अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मंच पर भारत कि उभरती तस्वीर कांग्रेस को हजम नहीं हो रही. पहले तो कांग्रेसी प्रवक्ता भारतीय मतदाताओं कि बुद्धि पर ही कटाक्ष करते थे अब वह अन्तराष्ट्रीय मंच संचालकों कि बुद्धि पर भी तंज़ कसने लग पड़े हैं,

रणदीप सुरजेवाला ने कहा, ऐसा लगता है कि मोदी ‘चैंपियन ऑफ अनर्थ’ साबित हुए हैं.

कांग्रेस ने दिल्ली-उत्तर प्रदेश सीमा पर किसानों पर बल प्रयोग को लेकर बुधवार को प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी पर निशाना साधा और कहा कि संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने मोदी को ‘चैंपियन ऑफ अर्थ’ का पुरस्कार दिया है, लेकिन किसानों पर लाठी चलवाकर वह ‘चैंपियन ऑफ अनर्थ’ साबित हुए हैं.

पार्टी के मुख्य प्रवक्ता रणदीप सुरजेवाला ने कहा, ‘ऐसा लगता है कि देश की मोदी सरकार किसान मुक्त भारत का निर्माण करने में जुटी है. मोदी जी चैंपियन ऑफ अनर्थ साबित हुए हैं, जो धरती पुत्र को मारे वह धरती का चैंपियन नहीं नहीं हो सकता.’ दरअसल, प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने अपना सर्वोच्च पर्यावरण सम्मान ‘चैंपियन ऑफ द अर्थ’ प्रदान किया है.

उन्होंने कहा, ‘मोदी जी, भगोड़ों को देते हैं नोट और किसानों को देते हैं लाठी की चोट. अब तो देश के हर कोने से यही स्वर सुनाई देता है-नरेंद्र मोदी, किसान विरोधी.’ सुरजेवाला ने कहा, ‘मोदी सरकार में कई बार किसानों पर लाठियां और गोलियां चलाईं गई हैं. अब तो यह रोजाना की बात हो गई है.’

सुरजेवाला ने कहा, ‘किसानों को एक बार फिर झूठे वादों को टोकरी पकड़ा दी गई. यह सरकार कब तक किसानों को ठगेगी? प्रधानमंत्री जी जवाब दें.’ उन्होंने सवाल किया, ‘एमएसपी का वादा जुमला क्यों बन गया? जब चार साल में बड़े उद्योगपतियों के 3.17 लाख करोड़ रुपए का कर्ज माफ किया तो 62 करोड़ लोगों का कर्ज माफ क्यों नहीं किया जा सकता?’

कांग्रेस नेता ने पूछा, ‘यूरिया और खाद की कीमतें बढ़ाकर किसानों पर अत्याचार क्यों? डीजल की कीमत लगातार बढ़कर किसान की कमर क्यों तोड़ रहे हैं?’

कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता दिग्विजय सिंह ने बहुजन समाज पार्टी (बीएसपी) की अध्यक्ष मायावती के उनपर लगाए आरोपों को खारिज किया है.

दिग्विजय सिंह ने कहा, ‘मैं पहले ही साफ कर चुका हूं कि मैं मायावती का सम्मान करता हूं. मैं कांग्रेस और बीएसपी के बीच गठबंधन का समर्थक हूं. छत्तीसगढ़ में गठबंधन को लेकर बात हो रही थी लेकिन वो (मायावती) इसके लिए तैयार नहीं हुईं. मध्य प्रदेश में भी कांग्रेस और बीएसपी के बीच गठबंधन को लेकर बातचीत चल रही थी लेकिन यहां उन्होंने 22 सीटों पर अपने उम्मीदवारों का ऐलान कर दिया.’

बीजेपी का एजेंट होने के आरोपों पर दिग्विजय सिंह ने कहा, ‘मैं नरेंद्र मोदी, अमित शाह, बीजेपी और आरएसएस का सबसे बड़ा आलोचक हूं. राहुल गांधी कांग्रेस के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष हैं, हम सभी उनके आदेशों का पालन करेंगे.’

इससे पहले बुधवार को ही मायावती ने प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस कर कहा था कि ‘कांग्रेस घमंडी हो गई है और उसे गलतफहमी है कि वो बीजेपी को अकेले अपने दम पर हरा देगी. लेकिन सच्चाई यह है कि लोग कांग्रेस को उसकी गलतियों और भ्रष्टाचार के लिए भूले नहीं हैं.’

