पाकिस्तान से निबटने को तीनों सेनाध्यक्षों को दी खुली छूट : पीएमओ

नई दिल्ली: भारत के हवाई क्षेत्र में पाकिस्तान के लड़ाकू विमानों के घुसने और पड़ोसी देश में भारतीय वायुसेना के एक पायलट को हिरासत में लिए जाने के बाद बुधवार को सशस्त्र बलों के प्रमुखों ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को सुरक्षा की ताजा स्थिति की जानकारी दी. सूत्रों ने यह बताया. 

थल सेना, नौसेना और वायुसेना के प्रमुखों ने प्रधानमंत्री मोदी से पिछले 24 घंटों में दूसरी बार मुलाकात की है. सूत्रों ने बताया कि बुधवार शाम तीनों प्रमुखों ने प्रधानमंत्री से उनके आधिकारिक आवास पर मुलाकात की और उन्हें सुरक्षा के ताजा परिदृश्य की जानकारी दी.

पीएमओ में जुटे सुरक्षा और खुफिया विभाग के अधिकारी
इससे पहले, दिन में प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय (पीएमओ) में सुरक्षा एवं खुफिया विभाग के शीर्ष अधिकारी जुटे. पाकिस्तान में आतंकी संगठन जैश ए मोहम्मद के प्रशिक्षण शिविर पर मंगलवार सुबह किए गए भारत के हवाई हमले के बाद हुए नये घटनाक्रम के मद्देनजर वे पीएमओ पहुंचे थे. 

सूत्रों ने बताया कि दिन में राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सलाहकार (एनएसए) अजीत डोभाल, थलसेना, नौसेना और वायुसेना के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी तथा अन्य सुरक्षा अधिकारी मौजूदा सुरक्षा स्थिति पर चर्चा करने के लिए मिले.

शीर्ष रक्षा एवं सुरक्षा अधिकारियों ने बाद में प्रधानमंत्री को ताजा घटनाक्रमों की जानकारी दी, जिनमें हवाई झड़प भी शामिल है. इस घटना के तहत पाकिस्तान के एक लड़ाकू विमान को मार गिराया गया, जबकि भारतीय वायुसेना को भी अपना एक मिग 21 गंवाना पड़ा. इस कार्रवाई के दौरान मिग के पायलट “लापता” हो गए. 

जम्मू क्षेत्र के राजौरी में पाकिस्तान के एक एफ -16 लड़ाकू विमान को वायुसेना ने मार गिराया.

Archaeology Workshop at PU

        On the second day of three day workshop on “Numismatics : Study and Research’ organised by  the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology (AIHC&A), Panjab University, Chandigarh  in collaboration with the Department of Archaeology and Museums, Haryana and Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi, the  Academic session on 27th February, 2019, it was chaired by Prof.S.S. Saini, Head Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology, Kurukshetra University. 
        Prof. Saini highlighted the importance of research methodology.  In this session the Research Scholars  and students from various Universities  of  India and abroad presented their research papers.  
        First paper was presented by Mr. Jappen Oberoi, Research Scholar of AIHC & A, Panjab University on ‘Prakasaditya and the case of Mistaken Identity’.  
        Ms ShriyaGautam, an independent scholar from Oxford presented a paper  on the “ Scientific techniques to study Ancient Indian Coins”.  She highlighted the significance of Archaeomettalurgyin the field of numismatics. 
         Several other students also presented papers on different aspects of 
numismatics.  
        The afternoon session began at the Museum of the Department of AIHC & A on the techniques of minting coins by Sh. Ravi Shankar Sharma, Secretary, Numismatics Society of  Calcutta. He gave presentation on various techniques of minting coins and then began a  practical session.  The students and the faculty members participated actively in this workshop and minted coins using techniques like die struck, repousse 
and droplet method.  The Numismatic Society of Calcutta has put up a exhibition of rare coins in the Museum of the department.  The students were made aware about how to distinguish between real and a fake coin.
          The technical session was full of practical experience. The lively 
interaction with the scholars who have come from different corners of the country, marked the success of the second day of the workshop.  

