Chandigarh, August 03, 2018: Women Wing of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Punjab on Friday condemned the act of insulting AAP MLA and the Deputy Leader of Opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Sarabjit Kaur Manuke and posting her picture on social media.

In a joint statement, the state president of the wing, Raj Lalli Gill, co-president Jiwanjot Kaur, zone presidents Bhupinder Kaur, Rajwinder Kaur, Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina and Kuldeep Kaur termed the act as reprehensible and against the ethics of society. They demanded that those responsible for the act must apologize publicly.

The leaders said that Manuke rose from a humble dalit family to the present position by dint of hard work and cooperation of dedicated AAP workers. She always stood by the people and raised their voice particularly the downtrodden inside and outside the Vidhan Sabha. The nefarious act against such women cannot be tolerated.

Raj Lalli Gill said that the Punjab and Punjabiyat teaches us to respect the women and such act hangs our heads with shame. She said that even the Sikh gurus and other spiritual leaders gave highest place to the women and committing such acts against her for political purposes is condemnable.