बीएसपी अध्यक्ष ने कहा, ‘दिग्विजय सिंह जो बीजेपी के एजेंट हैं. उन्होंने बयान  दिया है कि मायावती को केंद्र की तरफ से प्रेशर है इसलिए वो गठबंधन करना नहीं चाहतीं. यह निराधार है. दिग्विजय सिंह जैसे कांग्रेसी नेता नहीं चाहते कि कांग्रेस-बीएसपी का गठबंधन हो. वो सीबीआई, ईडी की तरह डरे हुए हैं.’

बीएसपी चीफ मायावती ने बुधवार को कहा कि बीएसपी राजस्थान और मध्य प्रदेश चुनाव अकेली लड़ेगी. इन चुनावों में बीएसपी कांग्रेस से गठबंधन नहीं करेगी.

इसके साथ ही उन्होंने कहा, ‘कांग्रेस पार्टी आज चुनाव में मुसलमानों को उम्मीदवार बनाने से डर सकती है, लेकिन बसपा ऐसा नहीं करती.

CIC issued notice to RPFO for ‘Maximum Penalty’ and Rs. 25 Lakh compensation to 76 year old

Central Information Commissioner (CIC) issued Show Cause Notices to the Public Authority (EPFO) for Rs 25 lakh Compensation to the Pensioner and also for “maximum penalty” to the CPIO, Regional Office  

October 3, 2018:

The Central Information Commissioner (CIC) has issued show cause notice to CPIO of Regional Provident Fund Office (RPFO) for “maximum penalty” and award of Rs 25 lakh compensation to a 76 year old pensioner to whom information regarding pensioners, pensionable service etc was not provided despite repeated requests.

CIC M Sridhar Acharyulu passed the order in the “pathetic case of Mr. Subhash Chandra Banerjee (76 yrs), who is seriously ill and almost on death-bed (in Kolkata), whose case was pursued by a former General Manager of Haryana Tourism Corporation (HTC), Chandigarh Parveen Kohli.

The appellant Mr Parveen Kohli sought information under RTI Act, 2005, on behalf of Mr. Subhash Chandra Banerjee, about number and details of pensioners whose pensionable service for pension fixation/calculation has been treated as the total of past service i.e. prior to 16.11.1995 and service beyond 16.11.1995 as per orders of District Consumer Forums, State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and courts of law, details of all such cases relating to issue above and list of cases and orders, copy of complete relevant files i.e. correspondence pages along with noting pages containing all the relevant documents in above cases.

According to detailed order of the CIC, the CPIO of RPFO, Kolkata replied that no such cases are available with the legal cell and provided the copy of only noting sought in point no. 6. The 1st Appellate Authority stated that the CPIO has not denied the information sought but the information was voluminous in nature.

76 year old Banerjee is seriously ill and suffering from Ischemic Heart Disease with Epilepsy with Cerebral Hge, Hyper depression, Seizure disorder, Lumber-1 Compression fracture. He joined service in 1969 and retired from service in 2002 and he was entitled to receive monthly pension from EPFO under EPS95 Scheme w.e.f 5.8.2000.

The Commission directed Mr. J. Nayak, CPIO and concerned RPFC to a) provide certified copies of the entire file concerning Mr. Subhash Chandra Banerjee’s pension, before 15th October 2018 free of cost.

 

The CIC also asked Nayak to explain why the order of National Consumer Commission in Banerjee’s case was not implemented, when will it be implemented and also inform which officer is responsible for denial of pension to Banerjee and what action was taken against for non-compliance of the order of National Consumer Commission.

 

The Commissioner also asked CPIO to explain legal reasons, policy with documents, why entire pension amount of Banerjee was confiscated and he was deprived of his pension since 2000 and also inform by what time his pension will be restored, arrears paid with interest to Banerjee.

The Commission directed Mr. J. Nayak, CPIO to show-cause why maximum penalty should not be imposed upon him for not furnishing complete information sought within stipulated time.

“The Public Authority shall explain why it should not be directed to pay Rs 25 lakh as compensation to Mr. Subhash Chandra Banerjee for harassment, denial and deprivation, the 9 page order said.

The Commission directed the RPFC who is also first public authority, to enquire into this harassment, initiate efforts to redress the grievance and inform the Commission, Mr. Banerjee and appellant when his amount will be paid.

All responses shall reach before 15.10.2018, and the matter is posted for compliance and penalty proceedings on 15.10.2018 at 12:30 p.m, the CIC M. Sridhar Acharyulu, ordered.