Two days International Conference on Global Issues in Management

        University Business School (UBS), Panjab University(PU), ushered the 
exploration of issues that the business world faces in form of an International Conference on Global Issues  in Management. 
        The conference was organized by UBS in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK and Western Sydney University (WSU), Australia. The objective of the conference was to promote collaborative excellence between academicians and professionals from the corporate world. It was an endeavour to bring the various stakeholders of education industry onto common platform, in order to understand 
perceptions and prerequisites of other stakeholders. 
The conference was organized by Dr. Purva Kansal, Dr. Tejinder Pal singh and Dr. Tilak Raj under the guidance of the chairperson of UBS Prof. Deepak Kapur. 
        According to Dr. Purva Kansal, conference coordinator, the conference  was spread over two days i.e. 25th and 26th Feb 2019., Research Symposium and Research Workshop titled “Issues in Management and Research” was organized in UBS on 25th of February 2019. 
        Members of both NTU and WSU deliberated on a wide range of topics like Management Challenges in the era of Knowledge Economy / research methodologies, problems and solution in the area of social research to academic writing to Financial Resilience in Local Governments. 
        There were six resource persons for this workshop i.e. Prof. Athula Ginige, Deans Unit School of Computing, Engineering & Math, WSU, Sydney; Dr. Simi Bajaj, ACA – Information Systems (Parramatta), Computing & ICT, Lecturer,, Computing & ICT, WSU, Sydney; Prof. Wayne Fallon, Associate Dean, International (India), Human Resources and Management (SoBus) Senior Lecturer, Human Resources and Management (SoBus), WSU, 
Sydney; Prof. Premaratne Samaranayake, Sr. Lecturer, Human Resources and Management (SoBus), WSU, Sydney; Prof. William Rossiter, Associate Professor Nottingham Business School Staff Group(s) Department of Economics, NTU, UK and  Prof. Martin Jones, Head of Department Nottingham Business School Department of Accounting and Finance, NTU, UK. The resource persons deliberated on wide range of issues and provided the audience a platform to understand research happening get international level and also helping them understand the nuances of international collaborations and research. 
        Research workshop was inaugurated by  Prof. Keshav Malhotra, Dean of management and commerce and the keynote speaker to this workshop was Prof. S.K. Chadha.  On the second day the conference was inaugurated by Andrew Ayre, British Deputy High Commissioner, Chandigarh, India. Mr. Ayre stressed on the need for more such initiatives.  He highlighted that success is not how ones organization runs when you are threre, but how it runs when you are not there. 

        Prof. William Rossiter talked about International Value chains and Issues researchers should be looking at in international research.

        The panel discussion was moderated by Prof. Anupam Bawa on a theme titled “Managing Businesses Across Countires – A cross cultural perspective”.  The panel members consisted of Ms Komal Sharma Talwar, Founder, TT Consultants & XLPAT Labs, Mr Katsuharu Tanaka, Executive Vice President ( Projects),  SML Isuzu Ltd., Dr. Wayne Fallon, Associate Dean International School of Business, Western Sydney University, Dr. Anton Reinfelder, Managing Director, Groz-Beckert Asia and Mr. Viney Sharma, 
former Economic Times Bureau Chief, now based in Toronto and writes on Indian Diaspora. 
        The panel discussed various issues that plague the cross cultural businesses and how expatriates can be conditioned to cross cultural issues. The discussion also talked about issues the effects of the culture and global citizenship and how companies accustomed to global vs local debate. 
        The panel discussion was followed by paper presentation. Talking about the conference Prof. Deepak Kapur, Chairman UBS said that there were 12 sessions in all and there were more than 100 paper presentations  in area of finance, marketing., Human resource, operations  and  strategy. The conference was attended by participants all over India. The coordinators have published selected papers with six journals.

