“The way sanctity, religious belief, and the serenity of Sabarimala have been attacked shows the real face of CPI-M,” the two organisations said in a joint statement.

Joining voices with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), two Hindu organisations, namely Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha and Delhi Sant Mahamandal on Saturday denounced the alleged action of the Kerala Police on the devotees of Sabarimala temple.

They also alleged that the real face of the CPI-M has been exposed.

“The way sanctity, religious belief, and the serenity of Sabarimala have been attacked shows the real face of CPI-M,” the two organisations said in a joint statement.

On Friday, the VHP had also condemned the action of the Kerala Police over the devotees.

Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha and Delhi Sant Mahamandal alleged that the Kerala Police lathi-charged the devotees.

“However, despite the brute force of administration, Kerala government could not force the Hindu devotees to submit. This is a victory of faith and devotion,” they said.

The organisations also thanked the devotees saying “they were trying to save the tradition of Sabarimala.”

“The role of the CPI-M has always remained under question on the issue of saving the rights of women,” said the two outfits attacking the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M).

They pointed out that the Hindu community has never been anti-women.

“But there has been a tradition of temples and one has to respect that. And due to these different traditions, India has unity in diversity,” they said.

कैसी विडम्बना है कि वामपंथी सरकार यह पता लगाने में अक्षम हैं कि कौन श्रद्धालु और कौन सामाजिक विघ्ट्न कारी  शक्तियाँ हैं।

रेहना फातिमा एक मुस्लिम ओर कविता जककल ईसाई, इन्हें अचानक ही सनातन धर्म ओर देवी देवताओं में क्या दिलचस्पी हो गयी?

सबरीमाला मंदिर में बीते 17 अक्टूबर को ही देश के अलग-अलग हिस्सों से महिलाएं दर्शन के लिए पहुंचने वाली थीं. कई महिलाएं यहां पहुंची भी, लेकिन दुर्भाग्यवश सुप्रीमकोर्ट के फैसले के बावजूद प्रदर्शनकारी और  हिंदू संगठनों की महिलाएं उन्हें भीतर प्रवेश करने नहीं दे रहीं.

भगवा झंडे के तले ये प्रदर्शनकारी बीते कई दिनों से मंदिर को घेरे खड़े हैं. इसके बावजूद महिलाओं द्वारा मंदिर में प्रवेश करने की कोशिश जारी है.

शुक्रवार को भारी पुलिस सुरक्षा के बीच सबरीमाला में महिलाओं के प्रवेश की मांग करने वाली एक्टिविस्ट ‘रेहाना फातिमा’ और हैदराबाद की पत्रकार कविता जक्कल पूरी तैयारी के साथ मंदिर पहुंची. लेकिन प्रदर्शनकारियों की फौज ने उन्हें मंदिर से 500 मीटर की दूरी पर ही रोक दिया. ये दोनों ही महिलाएं अकेले नहीं थी, बल्कि 150 जवानों की सुरक्षा में मंदिर की ओर बढ़ रही थी. इसके बावजूद प्रदर्शनकारियों ने उन्हें आगे जाने नहीं दिया.

Kerala: The house of woman activist Rehana Fatima in Kochi was vandalised by unidentified miscreants earlier today. She had gone up to the this morning under police protection & returned midway after a meeting with Kerala IG.

मामला यहीं पर खत्म नहीं हुआ. जिस समय रेहाना मंदिर में प्रवेश करने का संघर्ष कर रही थीं, ठीक उसी समय कुछ ही किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित उनके घर को प्रदर्शनकारियों ने निशाना बना लिया. रेहाना की गैर-हाजिरी में उन्होंने पूरे घर को तहस-नहस कर दिया.

केरल के आईजी श्रीजीत ने कहा कि यह माहौल किसी आपदा के जैसा है. हमने उन्हें पूरी सुरक्षा के साथ मंदिर तक पहुंचाया,लेकिन दर्शन ऐसी चीज है कि वो बिना पुजारियों की सहमति के नहीं हो सकता. हम केवल सुरक्षा दे सकते हैं.

उधर राज्य देवासम (धार्मिक ट्रस्ट) मंत्री के. सुंदरन ने कहा कि सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता जैसे कुछ लोग ही मंदिर में घुसने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं, सरकार के लिए यह पता लगाना मुश्किल है कि कौन श्रद्धालु और कौन सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता है? उन्होंने कहा कि हम जानते हैं कि वहां दो महिलाएं हैं, जिनमें एक पत्रकार है.

