It is alleged that Ms. Purvi helped her brother launder the funds generated through the scam.
The Interpol has issued a Red Notice against Purvi Modi, sister of absconding billionaire Nirav Modi, in connection with the ₹ 13,578-crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraudcase.
It is alleged that Ms. Purvi helped her brother launder the funds generated through the scam. The transactions, made through some entities in Singapore and Hong Kong, are under the scanner.
On the Enforcement Directorate’s request, the Interpol had issued a Red Notice against Modi’s close confidant Mihir Bhansali, who oversaw his U.S. operations and was also allegedly instrumental in setting up dummy firms for money laundering.
Interpol Red Notices have so far been issued against five persons wanted for their involvement in the scam, including Nirav Modi and his brother Neeshal Modi.

State Congress CLP leader, MLA from Tosham Constituency said that there is no Chief Minister face in the party till date. While responding to media persons regarding her being in the same races she did not deny her stake. At the same time she ruled out any polarisation in the party. She said that all the party leaders are conveying the party policies to the masses in their respective areas and ways.
While criticising the anti masses policies of BJP, Kiran said that the prices of petrol and other products varies according to the local government policies which imposes taxes on fuels. as and when the Govt. of India raises tax rates on fuels the oil companies in India also increase the price of petrol to recover losses and maintain marginal profits in the oil business in India. The fear linked to the rise of petrol prices in India are never ending. Do we blame crude oil for these steep price hike? Or is the root cause something different? The answer lies in the fact that while crude oil continues to remain cheaper, the taxes levied by the State and Central Govts. which are actually for the ever rising petrol prices. Since May, 2014, there has been successive increase in the excise duty. Data reveals that as of November, 2014, there has been a 54% increase in the excise duty on petrol.

Daily prices revision of petrol has begun 16th june this year. It has been observed that the price rise has happened gradually. As petrol does not fall under GST, the price of it varies across States. However, when considering the cost and freight prices alongwith the excise duty, dealer commission, applicable VAT etc., it has been found that the taxes on petrol sums up to be more than its actual cost. Although, presently crude oil has become much cheaper compared to what it had been way back in 2014, it is that collective taxes levied by the State and the Central Govts., that has caused the petrol price to rise to what it had been in 2014, the highest till date. despite promises from the Govt. regarding rolling back the taxes, the prices of petroleum products have increased many folds.
people were brought from various distts. to mark political presence of ‘the Mahagathbandhan’ photo by R.K.
Relentless rise in prices of petrol and diesel is not inevitable because the price is built up by excessive taxes on petrol and diesel. If taxes are cut, prices will decline significantly. Rising oil prices have direct bearing in India’s inflation and fiscal indicators in the Indian Economy.
To give relief to common people the petrol and diesel should be brought within the ambit of GST and also reduce state VAT and Central Excise and taxes on fuel so that petrol diesel prices are reduce by Rs. 10/15 per liter.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday decided to defer its organisational elections to pave the way for Amit Shah to continue as President until the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday decided to defer its organisational elections to pave the way for Amit Shah to continue as President until the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
“Organisational elections are a vast exercise and it takes time too. All the workers get involved in it. So, a discussion is going on to defer the organisational polls until the 2019 Lok Sabha polls are completed,” West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh told reporters here at the sidelines of two-day National Executive meet.
Sources said that the issue was discussed at the office bearers, state BJP chiefs and General Secretary (Organisation) of the states meeting held under the chairmanship of Shah and a resolution, in this regard, will be passed by the National Executive.
The office bearers meeting takes place before inauguration of the National Executive to set its agenda.
According to the party constitution, any eligible member can hold the post of President for two-consecutive terms of three-years each.
Shah was elected unopposed as the party president on 24 January 2016, for a second term, this time for a full tenure of three years. He had earlier completed Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s interrupted tenure as President from July 2014. His second term will end on 26 January 2019.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Shah was incharge of Uttar Pradesh where the BJP won 73 out of total 80 seats. After Rajnath Singh became Home Minister in the Narendra Modi government, Shah was appointed BJP President in July 2014.
Briefing reporters about the office bearers meeting, BJP Secretary Rahul Sinha quoted Shah as saying that the party will contest the 2019 polls on the performance of the Modi government and strength of organisation.
“The opposition parties are trying to spread confusion among the people but they will not succeed. We will win 2019 Lok Sabha polls with a bigger margin,” Sinha said.
He said there are 22 crore beneficiaries of the central government’s schemes and it has been decided that 9 crore party workers will reach out to them.
“Their (workers) responsibility would be to take these beneficiaries to the polling centres,” Sinha said, adding that party’s booth level workers have been given responsibility to take voters out from their houses to polling centres.
Prime Minister Modi will address the National Executive on Sunday afternoon.

