Gateway to drugs ignored by four states in their fight plan

Jammu and Kashmir may have become a virtual gateway to drugs, but its cause to control the malaise is not expected to get help following its exclusion by a group of four other northern states which came together to fight drug menace.

The Chief Ministers of Haryana, Punjab, Uttrakhand and Himachal Pradesh have reportedly decided to establish a central secretariat at Panchkula to sharing data and monitor steps to meet the challenge of growing drug abuse among the youth.

Many have questioned Jammu and Kashmir has not been included to participate in the drive, claiming that most narcotics are being smuggled to rest of the country from the state.

Drug smuggling has apparently assumed the proportion of narco-terrorism. Narcotics are smuggled into J&K from Pakistan and Afghanistan through mountainous terrain along the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Although at present there is no elected government in J&K – the state being under Governor’s rule – some representative of the Home Department or the state police could have been included in the joint team to yield better results in fight against drug smuggling.

J&K, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat share international border with Pakistan from where narcotics, it is understood, are being pushed into India.

Besides, smuggling from Pakistan and PoK, high quality charas grown in various parts of Kashmir is also smuggled to rest of the country. Seizure of huge consignments of narcotics recently by the J&K Police and the Narcotics Bureau bear testimony to that. A consignment of narcotics worth about Rs 300 crore was recently seized from a Pakistani truck on a LoC trading centre in Kashmir.

Besides J&K, the Malana valley of Himachal Pradesh is also known to be contributing high grade charas in the drug market, but reports indicate that the charas produced in Anantnag area of south Kashmir has a greater market even in far away city of Mumbai.

The J&K Police, meanwhile, has initiated a drive to manually destroy the poppy plantations in apple orchards at various places. However, it might take a long time to achieve the desired results till mechanical methods are introduced to uproot the plants.

285 arrested during Haryana Police campaign against drugs

Haryana Police have registered 174 cases and arrested 285 people during last three and half months period under a special campaign ‘Prabal Prahar’ being carried out against drug peddlers in Sirsa district.

While stating this on Tuesday, a spokesman of Police Department said large quantity of narcotic substance including 3.700 kilogram (kg) heroin,14.368 kg opium, 24.340 kg ganja, over 1548 kg of poppy husk and doda post, over 1.58 lakh restricted drug pills, 24,390 intoxication capsules and 1004 restricted injections were recovered by the police during this period.

He said that following the directives of Director General of Police, BS Sandhu to tighten the noose around the criminals and antinational elements, Haryana Police is taking strict action to completely curb smuggling of narcotics especially in the bordering areas with Rajasthan and Punjab.

Sandhu also congratulated the police personnel for the wonderful work done for freeing the district of drug menace.

Apart from taking stern action against drug smugglers, he said that Police is also making aware the general public about the ill effects of drug addiction.

People of the district, social organisations, youth clubs and panchayat representatives have also been urged to join this campaign and ensure more involvement, so that a completely drug-free and crime-free society could be established.

The spokesman said that stern action being undertaken by Haryana Police against drug peddlers in the state especially in Sirsa district are now being appreciated by other states too in the northern region.

During the first regional conference held in Chandigarh on Monday, seven states agreed to set up a permanent secretariat in Panchkula for constant monitoring of crackdown on drug peddlers.

Convened by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar the conference was attended by Punjab CM Amarinder Singh, Uttarakhand CM TS Rawat while Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur participating through video conference.

Representatives of Rajasthan, Delhi and Union Territory Chandigarh also attended the conference. Meanwhile, in yet another crackdown on drug peddlers, Haryana Police today arrested five persons after 30 gram heroin and 3300 banned capsules were recovered from them in district Sirsa.

