Three arrested under NDPS Act
Chandigarh Police arrested Jasbir Singh R/o # 1436/19, Sec-29, Chandigarh near MC Office, Ph-1, I/Area, Chandigarh and recovered 180 capsules of Tramadol Hydrochloride Dychlomine Hydrocloride Acreaminophen drugs from his possession on 07.08.2019. A case FIR No. 207, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Chandigarh Police arrested Ashwani Kumar R/o # 4137, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh near Paddy Mandi at slip road, Sector 39, Chandigarh and recovered 18 Injections (6 Pheniramine Maleate and 12 Buprenorphine drugs) from his possession on 07.08.2019. A case FIR No. 265, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Chandigarh Police arrested Sukhwinder Singh R/o Ward No. 6, Bhurare Road, Tehsil-Chamkaur Sahib, Distt. Rupnagar, (PB) near Paddy Mandi Chowk, Maloya, Chandigarh and recovered 6 gram heroin/smack from his possession on 07.08.2019. A case FIR No. 120, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested for consuming liquor at public place
A case U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC has been registered in PS-17 Chandigarh against one person who was arrested while consuming liquor at public place on 07.08.2019. Later he was released on bail.
Action against Gambling/Satta
Chandigarh Police arrested Vijay Kumar R/o # 2287, Sec-37/C Chandigarh, Om Parkash R/o # 2204/2, Sec-37/C Chandigarh, Dan Singh R/o # 2241/1, Sector-37/C Chandigarh and Harpal R/o # 2253, Sec-25/D, Chandigarh while they were gambling near SD Mandir, Sec-37/C, Chandigarh on 07-08-2019. Total cash Rs. 1140/- was recovered from their possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 264, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Later they were released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Action against obstructing public way
A case FIR No. 249, U/S 283 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh against Gupan R/o # 1070, Mori Gate, Manimajra, Chandigarh who was arrested while he was obstructing public way with Auto No. CH3(T)4116 near Kiran Cinema Sector-22, Chandigarh on 07.08.2019. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Accident
A case FIR No. 219, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh on the complaint of Munish Sharma R/o # 400/4, Smadhi Gate, MM, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of car No. CH01AG4140 namely Aman Preet R/o Vill-Barsi Gujjran, Tehsil Chamkaur Sahib, Distt. Roopnagar, (PB) hit to complainant’s M/Cycle No. UP78CU0096 near dividing road, Sector-9/10, Chandigarh on 04.08.2019. He got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh. Alleged car driver arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 177, U/S 279, 337 added 304A IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the statement of Ashish Sharma R/o # 5016/2, MHC, MM, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of unknown motor cycle hit to motor cycle No. HR49G3334 driven by Shubham S/o Yadwinder Sharma # 559, Himshikha Colony, Pinjore, Distt. Panchkula (HR) age 26 years near TPT light point, Chandigarh on 07.08.2019. He got injuries and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh, where he expired during treatment. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Dowry
A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Distt. Hoshiarpur (PB) harassed complainant to bring dowry. A case FIR No. 98, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.
Cheating
A case FIR No. 251, U/S 419, 420 IPC & 66D IT Act has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Swapanjit Shoo R/o # 634, Sec-16/D, Chandigarh who reported that he received phone call from mobile number and asked for add SBI account for LPG Subsidy. Complainant shared OTP received on his mobile phone resultantly alleged person done debit transaction of Rs. 9100/- from his account. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 204, U/S 420 IPC, 66(C), 66(D) IT Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Saloni Goel R/o # 1425 Sector-44/D, Chandigarh against unknown person who made multiple debit transactions of total Rs. 36800/- from complainant’s HSBC saving bank account towards UPI payment. Investigation of the case is in progress.