England’s Alastair Cook hits a boundary during play on the first day of the fifth Test cricket match between England and India at The Oval in London on September 7, 2018.

Former England skipper Alastair Cook missed out on a century as the Joe Root-led side threw away a perfect start to huff and puff their way to 198 runs for a loss of seven wickets at the conclusion of the opening day of the fifth and last Test match of the ongoing series. The match is being placed at the Oval.
Batting first, the openers gave England a decent start by adding a 60-run stand for the first wicket. Even after Keaton Jennings was removed by Ravindra Jadeja, England continued their over-cautious approach. Following Jennings’ departure, Alastair Cook and Moeen Ali took England’s innings forward against some disciplined and sustained Indian bowling. On Friday, for an instance when England were 133 for 1, it seems Joe Root’s side is in control of the game. However, after Cook was removed, spectators once again witnessed a batting collapsed by the home team.
Here are five talking points from Day One
1- Alastair Cook receives guard of honour from the Indian team
The ongoing fifth Test match is also England’s highest Test run-getter Alastair Cook’s last international match. On Friday, as Cook walked out to bat, the 33-year-old batsman took a guard of honour form the Indian team — a handshake from rival skipper Virat Kohli and a standing ovation from the Oval crowd.
Alastair Cook has played 161 Test matches for England and scored 12,254 runs at an average of 44.88 with the help of 32 hundreds and 56 half centuries.
2- Hanuma Vihari preferred over Karun Nair
On the first day of the final Test match, skipper Virat Kohli and team management once again came under heavy criticism for team selection after debutant Hanuma Vihari was included in team’s playing XI ahead Karun Nair.
Nair, picked in the Indian squad for the initial three Test matches, was then retained by selectors for the final two matches of the series. Despite getting selected in both the squads, Nair has not played a single Test match in this tour.
After Virat Kohli announced his playing XI, his decision to include Hanuma Vihari and not Karun Nair has received plenty of flak on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.
3- Ravindra Jadeja
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was finally included in Team’s playing XI for the fifth Test match and he grabbed the opportunity by claiming two crucial wickets.
On Friday, the visiting team made two changes in their playing XI — Hardik Pandya was replaced by Hanuma Vihari and Ravindra Jadeja was included in place of injured R Ashwin.
Ravindra Jadeja bowled a terrific spell and claimed 2 wickets in 24 overs and conceded 57 runs.
4- Alastair Cook
Alastair Cook finally shone with the bat in the second-last innings of his international Test career. Though Cook missed out a century in his final Test match, he will again get the chance to score a ton in the last innings of his Test career.
5- Indian pacers shine again
Though India have already lost the five-match Test series and have just four more days left in this tour, Kohli’s side proved they have one of the most lethal pace attacks in their squad, which can come handy during Australia tour.
The way Indian pacers bowled throughout the series was simply outstanding.
On the opening day of the final Test match, Indian pacers Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah kept England at bay all day by hitting the correct areas consistently.
Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah shared five wickets and Mohammed Shami was wicketless at the end of first day’s game.