केरल के बाढ़ पीडि़तों को आर्थिक सहायता भेजेगी आप: योगेश्वर शर्मा

आम आदमी पार्टी केरल के बाढ़ पीडि़तों की आर्थिक मदद करेगी तथा प्रदेश भर से पार्टी की ओर से धन जुटाकर केरल के लोगों को भेजेगी। पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय संयोजक एवं दिल् ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल भी इस मामले में पहले ही अपील कर चुके हैं।

आज यहां जारी एक ब्यान में पार्टी के जिला पंचकूला के अध्यक्ष योगेश्वर शर्मा ने कहा कि केरल हमारे देश का एक अभिन्न अंग है और इस समय वहां रहने वाले हमारे भाई बहन प्राकृतिक आपदा के कारण संकट में हैं। ऐसे में हमारा यह दायित्व बनता है कि हम ज्यादा से ज्यादा,जिस भी तरह से बन पड़े उनकी मदद करें। यही अपील दिल् ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने भी की है तथा सभी पार्टीजनों से भी इस दिशा में काम करने को कहा गया है। उन्होंने कहा कि आप के सभी जिला अध्यक्ष अपने अपने जिलों से ज्यादा से ज्यादा रुपये एकत्रित कर प्रदेश इकाई को भेजेंगे, जहां से यह मदद आगे भेजी जाएगी। उन्होंने कहा कि उनकी पार्टी यह काम राजनीति से ऊपर उठकर करेगी। इसमें वे हर उस इंसान या किसी भी पार्टी के नेता का स्वगत करेंगे जो इस काम में अपनी ओर से मदद की पेशकश करेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि हरियाणा का यह सदैव व्यावहार रहा है कि वह अपने किसी भी भाईबंधू को परेशानी में देखकर तत्काल उसकी मदद को आगे हाथ बढ़ाता है और इस बार भी वह इस काम में चार कदम आगे ही खड़ा होगा। उन्होंने कहा कि उन्होंने जिले के सभी पदाधिकारियों को इस मामले में दिशानिर्देश जारी कर दिए हैं तथा पार्टी कार्यकर्ता अपने अपने तौर पर इस काम में जुट गये हैं।

Satya Pal Malik appointed new Governor of J&K

Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik has been appointed as new governor of Jammu Kashmir on Tuesday.

Malik has been transferred to Jammu and Kashmir to replace incumbent Governor N N Vohra, according to a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique today.

Senior BJP leader Lal Ji Tandon has been appointed as the Governor of Bihar replacing Malik, and Satyadev Narayan Arya will be the new Governor of Haryana, it said.

Vohra, who was appointed governor in June 2008 was given a fresh term in 2013. He is among the few governors appointed by the UPA government to have continued in his position in the BJP-led NDA dispensation.

Meanwhile Baby Rani Maurya will be the new Governor of Uttarakhand, it said.

Kaptan Singh Solanki, the Governor of Haryana, has been transferred to Tripura.

Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy has been transferred to Meghalaya, it said.

Ganga Prasad, the Governor of Meghalaya, has been transferred to Sikkim, it said.

The above appointments will take effect from the dates the incumbents assume charge of their respective offices.

National Media Co-ordinator & State Secretary Deepanshu Bansal has sent a memorandum to Education minister,Govt. Of Haryana regarding revocation of Semester system in Govt. Colleges and Universities of Haryana and demands implementation of annual examination system in Haryana State likewise Himachal Govt has revocked the semester system and implemented annual examination system.

Semester system is a good process but due to failure of BJP govt and bad management it is affecting the studies of students and teacher are helpless in this. Semester system is degrading the level of education. Students and teachers are taggled in other works Instead of focusing on examinations, classes and studies. Deepanshu said, there is 365 days in a year in which 52 days are of Sunday for which colleges are closed and on other side 52 days are Saturday , on which there is not much lectures due to short attendance. Also, India is a secular state and there are lot of religions and it has lot of festivals to celebrate the joy and happiness due to which there are 50-60 holidays and examinations of both semesters in a year takes 60-70 days. Also, admission procedure takes 30-40 days in total.If we calculate all these, Students get only 60-70 days in a year which means just. 30-35 days in a semester. It is difficult for students and teachers to cope up with the syllabus.It also affects the results of students and students are unable to complete their syllabus in time. Though, HRD ministry has also recommended to revock the semester system. On the other side, Students are unable to participate in Cultural and sports activities. Deepanshu alleges that,Semester system is failed as it is not implemented properly at grass root level which is a failure of BJP govt. Semester system is a procedure to help the students to cover up their syllabus easily but it is affecting them due to bad management of BJP govt. NSUI Demands for annual examination system and to revock the semester system with an immediate effect to improve the education system and to help the students.

