Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 14 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 14 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 15 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-03 = 1 case, PS-11 = 2 cases, PS-17 = 2 cases, PS-SPR = 2 cases,  PS-IA = 1 case, PS-MM = 1 case, PS-ITP = 2 cases,  PS-31 = 2 cases,  PS-36 = 1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Maya Ram R/o # 213/1, Shastri Nagar, Mani Majra, Chandigarh from near Fish Market, Mani Majra, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 72 quarters of Country made liquor on 20.10.2018. A case FIR No. 276, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Atul Sharma R/o Village-Gouharta, Distt-Mandi (HP) near dividing road, Sector 48/49, Chandigarh and recovered 30 gram Heroine and 30 Injections of Buprenorphine & Pheniramine Meleate drugs from his possession. A case FIR No. 204, U/S 21 & 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Hurt

A case FIR No. 311, U/S 324 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of Amandeep Singh R/o # 221 Village-Daria, Chandigarh who alleged that Manoj @ Pintu R/o # 222 Village-Daria, Chandigarh attacked on complainant with knife near his residence on 20.10.2018. Complainant got injured admitted in Civil Hospital, Manimajra, Chandigarh. Alleged person has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 307, U/S 324, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sandeep R/o # 77, Village Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh who alleged that 2/3 unknown persons attacked on complainant with sharp weapon near Gurudwara, Raipur Kalan, Chandigarh on 19.10.2018. Complainant got injured admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 403, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh on the complaint of Mohit R/o # 83, Ph-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of Canter No HR-38S-1085 namely Ajit R/o Vill-Jhandhar, Distt-Manpuri (UP) hit to complainant’s M/Cycle No. CH01AK6953 and another Bullet M/Cycle No. CH-01BR-2307 near Light point Hallo Majra, Chandigarh on 20.10.2018. Complainant got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Driver of Canter arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 372, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the statement of Amrik Singh R/o # 1591, Sector-22/B, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of car No PB-65AT-3938 namely Manish Jindal R/o # 2697 Ph-7 Mohali (PB) hit to complainant’s car No. PB-06AN-7007 and another Nano car No. HR3L6286 near Light point Sector 34/35, Chandigarh on 19.10.2018. Resultantly, another two car Nos. PB-10EX4621 & CH-01AR1416 got damaged. Alleged driver of car has been arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