‘मेरा बूथ सबसे मजबूत’ कार्यक्रम के तहत देशभर के भाजपा के बूथस्तर के कार्यकर्ताओं से सीधा संवाद करेंगे प्रधानमंत्री

Training program under “Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna” 2nd day

        Yesterday, a training course on Food and Beverage and Retailer under “Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna” was started by Chandigarh Police in premises of Police Station Sector-26, Chandigarh. Training under these courses i.e. Food & Beverage and Retailer is being imparted in two batches consisting total 60 students/youth from 10 AM to 2 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM. Today, 45 children participated in this training course. Chandigarh Police has tied up with National Skill Development Corporation for imparting training in various sectors like healthcare, retail, hospitality, beauty and wellness etc. Earlier, a mega counseling session was held by Chandigarh Police for selecting the youth to choose their courses according to their interest and caliber. Ms. Nilambari Jagadale, IPS, SSP/UT is the Nodal Officer for this project. This is an initiative of Chandigarh Police that aims to engage with the youth by imparting and upgrading their skills as per their natural dispensation. The vision of this programme is to channelize the energies of the youth in productive manner for a more empowered, aware and safe society. Training under other vocational courses like (1) Beauty and wellness (2) General Duty Hospital Assistant (3) Retail Store Assistant will be started soon. We are covering youth from colony/slum area in this program. Training is being provided free of cost. Victims of crime, students from poor family, youth vulnerable to drugs addiction etc are being provided free training so that they can be integrated into mainstream society.

UILS setup Mobile Legal Aid Clinics in various hostels at PU

        Legal Aid Society, University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab 
University, Chandigarh, on Thursday set up Mobile Legal Aid Clinics in various hostels of Panjab University including Boys Hostel No. 2, Boys Hostel No. 4, Girls Hostel 7 and Girls Hostel No. 8 to provide free legal aid to the residents and the staff of these hostels.
        Legal Aid Society, UILS has been providing legal aid to the members of the society who cannot afford a counsel to file or to defend the cases against them. The Legal Aid Clinic was established under the UT State Legal Services Authority in 2012 and has been working ever since to provide solution to the public approaching us in various matters including matrimonial disputes, labour disputes and consumer matters under the guidance of Prof. Sangita Bhalla, Prof. Rattan Singh, Dr. Amita Verma and 
Dr. Karan Jawanda. The Legal Aid Clinic, UILS functions every Tuesday and Thursday from 4p.m. to 5 p.m. where it entertains the cases from the general public including the students from UILS and other Departments,the members of the staff and members of the society. 
        The Clinic has worked on around 200 cases since inception. The aim of legal aid clinic is not only to provide an advocate for their case, but also to try to resolve the dispute at the initial stage before the case is filed in the court through mediation.
        These mobile clinics were set up in continuance of the previous drive by the Students of Legal Aid Society in the Hostels with the support of the Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. Emanual Nahar and the wardens of Hostels namely Dr. Bharat, Dr. Virender Negi, Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Dr. Jai Mala and Dr. Anupam Bahriwherein the students not only provided Legal Aid but also conducted an awareness lecture in the hostel on various topics relating to the legal rights of the people which are violated on daily basis unknown to them.
        With the help of the wardens of these hostels this awareness drive was a success this time too. With their support, the volunteers of the Legal Aid Clinic were able to once again interact with the students, mess workers and other staff and not only aware them of their rights and duties but were also successful in taking up the issues faced by them and resolve them under the guidance of our teachers and the wardens of the hostels.

Pillai, Director, Institute of English, Centre for Cultural Studies, University of Kerela, spoke eloquently on the dynamics governing the popularity of cinema and it’s role in the propagation of gendered stereotypes.The representation of women in Indian cinema was examined and the underpinning ideological positions were exposed and questioned.

The Five days International Gian Workshop on “Fashion and Textile Design” at PU

          The Five days International Gian Workshop on “Fashion and Textile Design kick started in the Department of SAIF/CIL, Panjab University.

          Prof. Devinder Singh, Secretary Vice Chancellor, Panjab University in his address while extending his wishes for the workshop, said that fashion is a visible profession with different perception for different people. He added that it is a profession full of creativity to sell globally.