वहीं आप के बागी विधायक कपिल मिश्रा ने भी रेहाना पर टिप्पणी करते हुए कहा कि सच्चाई तो यह है कि सुप्रीम कोर्ट के फैसले के बावजूद कोई भी महिला श्रद्धालु सबरीमाला में घुसना नहीं चाहती. आज ही एक मुस्लिम महिला रेहाना फातिमा और पेड पत्रकार कविता मंदिर में प्रवेश करना चाहती थीं. जबकि भगवान अयप्पा को पूजने का उनका कोई इतिहास ही नहीं है. हिंदू आप इस दिन को याद रखिएगा.

इस पर रेहाना ने प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए कहा, जो हमें रोक रहे हैं, वो कहां से श्रद्धालु हैं. मैं जानना चाहती हूं कि इसके पीछे का कारण क्या है. आप मुझे बताइए कि श्रद्धालु कैसे बनते हैं, फिर मैं आपको बताऊंगी की मैं श्रद्धालु हूं या नहीं. मुझे नहीं पता कि मेरे बच्चों को क्या हुआ. मेरी जान भी खतरे में है पर वो कह रहे हैं कि हमें सुरक्षा प्रदान करेंगे.

पिछली सिद्धरमैया सरकार ने कर्नाटक विधानसभा चुनाव में लिंगायत कार्ड खेला था, जिसके बाद कांग्रेस को कई सीटों का नुकसान उठाना पड़ा

कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता एवं कर्नाटक के जल संसाधन मंत्री डी. के. शिवकुमार ने स्वीकार किया है कि उनकी पार्टी ने मई में हुए विधानसभा चुनाव से ठीक पहले लिंगायत समुदाय को धार्मिक अल्पसंख्यक का दर्जा देने की सिफारिश कर एक ‘बड़ी गलती’ की थी. शिवकुमार ने दशहरा सम्मेलन में लोगों से माफी मांगते हुए कहा कि धर्म के नाम पर राजनीति अस्वीकार्य है.

पिछली सिद्धरमैया सरकार ने कर्नाटक विधानसभा चुनाव में लिंगायत कार्ड खेला था, जिसके बाद कांग्रेस को कई सीटों का नुकसान उठाना पड़ा. शिवकुमार के इस खुले कबूलनामे ने 2019 के लोकसभा चुनाव से पहले राज्य में विपक्षी बीजेपी को एक संभावित हथियार दे दिया है.

भगवा पार्टी ने सिद्धरमैया नीत सरकार पर राजनीतिक फायदे के लिए समाज को बांटने का आरोप लगाया था. शिवकुमार ने कहा, ‘कर्नाटक में हमारी सरकार ने एक बड़ी गलती की थी. मैं नहीं कहूंगा कि हमने यह नहीं किया था. राजनीति और सरकार में मौजूद हम लोगों को धर्म और जाति से जुड़े विषयों में कभी हाथ नहीं डालना चाहिए. हमारी सरकार ने यह अपराध किया.’

कांग्रेस का खराब प्रदर्शन दर्शाता है कि हमारे इस कदम को नहीं पसंद किया गया

उन्होंने यह भी स्वीकार किया कि विधानसभा चुनाव में कांग्रेस का खराब प्रदर्शन इस बात का सबूत है कि लोगों ने इस कदम को पसंद नहीं किया. बाद में  बेंगलुरू में शिवकुमार ने कहा कि बतौर मंत्री उन्हें लगता है कि उन्हें अपना विचार जाहिर करना चाहिए. ‘मुझे लगता है कि मुझे इस मुद्दे पर अपने दिमाग से कहना चाहिए.’

उन्होंने दावा किया कि कांग्रेस के कई वरिष्ठ नेताओं ने उन्हें सलाह दी थी कि सरकार को इस विषय में दखल नहीं देना चाहिए. वहीं, लिंगायतों को धार्मिक अल्पसंख्यक का दर्जा देने की सिफारिश करने के लिए अग्रिम मोर्चे पर रहे कांग्रेस नेता एवं पूर्व मंत्री एमबी पाटिल ने कहा कि वह पार्टी में इस विषय को उठाएंगे.

उन्होंने कहा, ‘मैं जानता हूं कि किस संदर्भ में उन्होंने यह कहा। हम पार्टी के अंदर इस विषय पर चर्चा करेंगे.’ बाबलेश्वर सीट से विधायक पाटिल ने दावा किया कि चुनाव में कोई नुकसान नहीं हुआ. शिवकुमार खुद वोक्कालिंगा समुदाय से आते हैं.

President Ram Nath Kovind administered the oath to Justice Gogoi at a ceremony which took place in Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Darbar Hall.

