Son in law Avneet Setia as most of the sangat wants probe into the matter. On the condition of anonymity a satsang member said that it may be the act by certain elements who want to divert sangat’s mind from the demand of probe.

Although Chief Minister Capt Amrinder Singh had earlier told the media that Pak agencies were behind the attack yet he refused to relate the attack to April, 1978 Sikh Nirankari Conflict. On April 13, 1978 the Nirankari Samagam was attacked by some Sikh radicals where 13 sikhs and 3 Nirankaris were killed and subsequently led to terrorism in the state.
