Petrol prices breaking its own records touched 87/= mark at Delhi

A day after the steepest ever rise, the prices of petrol and diesel were once again hiked on Saturday across the four Metro cities, taking the price of petrol beyond Rs 80 in the national capital.

The prices of petrol and diesel were hiked between 38 paise and 49 paise across New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai, according to the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).

In Delhi, the price of petrol is resting at a record Rs 80.38 per litre, while it is being sold at Rs 87.77 per litre in Mumbai after a hike of 39 paisa.

Diesel, on the other hand, has been increased by 44 paisa a litre, taking its cost to Rs 72.51 and Rs 76.98 per litre in Delhi and Mumbai, respectively.

On Friday, petrol and diesel rates were hiked by about 50 paisa per litre each, which came as the steepest increase in prices since daily price revision came into effect over 14 months back, pushing the petrol and diesel prices to their highest ever levels on Friday.

Opposition calls protests against rising fuel prices

Congress has called a Bharat Bandh on September 10 to protest against the escalating fuel prices.

The Congress on Friday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking whether petrol prices would hit the century mark under his government and if the rupee was in hospital.

Congress spokesperson R P N Singh said all political parties would take to the streets to protest against the rising prices of petrol and diesel that are hitting the common man hard and questioned the prime minister’s silence on the issue.

He said the September 10 ‘Bharat Bandh’ protest is “not of the Congress but of the common man”.

“The prime minister during the UPA’s tenure had said that the rupee is in hospital. The rupee has touched an all-time low against the US dollar, where is the prime minister now? He is neither tweeting nor giving any speech. Never has the rupee touched such low levels in the history of the country. The country wants to ask him why is he silent? Is the rupee in hospital today?” he asked.

The Congress will organise a nationwide protest on September 10 over rising fuel prices, party leaders had announced Thursday and asked other opposition parties and civil society groups to join the shutdown against the central government.

Aero Show to remain in Bengaluru

Following the controversy over a proposed move to shift the venue of the Aero India, the Ministry of Defence confirmed on Saturday that the mega airshow will be held in its traditional venue of Bengaluru in Karnataka.

Following the controversy over a proposed move to shift the venue of the biennial Aero India show, the Ministry of Defence confirmed on Saturday that the mega airshow will be held in its traditional venue of Bengaluru in Karnataka.

“The Government has decided to hold the Aero India 2019 in Bengaluru from 20 to 24 February 2019,” the MoD said in a statement.

The Defence Ministry’s decision thus ends uncertainty over the venue of the 12th edition of Aero India. It was speculated that the venue may be shifted out of Karnataka especially after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a request to Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in August to select Lucknow as the venue for the mega event.

Besides Uttar Pradesh, the Defence Ministry had indicated that it was examining requests from a number of states including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Odisha and Tamil Nadu.

Political leaders in Karnataka had protested against any move to shift the Aero India out of the state.

Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka G Parameshwara called the “plan” unfortunate and alleged that the Centre was trying to end Bengaluru’s dominance in the defence sector.

“Plan to snatch Aero India Show away from Bengaluru in favour of Lucknow is very unfortunate. We have been conducting it successfully since 1996. This comes after HAL was snubbed for Rafael deal. Centre seems to be keen on ending Bengaluru’s dominance in the defence sector,” he said on Twitter on 3 August.

After Adityanath’s argument that bringing the Aero India to Lucknow will give a fillip to the proposed defence corridor in Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi arguing in favour of Bengaluru.

“Bengaluru being the hub for defence and aviation majors of the country is certainly the most suitable place to conduct the show,” he had said in the letter.

Meanwhile, the Defence Ministry said that the five-day event will combine a major trade exhibition for the aerospace and defence industries with public air shows.

“Besides global leaders and big investors in aerospace industry, the show will also see participation by think-tanks from across the world,” the government said.