Justice Gogoi’s father Sh. Keshab Chandra Gogoi was a Chief minister under the Indian National Congress regime in the state of Assam in the year 1982.

Justice Ranjan Gogoi took oath as the as the 46th Chief Justice of India on Wednesday as he succeeded Justice Dipak Misra.

President Ram Nath Kovind administered the oath to the 63-year-old Justice Gogoi at a ceremony which took place in Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Darbar Hall.

Justice Gogoi’s father Sh. Keshab Chandra Gogoi was a Chief minister under the Indian National Congress regime in the state of Assam in the year 1982.

Justice Gogoi will have a tenure of a little over 13 months and would retire on November 17, 2019.

He was appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court on April 23, 2012.

Born on November 18, 1954, Justice Gogoi was enrolled as an advocate in 1978. He practised in the Gauhati High Court on constitutional, taxation and company matters.

He was appointed as a permanent judge of the Gauhati High Court on February 28, 2001. On September 9, 2010, he was transferred to the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

He was appointed as Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court on February 12, 2011.

Justice Gogoi was one of the four Supreme Court judges who had revolted against CJI Misra earlier this year. The other three were Justice J. Chelameswar, Justice Madan B. Lokur and Justice Kurian Joseph.

In an unprecedented move, the four senior-most judges of the apex court had held a press conference in January this year raising, among other things, questions over assigning cases to different judges by the CJI.

Earlier in September, CJI Misra had recommended Justice Gogoi as his successor as per the established practice of naming for the post the senior-most judge after the CJI.

The appointment of members of the higher judiciary is governed by the Memorandum of Procedure, which says “appointment to the office of the Chief Justice of India should be of the senior-most judge of the Supreme Court considered fit to hold the office”.

The protocol stipulates that the law minister will, at an appropriate time, seek recommendation of the outgoing CJI for the appointment of a successor. Once the CJI makes the recommendation, the law minister puts it before the Prime Minister who then advises the President on the matter.

After President Ramnath Kovind signed warrants of Justice Gogoi’s appointment , a notification was issued announcing his appointment.

Pune’s Ganesha in ‘Thanjavur temple’

Dagdusheth Ganpati will spend this year’s Ganesh Chaturthi in a replica of the Brihadeeswara temple

In what is one famous temple’s tribute to another, the idol of Pune’s Dagdusheth Ganpati temple will spend this year’s Ganesh Chaturthi festivities, which commence on Thursday, in a replica of Thanjavur’s iconic Brihadeeswara temple.

Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust, the custodians of the Dagdusheth Ganpati Temple, has a 75-year-old tradition of making replicas of historic temples across the country on the occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi, said Ashok Godse, president of the Trust. This year, a 100 ft by 100 ft replica of the 11th century Brihadeeswara temple would be featured as part of the Trust’s 126th year of public Ganesha festivities.

“The original purpose was two-fold: to showcase our country’s heritage to devotees who cannot afford to travel to other parts of the country, and to serve the larger purpose of uniting people during festivities,” Mr. Godse said.

 

Idol as tribute

In 1893, Dagdusheth Gadve, a successful sweetmeat seller (or halwai), made an idol of Lord Ganesha on the advice of his spiritual guru, following the death of his only son in a plague epidemic. The halwai, who was known to have been admired by ‘Lokmanya’ Bal Gangadhar Tilak, built a second Ganesha idol in 1896. Around this time, with Tilak at the fore, the mobilisation of public Ganesha festivities had begun in earnest.

With the passage of time, however, the condition of the second Ganesha idol deteriorated. “Rarely has the name of a person been so intertwined with that of the idol of a deity,” said Mahesh Suryawanshi, treasurer of the Trust.

He said the idol currently installed at the Dagdusheth Ganpati Temple was sculpted in 1968 at a cost of Rs. 4,500. “It was the work of the Dharwad-based sculptor, Naglingacharya Shankaracharya Shilpi. This idol is 1.5 m in height, 1.25 m wide, and adorned with 40 kg of gold. This is the idol that will be kept in the Thanjavur temple replica.”

पेट्रोल 55 और डीजल 50 रुपए लीटर मिलेगा: गडकरी

केंद्रीय मंत्री ने कहा, ‘हमारा पेट्रोलियम मंत्रालय एथेनॉल बनाने के लिए पांच प्लांट लगा रहा है, एथेनॉल लकड़ी और नगर निगम के कचरे से बनाया जाएगा’

पेट्रोल और डीजल की बढ़ती कीमतों के बीच सड़क और परिवहन मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने बायोफ्यूल के उपयोग का तरीका सुझाया है. गडकरी ने कहा, मैं 15 वर्षों से कह रहा हूं कि किसान और आदिवासी बायोफ्यूल बना सकते हैं. जिससे हवाई जहाज तक उड़ सकता है. हमारी नई तकनीक से बनी गाड़ियां किसानों और आदिवासियों द्वारा बनाए गए एथेनॉल से चल सकती हैं.

