Adopt stringent measure to prevent the illegal drug menace  in Punjab : Giani  Gurbachan Singh

Amritsar, June 29, 2018:

Jathedar of Akal Takht, the highest Sikh temporal seat, Giani  Gurbachan Singh here today has asked the Punjab Government to adopt stringent measure to prevent the illegal drug menace  in Punjab as Punjab Police remained utterly failure to perform its duty.

Jathedar said it was the duty of Punjab Police as well as Punjab Government to maintain law and order in Punjab but Punjab police couldn’t perform its duty honesty as some people in the force were found involved in illegal drug trade.

Adding further he said that here it didn’t mean that entire police was accountable for drug menace but few black sheep were there, needed to be identified in order to save Punjab and its youth.

He said that it was the duty of Punjab government to identify all bad elements working in the Government system so that they could be punished. He said that people who were supporting the drug trade in Punjab should also not be spared as there was need to disclose their identity before the public to get them punished.

Jathedar expressed his gratitude to Punjab Government for extending financial help to Jodhpur detainees, said that it was highly appreciable step of Punjab Government to Sikh community.

He asked that State Government to do the needful for the youth of Punjab who were badly addicted as they were needed medical treatment as well as counselling besides mandatory de-addiction treatment.
