Punjab Unit of AAP has rejected the resignations of Bhagwant Mann and Aman arora as president and vice-president of the state unit respectively. It has recommended the party high command not to accept the resignations of both leaders.
According to Babushahi sources the office bearers of different levels of the state unit who met here under the chairmanship of Dr Balbir Singh , in a resolution have asked Mann and Arora to withdraw their resignations appreciating their services for the party and the people of Punjab.
Chandigarh, August 03, 2018: Women Wing of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Punjab on Friday condemned the act of insulting AAP MLA and the Deputy Leader of Opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Sarabjit Kaur Manuke and posting her picture on social media.
In a joint statement, the state president of the wing, Raj Lalli Gill, co-president Jiwanjot Kaur, zone presidents Bhupinder Kaur, Rajwinder Kaur, Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina and Kuldeep Kaur termed the act as reprehensible and against the ethics of society. They demanded that those responsible for the act must apologize publicly.
The leaders said that Manuke rose from a humble dalit family to the present position by dint of hard work and cooperation of dedicated AAP workers. She always stood by the people and raised their voice particularly the downtrodden inside and outside the Vidhan Sabha. The nefarious act against such women cannot be tolerated.
Raj Lalli Gill said that the Punjab and Punjabiyat teaches us to respect the women and such act hangs our heads with shame. She said that even the Sikh gurus and other spiritual leaders gave highest place to the women and committing such acts against her for political purposes is condemnable.
New York, Aug 4 (IANS) Children with autism were able to improve their social skills by using a smartphone app paired with Google Glass — an eye-wearable device — to help them understand the emotions conveyed in people’s facial expressions, according to a pilot study.
Autism is a serious developmental disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact.
However, the therapy, named “Superpower Glass” developed by the researchers at the Stanford University School of Medicine, uses an app that provides real-time cues about people’s facial expressions to a child wearing Google Glass.
The Superpower Glass is based on applied behaviour analysis in which a clinician teaches emotion recognition using structured exercises such as flash cards depicting faces with different emotions.
The device, which was linked with a smartphone through a local wireless network, consists of a glasses-like frame equipped with a camera to record the wearer’s field of view, as well as a small screen and a speaker to give the wearer visual and audio information.
As autistic children interact with others, the app identifies and names their emotions through the Google Glass speaker or screen.
After one to three months of regular use, parents reported that children with autism made more eye contact and related better to others.
For the study, published online in npj Digital Medicine, 14 families tested the Superpower Glass setup at home for an average of 10 weeks with three 20 minute sessions per week.
A few weeks into the trial, children began to realise that people’s faces hold clues to their feelings.
In addition, six of the 14 participants had large enough declines in their scores to move down one step in the severity of their autism classification.
This treatment could help fill a major gap in autism care due to a shortage of trained therapists, as children may have to wait as long as 18 months after an autism diagnosis to begin receiving treatment, the researchers noted.

Haryana Government has accorded approval for giving pay scales to the teaching and non-teaching staff of seven government universities, government colleges and government aided colleges from January 1, 2016 as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission.
This would put an additional burden of Rs 230.6 crore annually on the State exchequer.
Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu said that with this decision, teaching and non-teaching staff working on 2853 posts in various Universities and Colleges in the State would be benefited.
The Finance Minister said that with the implementation of 7th pay commission, Assistant Professors of Universities and Colleges would get Rs 57,700 to 79,800 whereas, Associate Professors would get Rs 1, 31,400 and Professors would get Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 1, 82,200. Similarly, Assistant Librarian of Universities and Colleges would get Rs 57,700 to Rs 68,900 and Deputy Librarian would get Rs 79,800 to Rs 1,31,400 and Librarian would get Rs 1, 44,200.
He said that while Lecturers, Physical Education in Universities and Colleges and Assistant Director of Sports Department would get Rs 57,700 to Rs 68,900, Deputy Director would get Rs 79,800 to Rs 1,31,400 and Director would get Rs 1,44,200. He said that now, the Registrar and Controller of Examination would get Rs 1,44,200, Sub Registrar and Sub Controller of Examination would get Rs 79,800 and Assistant Registrar and Assistant Controller of Examination would get Rs 56,100. Apart from this, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Vice Chancellor would also get pay scale as per the 7th pay commission, he added.
The Finance Minister said that the number of teaching and non-teaching employees which would be benefited from the enhanced salary included 1990 in government colleges, 2956 in government aided colleges, 332 in Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, 287 in Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, 64 in Ch. Devi Lal University, Sirsa, 12 in Ch. Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, 18 in Ch, Ranbir Singh University, Jind, 116 in Bhagat Phool Singh Women University, Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat and 34 in Indira Gandhi University, Rewari.