मोगीनन्द, पंचकुला के जी.औ.मैस में अतिरिक्त पुलिस महानिदेशक, कानून एंव व्यवस्था श्री मोहम्मद अकिल, भा.पु.से. द्वारा  हरियाणा के सभी जिलों से आए पुलिस अधिक्षक, यातायात एंव प्रबन्धक थाना, यातायात की समीक्षा बैठक आयोजित की गई।
बैठक की अध्यक्षता करते हुए श्री मोहम्मद अकिल ने कहा कि जैसे-जैसे शहरीकरण बढ़ रहा है वैसे-वैसे सडक़ सुरक्षा की चुनौती बढ़ती जा रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि यातायात प्रबध्ंान में तैनात पुलिस कर्मियों की वर्दी अच्छी होनी चाहिए। पुलिस कर्मियों का व्यवहार अच्छा होना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि आज सडक़ दुुर्घटनाओं में सुरक्षा निरपराध लोग मारे जा रहे है। उन्होंने कहा कि यातायात व्यवस्था यदि बेहतर होती है व सडक़ पर जाम नहीं होता तो समाज में पुलिस के प्रति अच्छा सन्देश जाता है। कोई विद्यार्थी/शिक्षक स्कूल के लिए लेट हो रहा है तो कोई नागरिक अस्पताल, कचहैरी जा रहा है तो ऐसे में बेहतर यातायात की अपेक्षाओं पर पुलिस कर्मियों को खड़ा होना होगा। उन्होने कहां कि यातायात जाम से देश की आर्थिक क्षति हो रही है व अतिरिक्त ईघन जलता है। उन्होंने कहा कि सडक़ पर छोटे-2 रेहडी और अन्य कारणों से जाम न लगे यह सभी पुलिस कर्मियों को सुनिश्चित करना है और समुचे राज्य शिक्षण सस्थाओं, विद्यार्थियों/शिक्षकों को पे्ररित करके सडक़ सुरक्षा प्रश्नोतरी प्रतियोगिता में रिकार्ड भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करनी है। वर्ष 2018-19 सडक़ सुरक्षा प्रश्नोतरी के लिए तिथियों का एलान किया। प्रथम चरण 23 अक्तुबर, द्वितीय चरण 12 नवम्बर, तृतीय चरण 27 दिसम्बर चतुर्थ चरण जनवरी में होगा। बैठक के आरम्भ में स्वागत करते हुए पुलिस महानिरीक्षक, यातायात एंव हाईवे, हरियाणा डा. राजश्री सिंह ने कहा कि युवाओं को पे्ररित करने के लिए चौराहों पर आडियों सी डी चलाई जाएगी। उन्होंने कहा कि विद्यार्थियों के लिए प्रश्नोतरी पुस्तिका की साफ्ट कॉपी सभी शिक्षण संस्थाओं को उपलब्ध कराई जाएगी। उन्होंने कहा कि यह अभियान समाज के सभी वर्गो को सडक़ सुरक्षा अभियान से जोडऩे की मुहिम है। उन्होंने सभी पुलिस कर्मियों को हिदायत दी की सभी ब्लैक स्पाट ठीक किए जाए। बैठक में उप पुलिस अधीक्षक, श्री मुनीश सहगल ने सडक़ सुरक्षा प्रश्नोतरी एक अभियान शीर्षक पर प्रजनटेशन दिखाई। जिसमें वर्ष 2013 से 2018 तक के अभियान को विस्तार से दिखाया गया। विज्ञानिक एंव सहायक निदेशक, डा. अजय कुमार ने कहा कि विद्यार्थियों के लिए सडक़ सुरक्षा जैसे विषय में साक्षात्कार है। इस अभियान के माध्यम से विद्यार्थियों के मन में सही दिशा में चलने कि भावना जागृत होगी। इस अवसर पर कार्यालय पुलिस महानिरीक्षक, यातायात एंव हाईवे से निरीक्षक गुरमीत सिंह, सजय कुमार, उप निरीक्षक बिजेन्द्र सिंह, सहायक उप निरीक्षक, कुलबीर सिंह, प्रदीप कुमार, कर्मबीर, वजीर सिंह व मुख्य सिपाही मलिक राज इत्यादि उपस्थित रहे।

