Admission Open for July, 2018 Session in IGNOU

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started the process of online admission for the session July, 2018 for all the programmes.  The interested applicants can apply through the online link:  https://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in/  available on IGNOU websitewww.ignou.ac.in The last date for admission in all the Masters, Bachelors, PG Diploma/Diploma and Certificate Programmes is 15th July, 2018 without late fee. All those applicants of age 18 years or above, who wish to do Bachelor’s Degree of IGNOU but do not have 10+2 may take admission in Bachelor’s Preparatory Programme (BPP). After successful completion of BPP they become eligible for admission to IGNOU’ non-formal stream of BA/BCOM etc. The applicants may contact the Regional Centre Chandigarh office for any assistance in online admission. The admission fee is exempted for SC/ST learners for all Bachelors, PG Diploma, Diploma, BPP and  Certificate programmes in IGNOU. The University has taken a decision to give 100% fee exemption to Transgenders enrolling in any programme of IGNOU. The interested applicants may visit the nearest IGNOU Study Centre for any query related to admission. PU DUI awarded for contribution to Sanskrit

           Shankar Ji Jha, Dean University Instruction, Panjab University, Chandigarh was conferred an award of recognition for outstanding contribution to Sanskrit Literature/Language by Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi at its Annual Award Ceremony held here today. He received the award from Sh. V.P. Badnore, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and the Administrator of Union Territory, Chandigarh. The award consisted of a  shawl, citation and award money of Rs. 51,000/-.

Hon’ble Governor of Punjab & the Administrator of Chandigarh,  Shri V.P. Badnore, and Smt. Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament will be unveiling the plaque of Dewan Anand Kumar Ji, inauguration of new T-1, Flats at PU South Campus and inauguration of GH-10 on May 29, 2018. The background material for the three spots is as given below:-

Dewan Anand Kumar Hall: Dewan Anand Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Panjab University (August 1, 1949 to June 30, 1959) was the founding father of the present day Panjab University in the truest sense of the word. He exerted tremendous effort in building the University from a scratch, post 1947 and created a campus at Chandigarh which is envious in terms of space, aesthetics and its futuristic amenability to expansion. 1958, the Registrar’s Office was shifted to Dewan Anand Kumar Hall surrounded with beautiful landscape covered with trees and flower plants.

T-1 Flats, PU South Campus, Sector-25, Chandigarh: 30 flats for Professors/Associate Professors are ready for inauguration. Each flat consists of 3 bed rooms, one study room, attached bathrooms, separate drawing cum dining room and modular kitchen.

Neerja Bhanot Girls Hostel # 10: The new girl’s hostel at PU, is named after Neerja Bhanot, the youngest recipient of India’s highest peacetime Gallantry Award, the Ashoka Chakra. The hostel will accommodate as many as 336 students. It consists of 38 rooms with attached washrooms and 130 normal rooms. All rooms will be sufficient for two people. The rooms are well lit with sufficient and separate space for reading. It has a seminar hall also.

पंजाबी फिल्म अशीश का ट्रेलर देव सिनेमा में रिलीज

22 जून को देश विदेश के सिनेमों का श्रंगार बनने जा रही पंजाबी फिल्म अशीश का ट्रेलर आज स्थानीय इंडस्ट्रीयल एरिया में स्थित देव सिनेमा में रिलीज किया गया। फिल्म के निर्देशक लेखक व प्रसिद्ध अदाकार राणा रनबीर ने बताया कि फिल्म में मां- बेटे के पवित्र रिश्ते व सच्चे प्यार की कहानी को आधार बना कर इसको इस किस्म की रंगत दी गई है कि फिल्म पंजाबी सिनेमा जगत में नए कीर्तिमन स्थापित करेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि फिल्म की कहानी,फिल्मांकन व संगीत आदि के चयन करते समय बड़ी संजीदगी से काम किया गया है।
उन्होंने कहा कि फिल्म के गीतों को संगीत तेजवंत किट्टू व रूपिन काहलों ने दिया है जबकि गीतों की रचना गिल रौता,अमर कवि व उन्होंने खुद की है। फिल्म के प्रोडिऊसर लवप्रीत सिद्धू ने कहा कि अशाश एक अलग विषय पर बनी ऐसी फिल्म है जो हर वर्ग के दर्शकों की पर्ख की कसौटी पर खरी उतरेगी। उन्होंने बताया कि फिल्म की प्रोडक्शन में प्रदीप संधू ने उनका साथ निभाया है। फिल्म के मुख्य अदाकार
कुलजिंदर सिद्धू पर्दे पर नजर अाएंगे जबकि अदाकारा के रूप में नेहा पवार उनका साथ देगी। उन्होंने बताया कि फिल्म का संगीत प्रसिद्ध कंपनी सागा म्यूजिक द्धारा रीलीज किया गया है। उन्होंने कहा कि फिल्म की पूरी टीम ने इसके सफल फिल्मांकण के लिए पूरी मेहनत की है,इसके साथक नतीजे जरूर मिलेंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि भले ही फिल्म का विषय काफी संजीदा लगता है लेकिन इसमें गंभीरता के साथ साथ मनोरंजन का भी भंडार है।
इस मौके पर कुलजिंदर सिद्धू ने कहा कि जहां फिल्म की कहानी दर्शकों को आकर्षित करने वाली है। वहीं फिल्म का संगीत भी कानों में मिठास भरने वाला है। उन्होंने बताया कि फिल्म मोटे तौरपर दर्शकों की कचहिरी में यह संदेश छोड़ेगी कि भोले व इमानदार लोग कभी जिंदगी में फेल नहीं होते। उन्होंने बताया कि भले ही प्रसिद्ध गायक व एक्टर गिप्पी ग्रेवाल ने इस फिल्म में गेस्ट एक्टर की भूमिका निभाई है लेकिन उनकी भूमिका दमदार है। इसके अलावा सरदार सोही,रूपिंदर रूपी, सीमा कौशल, मलकीत रौनी, चरनप्रीत मान, कॉमेडी कलाकार रघवीर बोली,शविंद्र विक्की, सैमूयल जॉहन,जग्गी धूरी,रविंदर मंडी,श्वीन रेखी,दिलराज,उदय व गुरप्रीत भंगू आदि भी विभिन्न किरदार निभाएंगे।

