Special lecture on the development of Urdu Language at PU

“Urdu is a language of Hindus and Sikhs and this fact should be given adequate space is the history of Urdu language and its literature”, said Prof. Zia-ur-RehmanSiddiqui from Aligarh Muslim University while delivering a special lecture on the development of Urdu language organized by Department of Urdu, Panjab University Chandigarh

Dr.Siddiqui said that Guru Nanak DevJi preached his holy message in a language of the people which included a number of words from Arabic and Persian languages.He added that Bhartendu Harish Chander, MunshiHarsukhlal, MunshiPrem Chand, Munshi Naval Kishore, KanwarRajinder Singh Bedi and many others had contributed immensely for the promotion of Urdu in India. He laid stress on the promotion of translation work from Panjabi and Hindi and vice-versa.

 On this occasion three books written by Dr. Ali Abbas, Coordinator of the department of Urdu were also released.Dr. Ali Abbas lauded the creative activities of Dr.Siddiqui, who started his teaching career from the Department of Urdu, Panjab University, some 20years back, Among others Dr, Zarreen Fatima  from Department of Urdu and Mr  JatinderParvaz from  the Haryana Urdu Academy  were also present.

राहगिरी के माध्यम से पूरे वर्ष किए जाएं जागरूकता कार्यक्रम- ओपी सिंहमुख्यमंत्री के विशेष अधिकारी एवं एडीजीपी ओपी सिंह ने वीसी के जरिए दिए अधिकारियों को निर्देश

पंचकूला, 21 नवंबर-

जिला स्तर पर आयोजित की जाने वाले राहगिरी कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से अब वर्ष भर समसामयिक व सामाजिक विषयों पर जागरूकता कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जाएंगे। राहगिरी कार्यक्रम में अधिकाधिक लोगों की भागीदारी सुनिश्चित की जाए और इसका सोशल मीडिया के माध्यम से प्रचार किया जाए।

यह निर्देश मुख्यमंत्री के विशेष अधिकारी एवं एडीजीपी ओपी सिंह ने आज सभी जिलों के अधिकारियों के साथ आयोजित वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंस के दौरान दिए। उन्होंने राहगिरी कार्यक्रम को और अधिक प्रभावशाली बनाने तथा इसमें आयोजित की जाने गतिविधियों की संख्या को बढ़ाने के संबंध में व्यापक दिशा.निर्देश दिए।

  एडीजीपी ओपी सिंह ने कहा कि प्रत्येक राहगिरी को अच्छा संदेश देने वाले थीम पर आधारित किया जाए। इसके लिए प्रत्येक जिला को महत्वपूर्ण दिवसों की सूची भी भेजी गई है। उन्होंने कहा कि थीम के विषय से संबंधित विभाग को भी राहगिरी कार्यक्रम में जरूर शामिल किया जाए। एक दिसंबर को विश्व एड्स दिवस के अवसर पर राहगिरी कार्यक्रम में एड्स के प्रति जागरूकता कार्यक्रम आयोजित करवाए जाएं और इसमें स्वास्थ्य विभाग का सक्रिय सहयोग लिया जाए।

उन्होंने कहा कि राहगिरी कार्यक्रम में आर्ट एंड कल्चर गतिविधियों को भी बढ़ावा दिया जाए। इसमें प्रतिभागियों के लिए पेंटिंग प्रतियोगिता आदि का आयोजन करवाया जाए। उन्होंने राहगिरी में योग गतिविधियों को भी शामिल करने के संबंध में दिशा.निर्देश दिए। इसके साथ ही राहगिरी कार्यक्रम में शारीरिक गतिविधियों को बढ़ावा देने की भी हिदायतें दी गईं।

  एडीजीपी ने कहा कि राहगिरी कार्यक्रम की पूर्व सूचना व कार्यक्रम उपरांत के समाचार व फोटो आदि सोशल मीडिया पर प्रसारित किए जाएं ताकि राहगिरी का संदेश अधिक से अधिक लोगों तक पहुंच सके। उन्होंने कहा कि फेसबुक, ट्वीटर व वट्सअप आदि के माध्यम से राहगिरी के फॉलोअर्स की संख्या को बढ़ाया जाएगा। उन्होंने कहा कि इस समय हरियाणा में राहगिरी कार्यक्रम साकारात्मक दिशा में जा रहा है। इसमें प्रतियोगिता के साथ.साथ सहयोग की भावना को बढ़ाना भी जरूरी है। जब आपसी सहयोग से लक्ष्य प्राप्त करने की दिशा में प्रयास किए जाते हैं तो नागरिक समाज के उपयोगी अंग बनते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि समस्याओं के समाधान की प्रवृति जीवन में सफलताओं के द्वार खोलती है।