प्रदेश को न्युमोनिया मुक्त बनाने कि तैयारियां शुरू

स्वास्थ्य विभाग द्वारा जन्म से एक वर्ष तक की आयु के बच्चों को निमोनिया से बचाव के लिए निशुल्क न्यूमोकोकल कंजुगेट पीसीवी टीकाकरण लगाने का निर्णय लिया गया है ताकि प्रदेश को निमोनिया मुक्त बनाया जा सके।
यह जानकारी आज जिम खाना क्लब में आयोजित मीडिया कार्यशाला को सम्बोधित करते हुए सिविल सर्जन योगेश शर्मा ने बताया कि सरकार विशेषकर बच्चों के स्वास्थ्य को लेकर गम्भीर है। इसलिए इस पीसीवी टीकाकरण को लगाने निर्णय लिया है ताकि एक वर्ष तक के बच्चों को निमोनिया से निजात दिलाई जा सके। उन्होंने बताया कि न्यूमोकोकल कंजुगेंट वैक्सीन लगाने का कार्य 9 अक्तुबर को पूरे प्रदेश में किया जाएगा। यह टीका अन्य टीकों के साथ लगाया जाएगा।
उन्होंने बताया कि केन्द्र सरकार द्वारा देश के कई राज्यों में इस टीके को प्रथम चरण में लगाने का निर्णय लिया गया। इसके बाद दूसरे चरण में हरियाणा सरकार ने अपने खर्चे से प्रदेश के सभी अस्पतालों में यह तीन टीके लगाने का निर्णय लिया गया है। यह टीके 4, 14 व 19 महिनें के बच्चों को लगाया जाएगा। अन्य टीकों के साथ लगाने से इसका कोई साईड इफेक्ट नहीं है तथा निमोनिया की चार मेजर बीमारियों से बचाव का कार्य करेगा। उन्होंने बताया कि निमोनिया का बैक्ट्रिया आसानी से फैलता है। इसलिए अभिभावकों को इसके लिए  जागरूक रहना चाहिए। विश्व स्तर पर निमोनिया से एक वर्ष की आयु के 16 प्रतिशत बच्चों को अकारण मौत हो जाती है।
कार्यशाला में उन्होंने बताया कि मल्टीपल इंजेक्शन के साथ इन्द्रधनुष कार्यक्रम की तरह इस टीके को लगाया जाएगा। यह बहुत ही महंगा टीका है लेकिन सरकार ने सभी बच्चों के लिए निशुल्क लगाने का फैसला करके एक वर्ष तक की आयु के बच्चों का जीवन सुरक्षित किया है। अब तक यह टीका केवल प्राईवेट अस्पतालों में ही लगाया जाता था। उन्होंने बताया कि यह एक युनिवर्सल प्रोग्राम है जो प्रदेश के छोटे बच्चों के लिए कारगर साबित होगा और इससे बच्चों को जीवनदान मिलेगा तथा शिशु मृत्यु दर में भी कमी आएगी।
उन्होंने टीकाकरण का महत्व के बारे में बताते हुए कहा कि प्रदेश के मेवात जिले में बच्चों को वैक्सीन न लगवाने के अभाव में डिफथीरिया आउटब्रेेक होने के कारण पूरे प्रदेश में हाई अलर्ट घोषित किया गया है तथा सभी चिकित्सा अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए गए है कि वे आशा वर्कर, एएनएम व अपने स्टाफ के साथ अपने अपने क्षेत्रों में धर घर जाकर इसकी पहचान करें और गलघोटू बीमारी के लक्षण पाए जाने पर ऐसे बच्चों को तत्काल अस्पताल में उपचार के लिए भेंजें। उन्होंने बताया कि अब तक गलघोटू के 34 केस सामने आए हैं इनमें से 3 शिशुओं की मृत्यु डिफथीरिया के कीटाणुओं के कारण हुई है।
उन्होंने बताया कि बुखार के साथ साथ गले में झिल्ली होना पाया जाता है तो ओर बच्चों को सांस लेने में दिक्कत होती है तो गलघोटू बीमारी के लक्षण है। उन्होंने एक सवाल के जवाब में कहा कि पंचकूला के मोरनी व पिजोंर में डेंगू बीमारी के अब तक 75 केस सामने आ चुके है। लेकिन विभागीय टीम निरंतर जाचं एंव निगरानी कर रही है। डेंगू बीमारी का यह सबसे खतरनाक समय है, इसलिए पूर्ण सावधानी बरतें। उन्होंने कहा कि शरीर को ढक कर रखें तथा पानी को एक़त्र न होने दें। प्रत्येक रविवार को ड्राई डे के रूप में मनाए। इस दिन सभी पानी स्टोरेज करने वाले बरतनों एवं टैंकों की सफाई करवाएं और लारवा को पनपने से रोंके।
इस अवसर पर स्वास्थ्य विभाग के डा. गगन सिंगला, उप सिविल सर्जन डा. सरोज अग्रवाल सहित कई चिकित्सक एवं स्टाफ मौजूद रहा।