Stating that the Aero India will provide a unique opportunity for exchange of information, ideas and new developments in the aviation industry, the government said that it will give a “fillip to the domestic aviation industry it would further the cause of Make in India”

Farooq threatens to boycott local bodies, assembly and parliamentary elections

He said the Centre and the state government hurriedly announced the the ULB and panchayat polls.

Days after the National Conference announced its decision to not participate in the panchayat and urban local bodies (ULB) elections, the party on Saturday threatened to boycott the assembly and parliamentary polls too if the Centre does not take effective steps for protection of Article 35-A.

Article 35-A, which was incorporated in the Constitution by a 1954 Presidential Order, accords special rights and privileges to the citizens of Jammu & Kashmir and bars people from outside the state from acquiring any immovable property in the state. It is facing legal challenge in the Supreme Court.

“How can we go to our workers and ask them to come out to vote? First do justice to us and clear your (Centre) stand (on Article 35-A). If your plan is that (weakening Jammu and Kashmir’s special position), then our ways are separate. Then we cannot have elections. Not only these (urban local bodies and panchayat) polls, but we will also boycott the assembly and parliamentary elections then,” NC president Farooq Abdullah said in Srinagar.

He was addressing party workers at a function here to mark the 36th death anniversary of his father and NC founder Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.

The former chief minister said his party was not running away from polls, but wanted the Centre to do justice with the people of Jammu and Kashmir first and take effective steps for the protection of the state’s special position.

“On one hand they (Centre) want to conduct polls here. On the other hand they want to revoke Article 35-A, Article 370 has been weakened and there are also attacks on the (Jammu and Kashmir) Constitution,” Mr. Abdullah said.

He said the Centre and the state government hurriedly announced the the ULB and panchayat polls, which will be held next month in four and eight phases respectively.

“First they should have talked to us. They should have called every leader that they plan to conduct polls and asked for our opinion. They did not. The prime minister, like Hitler, announced on 15 August from the Red Fort that elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

The NC president also trained his guns at National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval over his statement that having a separate constitution for Jammu and Kashmir was probably an “aberration”.

“Their (Centre’s) intentions are not right. They never were. The NSA has said that a separate constitution for Jammu and Kashmir is an aberration. I want to tell him from this stage that if the constitution is an aberration, then this accession (of Jammu and Kashmir to India) is also an aberration,” he said.

“On one hand they tell us that we are their crown, but on the other hand they put that crown in their feet So, they have to think. They cannot control this state if they cause any further problems here. If they want this state together with the country, then they should stop what they are doing,” Mr. Abdullah said.

देश मे बढ़ती पैट्रोल, डीजल,गैस की कीमतों के खिलाफ चंडीगढ़ काँग्रेस ने आज जबरदस्त प्रदर्शन किया। बढ़ती पेट्रोल,डीजल व गैस की कीमतों के खिलाफ सेक्टर 15 में मार्च निकाल मोदी सरकार के खिलाफ जबरदस्त नारेबाजी व पुतला फूंका। पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री पवन बंसल व अध्यक्ष प्रदीप छाबड़ा की मौजूदगी में कांग्रेसियों ने जबरदस्त नारेबाजी की। छाबडा ने कहा कि कांग्रेस की सरकार के समय जो विदेश से क्रूड ऑयल 107 से 120 डॉलर प्रति बैरल खरीदकर देश की जनता को सस्ता पेट्रोल, डीजल देती थी आज बीजेपी सरकार 70 डॉलर प्रति बैरल (जो कि पिछली सरकार के मुकाबले लगभग आधी कीमत) खरीद कर मोदी सरकार 85 रु प्रति लीटर पेट्रोल बेच रही है पेट्रोल डीजल व गैस की कीमतें अबतक के उच्चतम स्तर पर है। दीपा दुबे ने कहा महंगे डीजल से किसानों की खेती पर बुरा असर पड़ रहा है, ट्रांस्पोर्टेशन महंगी होती जा रही है जिस से महंगाई मोदी सरकार के लिए बेलगाम हो चुकी है।