एसडीएम सुशील कुमार ने बताया कि पंचकूला में रविवार, 24 नवंबर को राहगिरी कार्यक्रम पूरे जोश व उल्लास के साथ आयोजित किया जाएगा और इसमें अधिक से अधिक शहरवासियों की भागीदारी सुनिश्चित की जाएगी। इस अवसर पर पंचकूला मुख्यालय एसीपी विजय देसवाल, जिला शिक्षा अधिकारी हरविंद्र सिंह सैनी,  सहित अन्य विभागों के अधिकारी भी मौजूद थे।

2 days seminar on Academic writings commenced at PU

Prof. Krishna Kumar, Padma Shri, Former Director NCERT, Honorary Professor, Department of Education, Panjab University, Chandigarhemphasised the need of writings and drafting of the writing again and again to make it publishable, at the inaugural session of 2 days National Seminar cum Workshop on Academic Writings: Addressing the contemporary challenges” organized by Department of Education, here today.

He mentioned   the detailed processes and the importance of academic writings in communicating our ideas. He showed his concern on the declining quality of publications in the present day.   He emphasised that writing is an expression of thought where one has to actively understand reach to the mind of the reader.

Prof. Shankar jiJha  DeanUniversity Instructions and officiating Vice Chancellorin his address said that  interdisciplinary research is need of the hour and expressed his concern  that Sanskrit has been neglected and needs to be bought to mainstream research area. He also mentioned that scholarly articles are the bridge to express our heritage and modern work.

Professor Lakhwinder Singh, Professor of Economics, Punjabi University, Patiala discussed that, to become a successful writer, the two lessons he learnt   that writing first line is the most difficult and right timing is very important for a writer to get his articles published. He extensively talked about the new era of knowledge economy where education has been transformed from being a public good to commercial/private good thus, has to a large extent been a stumble block in learning.  

Earliler, Dr.KuldeepKaur, Associate Professor, gave a brief introduction for the program and highlighted the various challenges associated with academic writing.

Prof. Latika Sharma, Chairperson, Department of Education, Panjab University paid gratitude to CALEM for bringing together the educationists of high repute for sharing their knowledge.

Prof.SatvinderpalKaur, program coordinator Department of Education introduced the theme of the program explaining the purpose and objectives of the two days.

Panel discussion on Contemporary Challenges before Academic writers was chaired by Professor KuldipPuri, USOL, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Professor Devinder Singh, Department of Law, Panjab University, Chandigarh discussed the issues of Plagiarism and Academic Integrity.

Two arrested for possessing illegal liquor

          Chandigarh Police arrested Surinder Kumar R/o # 151, Ward No.1, Govind Nagar, Dhuri, Sector-11, Chandigarh while he was illegally possessing 25 cases of gold marka whiskey in his grey accent car No. PB65E-4344 near Sector 14/25 turn, Dhanas road, Chandigarh on 20.11.2019. A case FIR No. 226, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

          Chandigarh Police arrested Pawan R/o Village Nurpur Dedi Saini Majra road near Shiv Mandir, Roop Nagar, PB, while he was illegally possessing 3 cases containing 30 bottles of gravity classes whiskey in his vehicle No. CH01TB-3645 near wine shop, Transport parking area, Sector 26, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 264, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Action against obstructing public way

A case FIR No. 259, U/S 283 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh against Mohammad Asraf Ali R/o # 1112, Village Burail, Chandigarh who was arrested while he was obstructing public way with rehri/fari near CMC Hospital, Sector 17, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

          Hariom Sharma R/o # 6358, Sector-56, Chandigarh reported that two unknown boys occupants of motorcycle number not known, snatched away complainant’s mobile phone  at Sector 55/56 dividing road on 20.11.2019. A case FIR No. 422, U/S 356 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Theft

          Baldev Kumar Verma R/o # 3120, Sector 37-D, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away gold items worth Rs. 5 lakh from complainant’s residence on 13.11.2019. A case FIR No. 421, U/S 380, 457, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Samdish R/o # 469, Village Kishangarh, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away battery from complainant’s E-Rickshaw No. CH01TE-1373 on 17.11.2019. A case FIR No. 245, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-IT park, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress. 

Accident

A case FIR No. 420, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the statement of Constable Shishpal of Traffic Staff, against unknown driver of car No. PB22M-9700, who hit to complainant’s Govt. motorcycle No. CH01GA-6357 near Sector 25/28 dividing road on 13.11.2019 and run away.  Complainant got injuries and admitted in GH-16, Chd. Investigation of the case is in progress.
