VC-Principals Interface at PU

The Vice-Chancellor-Principals’ Interface Meeting of all the affiliated Colleges of Panjab University, Chandigarh under the Chairmanship of Professor Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor was held here today at Rajiv Gandhi College Bhawan, Panjab University Chandigarh.

As many as 113 Principals and Conveners and organizing secretaries of PU Zonal Youth & Heritage Festival-2018 from various affiliated colleges were present. Dr. Parvinder Singh, Dean College Development and Controller of examinations accorded a warm welcome to the Vice-Chancellor on his personal behalf and on behalf of the principals of all the affiliated colleges.  He also welcomed the Principals, members of the Senate, Col. G.S. Chadha, Registrar, CA Vikram and Dr. Nirmal Jaura, Director Youth Festival.

The Vice-Chancellor in his Presidential Address,  highlighted the importance of the colleges for the University and assured them that they would collectively try to resolve the issues being faced by them. He said that he would hold quarterly meetings with the Principals.  He shared his vision with the participants and called upon them to take
steps for providing quality education to the students and come up to the expectations of the shareholders. The Vice-Chancellor also released the Logo of the PU Zonal Youth & Heritage Festival-2018.

CA Vikram Nayyar, FDO discussed the issues relating to Financial Grants/Funds/Payments/Honorarium etc. and their redressal mechanism adopted by the University.

Col. G.S. Chadha, Registrar discussed the administrative issues and Redressal mechanism pertaining to PU affiliated colleges.

Prof. A.S. Ahluwalia, Secretary to Vice-Chancellor highlighted the Challenges in Higher Education and said that education has to match global standards so that our students get better employability in the era of globalization.

At the end of the meeting, many issues relating to colleges were highlighted by Principals and suggestions were given for redressal of the grievances.
