पंचकुला जिला में पहली बार के मतदाताओं को उनके मताधिकार के प्रति जागरूकता अभियान

पंचकूला, 22 अक्तूबर:
भारत निर्वाचन आयोग के निर्देशानुसार जिला में आम नागरिकों एवं विद्यार्थियों को वोट की महता बारे जागरूक करने के लिए विभिन्न शिक्षण महाविद्यालयों एवं पंचायत कार्यालयों में 23 अक्तूबर से 5 नवंबर तक 15 से अधिक जागरूकता शिविर आयोजित किए जाएगें।
उपायुक्त एवं जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी मुकुल कुमार ने इस बारे जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि इन जागरूकता शिविरों में चुनाव संचालन प्रक्रिया व इवीएम वीवीपेटस के संचालन के संबध में विश्वसनियता हेतू जनता को जागरूक किया जाना है। इसके लिए अधिकारियों की डयूटी लगाई गई है जो समय समय पर इन शिविरों में भाग लेकर आम जन एंव विद्यार्थियों को वोट बनवाने एवं इसके प्रयोग बारे जागरूक करने का कार्य करेंगें। उन्होंने बताया कि 23 अक्तूबर को राजकीय महाविद्यालय सैक्टर 1 व औद्योगिक प्रशिक्षण संस्थान सैक्टर 14 में शिविर आयोजित कर विद्यार्थियों को वोट की महता बारे जागरूक किया जाएगा। इसी प्रकार 25 अक्तूबर को राजकीय महाविद्यालय बरवाला में विद्यार्थियों तथा खण्ड विकास एवं पंचायत अधिकारी कार्यालय बरवाला में आम जन एवं पंचायत प्रतिनिधियों को जागरूक किया जाएगा।
  उपायुक्त ने बताया कि 26 अक्तूबर को राजकीय महाविद्यालय कालका, खण्ड विकास एवं पंचायत अधिकारी कार्यालय पिंजौर तथा औद्योगिक प्रशिक्षण संस्थान पिंजोर में तीन शिविर आयोजित वोट बनवाने तथा उनके प्रयोग बारे जनता एवं विद्यार्थियों को अवगत करवाया जाएगा। इसी प्रकार 27 को अक्तूबर राजकीय कन्या महाविद्यालय सेक्टर 14 तथा 29 अक्तूबर को देवी दयाल इंजिनियंरिंग महाविद्यालय बरवाला व पंचकूला इंजीनियरिंग महाविद्यालय मोली में शिविर आयोजित किए जाएगें।  उन्होंने बताया कि 30 अक्तूबर को औद्योगिक प्रशिक्षण संस्थान व खण्ड विकास एवं पंचायत अधिकारी कार्यालय परिसर रायपुर रानी व बीरआरएस डैंटल महाविद्यालय जलौली में वोट की महता बारे शिविर आयोजित किए जाएगें।
श्री कुमार ने बताया कि निर्वाचन विभाग द्वारा 5 नव बर को महिला पोलटैक्निकल कालेज एंव खण्ड विकास एवं पंचायत अधिकारी मोरनी के कार्यालय परिसर में शिविर आयोजित कर लोगों को वोट बनवाने के लिए पे्ररित किया जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि आयोग के निदेशानुसार नए वोट बनवाने तथा नाम शुद्विकरण करवाने तथा जिला की विधानसभा क्ष़ेत्र में अपना पता बदलवाने का कार्य भी किया जा रहा है। इसलिए जिन युवाओं की आयु एक जनवरी 2019 को 18 वर्ष हो जाएगी वे अपना नया वोट 30 अक्तूबर तक बनवा सकते है।

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 11 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 11 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-11 = 1 cases, PS-17 = 1 case, PS-26 = 1 case,  PS-MJ = 2 cases, PS-31 = 2 cases,  PS-34= 1 case, PS-36 = 3 cases.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Chandigarh Police arrested Sandeep @ Sunny R/o # 51, Sheetla Mata Mandir, BDC Colony, Sector-26, Chandigarh near Panj Peer Dargah, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 21-10-2018, while he was using fake Registration number CH-01T-3006 on Activa Scooter. He had alleged that he was constantly threatened by church officials for supporting the nun, who had alleged that she was raped by the bishop.


Father Kuriakose Kattuthara, who testified against Bishop Franco Mulakkal in the case of alleged rape of a nun in Kerala, died under mysterious circumstances on Monday morning.

According to his relatives, he was found dead in a room attached to a church at Dasuya in Punjab.

“The 62-year-old Father Kuriakose used to live at St. Paul’s Church in Dasuya and he was found unconscious today (Monday) morning in his room. Later, he was taken to hospital where he was declared dead,” said Daljit Singh Khakh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur.

Mr. Khakh added that ”no injuries have been found on the body, he had vomited on bed and tablet of blood pressure were found near him. A panel of doctors will conduct the postmortem examination, following which the cause of death could be ascertained.”

The relatives have filed a complaint with Alappuzha District police chief. S. Surendran, demanding a detailed probe into the death of the 67-year-old priest, who hailed from Pallippuram near Cherthala in Alappuzha..

Fr. Kattuthara had alleged that he was constantly threatened by church officials for supporting the nun belonging to the Missionaries of Jesus under the Jalandhar diocese.

Bishop Mulakkal was arrested on September 21on a case registered by the Kuravilangad police in Kottayam district. He was granted bail by the Kerala High Court on October 15 under stringent conditions.

The nun had alleged that she had been raped by the bishop from May 5, 2014 to May 6, 2016 on 14 occasions in a room attached to the St. Francis Mission Home, Kuruvilangad.