इसी के साथ उन्होंने पेट्रोल और डीजल के बढ़ते दामों का भी जिक्र किया. सोमवार को एक सभा को संबोधित करते हुए नितिन गडकरी ने कहा, हम पेट्रोल और डीजल के आयात पर 8 लाख करोड़ रुपए खर्च करते हैं. पेट्रोल की कीमत में लगातार बढ़ोतरी हो रही है. डॉलर की तुलना में रुपए की कीमत घट रही है.’

एथेनॉल है पेट्रोल-डीजल का विकल्प

केंद्रीय मंत्री ने कहा, ‘हमारा पेट्रोलियम मंत्रालय एथेनॉल बनाने के लिए पांच प्लांट लगा रहा है. एथेनॉल लकड़ी और नगर निगम के कचरे से बनाया जाएगा. इसके बाद डीजल की कीमत 50 रुपए प्रति लीटर और पेट्रोल का विकल्प 55 रुपए प्रति लीटर पर उपलब्ध होगा.’

दरअसल पिछले कुछ दिनों से पेट्रोल और डीजल की कीमतों में लगातार वृद्धि हुई है. और फिलहाल पेट्रोल और डीजल के दाम अब तक के सबसे उच्चतम कीमत पर पहुंच गए हैं. इसके चलते सोमवार को कांग्रेस ने बंद का आयोजन भी किया था.

Girl arrested for shouting slogans against Govt. CPI, CPI – M and PMK immediately came to rescue

Thoothukudi (Tamil Nadu), Sep 3, 2018 – A young woman who shouted slogans against the “fascist” Modi government in an aircraft in the presence of Tamil Nadu BJP President Tamilisai Soundararajan was on Monday arrested when the plane landed here.

Sophia (25), who is said to be pursuing research in Canada, was returning home and was seated behind Soundararajan’s third row seat. Suddenly she got up and shouted slogans against the BJP and the “fascist” government at the Centre, creating a flutter in the aircraft.

On landing here, the BJP leader got into a verbal duel with the student and lodged a complaint with the police who arrested her.

Soundararajan later told the media that the girl student rose in a “menacing” manner against her and felt there was a threat to her life in the manner in which she protested.

“She is not an ordinary person,” the BJP leader said, adding she suspected her “background” and that there must be some “organisation” behind her protest which should be probed.

Leaders of various political parties including the CPI-M, CPI and PMK criticized the police “high handedness” and demanded the woman’s immediate release.

They also said Soundararajan should have handled the issue in a mature manner without resorting to gimmicks. The incident only showed that young people in the country were angry with the Central government, they said.

The demand from regional party satraps to lead a united Opposition in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and the gradual fade away of sibling rivalry has clearly gave an edge to M K Stalin, the 65-year-old president of the DMK and he seems to be on course of leaping to the stature of a king maker in the national politics.

Though Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee is currently leading the race, Stalin could be the regional parties’ answer to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, if the words of some of the leaders ~ who addressed the public meeting held at Chennai on Thursday in memory of former chief minister of Tamil Nadu late M Karunanidhi ~ are any indication.

In the meeting Farooq Abdullah, leader of the National Conference and former chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir, urged Stalin to unite and lead the secular forces in the country against the BJP.

“Who is going to lead the flock? Stalin, I tell you. Lead us to the nation that Gandhi could not take us and Karunanidhi could not take us. Please take my children and grandchildren to an India where we can live with honour and dignity and walk with freedom,” said Abdullah who also alleged that the country was undergoing a regime of dictatorship.

The way regional parties pictured Stalin’s importance in the national politics, one could easily analyse that he will be a catalyst of a maha gat bandhan taking shape in Tamil Nadu.

Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and the senior leader of the Congress also declared that Stalin would be the ideal person to take on the BJP. “Under the leadership of Stalin, we will fight oppression and discrimination of the worst kind India has ever faced,” said Azad.

The words of these two leaders were played again and again by Kalaignar TV, the channel owned by the Karunanidhi family. Former Prime Minister Deve Gowda too paid rich compliments to Stalin, though he did not endorse the candidature of the latter for the post of Prime Minister.

Barring the BJP, leaders of all political parties who were present were vying with one another in praising Stalin and attacking Narendra Modi, though indirectly.