A day after the steepest ever rise, the prices of petrol and diesel were once again hiked on Saturday across the four Metro cities, taking the price of petrol beyond Rs 80 in the national capital.
The prices of petrol and diesel were hiked between 38 paise and 49 paise across New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai, according to the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).
In Delhi, the price of petrol is resting at a record Rs 80.38 per litre, while it is being sold at Rs 87.77 per litre in Mumbai after a hike of 39 paisa.
Diesel, on the other hand, has been increased by 44 paisa a litre, taking its cost to Rs 72.51 and Rs 76.98 per litre in Delhi and Mumbai, respectively.
On Friday, petrol and diesel rates were hiked by about 50 paisa per litre each, which came as the steepest increase in prices since daily price revision came into effect over 14 months back, pushing the petrol and diesel prices to their highest ever levels on Friday.
Opposition calls protests against rising fuel prices
Congress has called a Bharat Bandh on September 10 to protest against the escalating fuel prices.
The Congress on Friday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking whether petrol prices would hit the century mark under his government and if the rupee was in hospital.
Congress spokesperson R P N Singh said all political parties would take to the streets to protest against the rising prices of petrol and diesel that are hitting the common man hard and questioned the prime minister’s silence on the issue.
He said the September 10 ‘Bharat Bandh’ protest is “not of the Congress but of the common man”.
“The prime minister during the UPA’s tenure had said that the rupee is in hospital. The rupee has touched an all-time low against the US dollar, where is the prime minister now? He is neither tweeting nor giving any speech. Never has the rupee touched such low levels in the history of the country. The country wants to ask him why is he silent? Is the rupee in hospital today?” he asked.
The Congress will organise a nationwide protest on September 10 over rising fuel prices, party leaders had announced Thursday and asked other opposition parties and civil society groups to join the shutdown against the central government.

Following the controversy over a proposed move to shift the venue of the Aero India, the Ministry of Defence confirmed on Saturday that the mega airshow will be held in its traditional venue of Bengaluru in Karnataka.
Following the controversy over a proposed move to shift the venue of the biennial Aero India show, the Ministry of Defence confirmed on Saturday that the mega airshow will be held in its traditional venue of Bengaluru in Karnataka.
“The Government has decided to hold the Aero India 2019 in Bengaluru from 20 to 24 February 2019,” the MoD said in a statement.
The Defence Ministry’s decision thus ends uncertainty over the venue of the 12th edition of Aero India. It was speculated that the venue may be shifted out of Karnataka especially after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a request to Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in August to select Lucknow as the venue for the mega event.
Besides Uttar Pradesh, the Defence Ministry had indicated that it was examining requests from a number of states including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Odisha and Tamil Nadu.
Political leaders in Karnataka had protested against any move to shift the Aero India out of the state.
Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka G Parameshwara called the “plan” unfortunate and alleged that the Centre was trying to end Bengaluru’s dominance in the defence sector.
“Plan to snatch Aero India Show away from Bengaluru in favour of Lucknow is very unfortunate. We have been conducting it successfully since 1996. This comes after HAL was snubbed for Rafael deal. Centre seems to be keen on ending Bengaluru’s dominance in the defence sector,” he said on Twitter on 3 August.
After Adityanath’s argument that bringing the Aero India to Lucknow will give a fillip to the proposed defence corridor in Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi arguing in favour of Bengaluru.
“Bengaluru being the hub for defence and aviation majors of the country is certainly the most suitable place to conduct the show,” he had said in the letter.
Meanwhile, the Defence Ministry said that the five-day event will combine a major trade exhibition for the aerospace and defence industries with public air shows.
“Besides global leaders and big investors in aerospace industry, the show will also see participation by think-tanks from across the world,” the government said.
Stating that the Aero India will provide a unique opportunity for exchange of information, ideas and new developments in the aviation industry, the government said that it will give a “fillip to the domestic aviation industry it would further the cause of Make in India”