7 अक्टूबर प्रात: 6 से 8 बजे यवनिका में होगा रह्गीरी कार्यक्रम

जिला प्रशासन द्वारा 7 अक्तूबर को सेक्टर-5 स्थित यवनिका पार्क के सामने प्रात: 6 से 8 बजे तक राहगिरी कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया जाएगा।
उपायुक्त मुकुल कुमार ने इस संबध में जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि राहगिरी कार्यक्रम पूरे सप्ताह की थकान एवं तनाव को दूर करने के लिए मास के पहले व तीसरे रविवार को यह कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जा रहे है। इसमें खेल  विभाग द्वारा अलग अलग खेलों का अभ्यास करने के अलावा विभिन्न स्कूली छा़त्र छात्राओं द्वारा सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम भी  प्रस्तुत किए जाएगें। इसके अलावा पंतजलि समिति द्वारा योगा कार्यक्र्रम भी आयोजित किया जाएगा जिसमें कई प्रकार की योग क्रियाएं करवाई जाएगी।

दीन दयाल उपाध्याय ग्राम ज्योति योजना के तहत एक लाख 55 हजार बिजली उपभोक्ता परिवारों को लाभ मिलेगा

उपायुक्त मुकुल कुमार ने बताया कि सरकार द्वारा बिजली उपभोक्ता परिवारों को नई सौगात देने का निर्णय लिया है। इसके तहत जिला के एक लाख 55 हजार बिजली उपभोक्ता परिवारों को लाभ मिलेगा।
उपायुक्त ने बताया कि यह स्कीम अक्तूबर माह से लागू हो गई है। इसके तहत मासिक 200 युनिट तक खपत वाले उपभोक्ताओं को अब 2.50 रुपये की दर बिजली मिलेगी। अब तक 150 युनिट तक 4.50 रुपये प्रति युनिट और अगले 50 युनिट पर 5.25 रुपये युनिट की दर लागू थी। अब 50 युनिट मासिक खपत पर केवल 2 रुपये प्रति युनिट निर्धारित किया गया है और 500 युनिट तक मासिक खपत वाले उपभोक्ताओं को भी यह लाभ मिलेगा।
उन्होंने बताया कि हरियाणा उत्तरी बिजली वितरण निगम द्वारा मोरनी क्षेत्र की ढाणियों को बिजली से जोडऩ़े के लिए दो करोड़ 14 लाख रुपये की राशि की परियोजना शुरू की गई है, जिसमें से एक करोड़ 65 लाख रुपये की राशि परियोजना पर खर्च की जा चुकी है। इस परियोजना का कार्य 31 दिसंबर 2018 तक पूर्ण कर लोगों को निर्बाध रूप से बिजली सप्लाई मिलनी शुरू हो जाएगी। ग्रामीण घरेलू उपभोक्ताओं को शहरों की तरह 24 घण्टें बिजली उपलब्ध करवाने के उद्वेश्य से म्हारा गांव जगमग गांव योजना के तहत ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में बेहतर बिजली सप्लाई उपलब्ध करवाई जा रही है।
उन्होंने बताया कि दीन दयाल उपाध्याय ग्राम ज्योति योजना के तहत ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में बिजली वितरण प्रणाली को सुदृढ किया जा रहा है। इस योजना पर 6 करोड़ 20 लाख रुपये की राशि खर्च की जा रही है और अब तक 94 लाख रुपये की राशि खर्च की जा चुकी है। इस परियोजना को भी 31 दिसंबर तक पूरा कर लिया जाएगा। इंटीग्रेटिड पॉवर डिवलेपमेंट स्कीम के तहत शहरी क्षेत्रों में बिजली वितरण प्रणाली को सुदृढ करने पर 6 करोड़ 20 लाख रुपये की राशि खर्च की जा रही है जिस पर 85 लाख रुपये की राशि खर्च की जा चुकी है।

