Elections to five Assemblies from Nov. 12 to Dec 7; results on Dec. 11


Polling dates: November 12 and 20 (Chhattisgarh); November 28 (Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram) and December 7 (Rajasthan and Telangana


The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday announced the election schedule to five States – Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.

Polling would be held in two phases in Chhattisgarh and in single phase in the other States, said Chief Election Commissioner O.P. Rawat at a press conference in New Delhi. All the results will be out on December 11.

Madhya Pradesh

Polling in single phase in 230 constituencies

Date of filing of nominations: November 7

Last date for withdrawal of nominations: November 14

Polling day: November 28

Chhattisgarh

First phase Southern Part-18 constituencies  (LWE-affected areas)

Date of filing of nominations: October 16

Last date for withdrawal of nominations: October 23

Last date for withdrawal of nominations: October 26

Polling day: November 12

Second phase -72 constituencies

Polling date: November 20

Rajasthan and Telangana

Polling in single phase

Date of filing of nominations: November 12

Last date for withdrawal of nominations: November 22

Polling day: December 7

Mizoram

Date of filing of nominations: November 7

Last date for withdrawal of nominations: November 14

Polling day: November 28