प्रदेश में अराजकता व जंगलराज- मुख्यमंत्री के विधानसभा क्षेत्र के मंदिर में तिहरा हत्याकांड, मंदिर भी सुरक्षित नहीं

चंडीगढ़। अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस कमेटी के मीडिया प्रभारी एवं वरिष्ठ कांग्रेस नेता रणदीप सिंह सुरजेवाला ने मुख्यमंत्री मनोहरलाल खट्टर के विधानसभा क्षेत्र के श्रीगोविंद धाम मंदिर में दो पुजारियों और एक सेवक की हत्या और मंदिर में लूटपाट को प्रदेश में फैली अराजकता और जंगल राज का जीता-जागता प्रमाण बताया है।

श्री सुरजेवाला ने कहा कि करनाल के मंगलौरा गांव में मंदिर में पुजारी विनोद शर्मा, रविन्द्र व सेवादार सुलतान की हत्या से साबित हो गया है कि भाजपा सरकार में कानून का शासन खत्म हो गया है और प्रदेश में बदमाश बेखौफ है, जिन्हें कानून का कोई भय नहीं है। उन्होंने कहा कि श्रीगोविंद धाम मंदिर में जिस प्रकार से बदमाशों ने तीन हत्याएं की, दो लोगों की जीभ काट दी और दानपात्र लूट लिया, उससे साफ जाहिर है कि अब खट्टर सरकार में ना मंदिर सुरक्षित हैं, ना मंदिर के पुजारी और ना ही मंदिर के दान पात्र। ऐसी सरकार को एक दिन भी गद्दी पर रहने का अधिकार नहीं है।

हरियाणा में बढ़ रही हत्याओं और अदालतों में हुई गैंगवार की घटनाओं का हवाला देते हुए श्री सुरजेवाला ने कहा कि पिछले चार सालों में प्रदेश में गैंगवार, फिरौती, रंगदारी व अदालतों में हत्याओं की वारदात लगातार बढ़ रही हैं, जो पहले प्रदेश में कभी नहीं हुई। इस सरकार की विफलता के कारण आज प्रदेश का कोई भी कोना सुरक्षित नहीं है और लोग भय में जीने को मजबूर हैं।

सुरजेवाला ने कहा कि प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री मनोहरलाल के पास ही गृह मंत्रालय भी है। प्रदेश में हो रहे अपराधों के लिए सीधे मुख्यमंत्री जिम्मेदार हैं। अपराध रोकने में नाकाम मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल खट्टर ने अपनी नाकामी छिपाने के लिए अपने कार्यकाल में सिर्फ अधिकारियों को बदलने का काम किया है।

भाजपा शासनकाल में प्रदेश में स्थापित हो चुके अराजकता और जंगलराज का अंदाजा इसी से लगाया जा सकता है कि मुख्यमंत्री के पास गृह मंत्रालय होने के बावजूद मुख्यमंत्री के खुद के विधानसभा क्ष्रेत्र के लोग खुद को असुक्षित महसूस कर रहे हैं।

हत्या, बलात्कार, सामूहिक बलात्कार और अपहरण के बढ़ते मामलों को लेकर चिंता जाहिर करते हुए श्री सुरजेवाला ने कहा कि समाचारों के अनुसार प्रदेश में जनवरी से जून तक 440 हत्या, 66 गैंग रेप व 603 बलात्कार के मामले सामने आ चुके हैं।

Vinesh became first women wrestler to win gold in Asian Games

She becomes the first Indian woman wrestler to win gold, and first woman wrestler to win back-to-back medals, at the event

Vinesh Phogat on Monday created history by becoming the first Indian woman wrestler to win a gold medal at the Asian Games, brushing aside her rivals with remarkable ease in the 50kg category here.

