With the arrest of 3, 8 cases of theft and snatching solved

In a major breakthrough the Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police under the supervision of DSP Pawan Kumar team headed by Inspector Amanjot Singh is able to arrest three persons who are involved in recent snatchings and auto lifting from Chandigarh.

Profile of accused.

1. Vicky s/o Mahinder Singh R/o # Mohalla Amardas Colony Gali No.6, Near Shamshan Ghat, Giaspur Chowk, Ludhiana, Local Address: #, Sec.38 West, Chandigarh. Age 23 years.

2. Happyjit Singh S/o Sh. Shinderjit Singh R/o Gali No.5, Guru Amardas Colony Giaspura, Ludhiana. Age 22 years.

3. Ramesh Kumar S/o Ram Nihar R/o Vill. Koru Ragharpur Teh. Bikapur. PS. Haiderganj Distt. Faizabad UP, Aged 29 years.

On 22.09.18, a secret information was received that the accused Vicky who is involved in several cases of recent snatchings and vehicle lifting is presently roaming in the area of Police Station 34, Chandigarh. On the basis of secret information the naka was laid and Vikcy was apprehended. Further on the interrogation of accused Vicky two more accused namely Happyjit Singh and Ramesh Kumar were also arrested. On further interrogation and investigation total 10 cases were worked out. Out of which 7 is snatching and 3 are of vehicle theft.

Modus operandi

Vicky, Happyjit and Ramesh all are residents of Ludhiana and Happyjit is working as Sweeper in Hotel Blue Diamond, burial, Chandigarh. Vicky and Ramesh are his friends all of them are in habit of consuming drugs. All three of them decided to commit snatchings and vehicle lifting from Chandigarh, on this Vicky arranged one Activa which belong to his Aunt (Bua) who lives in sector 38 west Chandigarh and they started committing snatchings on this activa. Most of these snatching were done by Vicky alone on this activa and he used to give these snatched mobile to Ramesh for further selling it in the market.

Accused Vicky also confessed during the interrogation that he has also snatched few mobiles from Ludhiana.