Chandigarh police cracked theft and burglaries

Chandigarh police achieved a major success by nabbing the person namely (1). Sanju S/O Saran Kumar R/O # 222 Majri Chowk Old PKl (HR) AGE 18 yrs, (2). Vicky S/O Madan R/O # 581 Near Killa Mani Majra Chd AGE 19 yrs (3) Joginder @ Titu S/O Ram Krishan 2135 Vikas Nagar Mouli Jagran Age 19 yrs who were involved in vehicle Theft and Burglary cases case within very short span.
On 18.05.18, a case FIR NO. 232 U/S 379 IPC PS MM was registered on the complaint of Sh. Kulwant Singh S/o Balak Ram H no. 2554, Mari wala Town, Mani Majra Chandigarh who stated that on 17/05/18 at night, His Car Maruti ZEN No. CH03L 1800 which was parked near H no. 5328, MHC, MM, Chandigarh but in the morning, he saw Amplifier, woofer and some valuable documents, Bank UKO copy were found stolen from car by unknown person and some other articles were also stolen from other 4-5 vehicles.

A team of SHO Mani Majra Insp. Ranjit Singh along with others officials has constituted under the supervision of DSP Sh. Satish Kumar SDPO East to nab the accused. On 26.05.18, as per the secret information above said person were arrested during naka near RIMT school Mani Majra in above said case and stolen articles recovered.

During the course of further investigation they disclosed about their other associates, thefts and burglaries.

All persons namely Sanju S/O Saran Kumar R/O # 222 Majri Chowk Old PKl (HR) AGE 18 yrs, Vicky S/O Madan R/O # 581 Near Killa Mani Majra Chd AGE 19 yrs and Joginder @ Titu S/O Ram Krishan 2135 Vikas Nagar Mouli Jagran Age 19 yrs have used above said vehicle in theft, Burglary. They parked the same in the free parking of Chandigarh. VALUE RECOVERED  PPROX. Rs. 5, LAKH. It came to light that 7 cases of Vehicle theft already registered at PS Panchkula Sec. 5 and others against Sanju S/O Saran Kumar R/O # 222 Majri Chowk Old PKl (HR) AGE 18 yrs.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 11 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 11 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-11 = 1 case, PS-17 = 2 cases, PS-IA = 1 case, PS-MM = 1 case, PS-IT Park = 2 cases, PS-MJ = = 2 cases, PS-36 = 1 case, PS-Maloya = 1 case. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Attempt to suicide

A case FIR No. 227, U/S 309 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh against a person resident of Sector 40, Chandigarh who attempt to suicide by consuming poison at his house on 27.05.2018. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Abetment to suicide

A case FIR No. 228, U/S 309, 109, 120B IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of a person resident of Sector 40, Chandigarh against Ramesh Kumar R/o Booth No. 41, Sector 22, Chandigarh, a lady and others who harassed complainant and incited him to commit suicide. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Quarrel

A case FIR No. 129, U/S 341, 323, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh on the complaint of Parveen Kumar R/o H.No. 536, DMC, Chandigarh who alleged that Kala Tiwari R/o H.No. 1513, DMC, Chandigarh beaten/threatened complainant near H.No. 5568, Sector-38 (west), Chandigarh on 26.05.2018. Alleged person arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Banks on 2 days strike from 30th May 2018

The country’s largest lender SBI today said its services may be impacted on May 30-31 if the proposed strike by various bankemployees’ unions take place.
The bank unions have been pressing for various demands, including wage revision in the wake of the proposal for a 2 per cent hike in salary.

State Bank of India said the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) has communicated to the bank that the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBA) has served a notice to go on a nationwide bank strike on May 30-31, 2018.

UFBU is an umbrella body of various bank unions like AIBEA, AIBOC, NCBE, AIBOA, BEFI, INBEF, INBOC, NOBW and NOBO.

“All India State Bank Officers’ Federation and All India State Bank of India Staff Federation are members of UFBU. Thus, it is likely that our bank will also be impacted to some extent by the said strike calls,” SBI said in a regulatory filing.

According to an UFBU circular, earlier on May 16, it gave a memorandum to IBA followed by demonstrations. It also gave memorandum to the finance ministry and labour ministry.