Vinesh was a medal-favourite in her category and was likely to face stiff competition from Japan’s Yuki Irie whom she outplayed 6-2 in the final.

It is surely a ground-breaking achievement for the 23-year-old firebrand Haryana wrestler, who is connected to Dangal-famed Phogat family.

Putting behind her heart-breaking loss at the Olympics two years ago, Vinesh began her victorious campaign with a revenge win against Chinese Yanan Sun against whom she had suffered that terrible leg injury which cut short her journey in Rio.

This time Vinesh did not give her opponent any chance and came out a dominant winner with a 8-2 score.

In the next bout she brushed aside the challenge of Korea’s Hyungjoo Kim by technical superiority. She ended the bout with a four-point throw.

Vinesh’s semifinal lasted just 75 seconds as she moved into the final with a ‘fitley’ She was already up 4-0 and then rolled over her opponent thrice with leg-lock.

The gold also enabled Vinesh to achieve another feat as she became the only woman wrestler to win two medals in back-to-back Asian Games.

Vinesh had earlier won a bronze medal in the 48kg category at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.

Vinesh also won back-to-back gold medals in Glasgow and Gold Coast Commonwealth Games this year.

Earlier, Sakshi Malik paid the price for being over-defensive and was left to fight for bronze in the 62kg category.

CWG silver medallist Pooja Dhanda will also fight for bronze after losing her semifinal in the 57kg.

Pinki was the only girl to not reach the medal round as she lost her first round bout in the 53kg category against Mongolia’s Sumiya Erdenechimeg. She could not score a single point and lost her bout by technical superiority.

Sumit Malik, the last remaining Indian in the men’s freestyle, bit the dust in the 125kg category as he could not resist his opponent even for two minutes, losing by technical superiority.

Thus, the men’s campaign finished with just one gold medal from Bajrang Punia (65kg).

Sakshi, playing her first Asian Games, was hardly challenged before her semifinal round as she easily won against Thailand’s Salinee Srisombat (10-0) and Ayaulym Kassymova (10-0).

She was up 4-0 in her semifinal bout against Kyrgyzstan’s Aisuluu Tynybekova but lost six points in a row by the end of first period.

She led 7-6 with a throw but became too defensive with 10 seconds to go. The Kyrgyz took advantage and pushed Sakshi out of the mat to pocket the match-wining two points.

Pooja lost just one point en route the semifinals as she outclassed Thailand’s Orasa Sookdongyor (10-0) and Uzbekistan’s Nabira Esenbae (12-1) but lost the last-four clash on technical superiority to Korea’s Myong Suk Jong.

मोदी सरकार के आने के समय एक डालर की क़ीमत 56.78रुपये थी और अब70.15, रुपए है।इसीतरह उस समय पंचकुला में डीजल 55.49 रुपये और पैट्रोल 71.41 रुपये प्रति लीटर मिलता था तथा क्रुड आयलकी कीमत अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर 106.85 डालर प्रति बैरल थी आज 19.8.18 को पंचकूला में डीजल 69.73 रुपये तथा पैट्ररोल 77.70रुपये प्रति लीटर की दर से मिलता हैं, जबकि क्रुड आयल की दरें आज 71.83 डालर प्रति बैरल हैं। अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर क्रुड आयल की दरों में कमी और इधर देश में जनता की चमड़ी उधेडी जा रही है। उस समय घरेलू गैस के एक सलैंडर की कीमत लगभग 420रुपये थी और अब उपभोक्ता को उसी सिलैंडर की कीमत 821.50 रुपये अदा करनी पड़ती है। पहले घरेलू गैस सिलेंडर पर कोई टैक्स नहीं लगता था और अब उस पर 5% जी एस टी भी लगा दिया गया है।

यह नतीजों वाली लुटेरी सरकार जिसकी मोदी जी पुनः मांग कर रहे हैं।