          Ms. Juliana Sissons from Nottingham Trent University who is a designer and lecturer in Pattern Cutting and Design through 3D form was the guest faculty. She thanked the organizers for this opportunity and hopes that event to be a successful one. 

          Dr HPS Kang, SAIF/CIL started the inaugural proceedings by welcoming the august gathering and sharing the importance of the workshop in today’s world.

          Prof. Prabhdip Brar, Chairperson, University Institute of Fashion Technology and Vocational development, Panjab University, Chandigarh delineated the main objectives of the workshop, focussing on methodology of ‘shape making’, creating starting points for further development and developing a more conceptual approach to pattern cutting to enhance creativity.           The primary aim of the workshop is to incorporate ‘Lifestyle’ management in the professional and personal life of every student, to evaluate each student’s progress and to provide the institution continuous feedback on the performance of all the participants taking part in the course.  

Airforce operation in PAK a prominent subject in Declamation contests at PU

            The issue of IAF strike in Pakistan, dominated the proceedings of declamation contests in PU today as participants spoke at K.K. Grover and A.C.Bali Declamation Competition organized by Department of Hindi, today at Gandhi Bhawan. A total of 37 students from various colleges and university departments participated in the event.

             Dr. Gurmeet Singh, Chairperson, Dept. of Hindi, informed that, Professor Nandita Singh, Dean International Students, P.U was the chief guest for the K.K. Grover contest and Professor Baijnath Prasad presided over the session. He also informed that Professor R.K. Singla, Dean Research, PU was the chief guest for the A.C. Bali Contest and Dr Ashok Kumar presided over the session.

            The K.K Grover and A.C. Bali Declamation Contest is an annual event conducted by Department of Hindi and provides an opportunity for students to showcase their oratory skills. It also provides a platform to voice their opinions and ideas on socially relevant and topical issues. In the K.K. Grover Declamation Contest today, Bhumika (UILS) bagged the first position; Neha (Master Tara Singh College, Ludhiana) stood second and Rachna (Hindi dept) took the third position. In the A.C.Bali Declamation Contest; Richa singh(Master Tara Singh College Ludhiana) stood first, Kumar Gautam (UILS) stood second and Rinku kumari ( SCD College, Ludhiana) stood third. The winners will be rewarded in the annual convocation of the Panjab University. The judges for today’s event were esteemed faculty members from Panjab University- Dr. Pankaj Shrivastav from Dept of Philosophy, Dr. Ali Abas from Dept of Urdu, Dr. Vinod Chaudhary from Dept of Sociology, Dr. Namita Gupta from Center for Human Rights and Duties, Dr. Praveen Goyal from UIET and Dr. Bhavneet Bhatti from SCS. The program was anchored by Manjinder and Shakuntala, research scholars from the Department. The program concluded with distribution of certificates and Dr. Gurmeet Singh presented the vote of thanks. Faculty from different departments of PU also attended the function.

CJPC with CDTI organising a workshop for law students at PU

The Criminal Justice Practicum Cell (CJPC) of University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University in collaboration with Central Detective Training Institute(BPRD) will be organizing a workshop, on 28th February, 2019 on Crime Scene Management and Analysis at University Institute of Legal Studies(UILS), PU, Chandigarh. It will be organized under the mentorship of Prof. Rattan Singh, Director, UILS and under the guidance of Mrs. Anju Choudhary, Assistant Professor (Law), Coordinator – Criminal Justice Practicum Cell. The workshop is aimed at educating the students with the 
practical knowledge of Law and Evidence relating to Crime Scene. The students will be briefed on the role of Investigation Officer and Forensic team at the Crime Scene. 
Dummy Crime Scenes relating to Rape & Murder, and Bomb Blast will be created by the CDTI Team and the students will experience a first hand procedure followed by the Investigating Agency at the Crime scene. The lecture will be delivered by Sh. L.S. Rana, Deputy Director (Retd), CFSL, Punjab, who is an expert in Forensic Investigation.