Two arrested under NDPS Act

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Naveen Sood R/o # 33, Milk Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh near Rally Ground, Sector 25, Chandigarh and recovered 25 gm heroin from his possession. A case FIR No. 293, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Manjit Singh R/o Kawal Colony, Ward No. 9, Samrala, Distt- Ludhiana (PB) near Gaushala, Sector 45, Chandigarh and recovered total 50 injections of drugs from his possession. A case FIR No. 354, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

A case FIR No. 260, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh against Sonu R/o # 316, Village-Khuda Lahora, Chandigarh who was arrested near Toba Park, Khuda Lahora, Chandigarh and recovered 5 bottles of liquor from his possession. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 322, U/S 341, 323, 506, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Tribhuwan Chand R/o # 993, Adarsh Nagar, Nayagaon, Mohali, (PB) who alleged that Binder and 2 others beaten threatened complainant near Shanti Kunj, Sector 16, Chandigarh on 02.10.2018. He got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. Cheating

A case FIR No. 323, U/S 420, 467, 468, 471 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh on the complaint a lady resident of Sector-21/A, Chandigarh who alleged that she had given some part of property i.e. Ground floor of # 1569, Hallo Majra, UT, Chandigarh on lease to Dinesh Gulati R/o # 1940, Ph-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh in the year 2006. Thereafter on request of Dinesh Gulati one additional room of 1st floor was also given to him but he forcefully entered in another room. Now, Dinesh Gulati has submitted false and forged signed lease deed as well as forged rent receipts as a proof of possession in Sale Tax Office, Sector 17, Chandigarh and further giving false affidavit to Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee. One arrested for Snatching

A lady resident of Sector-28B, Chandigarh alleged that two persons snatched her purse containing cash Rs. 1200/- and documents near Gurudwara, Village Attawa, Chandigarh on 02.10.2018. Later one of the accused Sukhdev R/o # 2001/15, Sector 32C, Chandigarh was apprehended by public near the spot.  A case FIR No. 353, U/S 379, 356, 411 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Alleged person Sukhdev has been arrested in this case. Abetment to suicide

Sh. Rampal R/o # 483, Indira Colony, Sector-17 Panchkula, (HR) alleged that his son-in-law namely Deepak and his mother both R/o # 2445, Sector-52, Chandigarh abetted/provoked complainant’s daughter to commit suicide. A case FIR No. 354, U/S 306, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sea of humanity today converged at local Guru Gobind Singh stadium to join the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Diperva Lakra and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Navjot Singh Mahal for disseminating the message of clean, green and pollution free Jalandhar during peace march (Walkathon) and Cyclothon, to commemorate birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

During the grand event held under the aegis of ‘Tandarust Punjab Mission’ and Swachhta Mission was jointly organized by the district administration and Municipal Corporation. Several renowned private players like HDFC bank, Radio City, Pukhraj, Hero Cycles and others sponsored the event that saw public participation from all walks of life.

Addressing the gathering the Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police, Municipal Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police said that this mass movement was aimed at galvanizing the support of people for disseminating the message of cleanliness in the district.

They said that the main thrust of the campaign was to ensure that people were made aware of the fact that cleanliness of the city and their surroundings was duty of everybody. They said that every one of us especially the youth must come forward for perpetuating the life and philosophy of the father of nation by imbibing the ethos of non-violence, harmony and cleanliness in their lives.

They further said that the life, philosophy and sacrifice of Mahatma Gandhi would act as a lighthouse and continue to inspire us all for rendering selfless service to the community, society, state and the country.

The officers also thanked the people for extending fulsome support and cooperation to them in this noble cause. They expressed hope that the active support and cooperation of the people Jalandhar would soon emerge as a clean, green and pollution free district.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police led the cyclothon that started from Guru Gobind Singh Stadium and culminated at the same place after passing through Guru Amar Dass Chowk, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, Dr. Ambedkar (Nakodar) Chowk, Football Chowk , Kapurthala Chowk, Workshop Chowk and Burlton park. Similarly, the Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police led the peace march (walkothon) that commenced from Guru Gobind Singh Stadium and culminate back there after passing through Chun-Mun Chowk, APJ School, BMC Chowk, Namdev Chowk, Skylark Chowk, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk and Milk Bar Chowk.

Earlier, Additional Deputy Commisisoners Mr. Jitendra Jorwal and Mr. Jasbir Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrate Mr. Paramveer Singh, Joint Commissioner Municipal Corporation Ms. Aashika Jain and Assistant Commissioner Mr. Himanshu Jain welcomed the senior officers.

On the occasion famous Punjabi Singer Master Salim also regaled the audiences and appealed them to tread the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi.