मनु दुबे ने कहा की जिस कांग्रेस की सरकार के समय गैस सिलेंडर की कीमत 400 रु होती थी अब केंद्र की नाकाम व नकारा बीजेपी सरकार के समय 800 से ऊपर हो गई है। ब्लॉक अध्यक्ष जावेद अली ने कहा कि भर्ष्टाचार मुक्त भारत का ढोंग करने वाली आज रैफेल विमान घोटाले में लिप्त हो चुकी है देश की जनता को झूठे वादे व गुमराह करके सत्ता पाने वाली बीजेपी के ढोंग का खुलासा हो गया है 2019 में जनता बीजेपी सरकार को सत्ता से उखाड़ फेंकने के लिए तैयार बैठी है।

Gen Bajwa supports ‘Self Determination’ for J&K

Islamabad supports self-determination, Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa says in the presence of Prime Minister Imran Khan during Defence and Martyrs Day ceremony.

Pakistan Army chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday raked up the Kashmir issue and reaffirmed Islamabad’s support for “self-determination” in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Pakistan Army learnt a lot from the 1965 and 1971 wars with India and had made the country’s defence impregnable by developing nuclear weapons, he said at a Defence and Martyrs Day, organised to mark the anniversary of the 1965 war with India, at the Army headquarters in Rawalpindi.

The event was attended by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Gen. Bajwa said Pakistan supported the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their “struggle for the right to self-determination”.

“We have learned a lot from the wars of 65 and 71. We were able to further strengthen our defence forces in the wake of these wars. Despite difficult economic times, we were able to become an atomic power. September 6, 1965, is an important day in the history of our nation,” he said, adding that Pakistani soldiers jumped into the fiery pits of warfare but did not let the country be harmed. “The bravery shown by our nation during the 1965 war serves as an important lesson and an inspiration to our youth even today.”

Won’t fight other people’s wars, says Khan

Mr. Khan said Pakistan would never fight any other country’s war in future and his government’s foreign policy would be in the best interest of the nation. “We will not become part of a war of any other country [in future]… Our foreign policy will be in the best interest of the nation,” he said, apparently referring to the country’s involvement in neighbouring Afghanistan.

Pakistan was the ally of the United States during the Cold War as it fought the American war with the erstwhile Soviet Union in Afghanistan.

Mr. Khan praised the armed forces for combating terrorism. “No other nation has fought the war on terror like the Pakistan Army.” The role of the security forces and intelligence agencies in making the country safer against all threats was unparalleled, he said.

Mr. Khan also talked about investing in human capital by sending children to schools and building hospitals and system of merit so that everyone is treated equally on the pattern of first Muslim state of Medina. “The government will bring meritocracy and transparency in all sectors by following the golden principles of state of Medina,” he said.

सरकार ने भीमा कोरेगांव में किसी तीसरे का हाथ होने की आशंका जताई

भीमा कोरेगांव हिंसा की जांच के लिए फरवरी में कमीशन को स्थापित किया गया था और बुधवार से मुंबई में इसकी सुनवाई शुरु हुई. इसकी सुनवाई पुणे में भी होगी

राज्य सरकार के स्पेशल पब्लिक प्रोसेक्यूटर ने भीमा कोरेगांव हिंसा में पूछताछ कर रहे आयोग के सामने दावा किया कि 1 जनवरी को हुई घटना किसी ‘तीसरे ग्रुप’ ने ‘अराजकता फैलाने’ के लिए किया हो सकता है. 44 वर्षीय मनीषा खोपकर पर हिंसा के दौरान हमला हुआ था. मनीषा ने आयोग को बताया कि एक ग्रुप ने उनपर पत्थरों से हमला किया था. और भगवा झंडे लिए लड़के मोटरसाइकिलों पर नारे लगाते हुए वहां से निकल गए.

समस्त हिंदू अघादी नेता मिलिंद एकबोट और श्री शिव प्रतिस्ठान हिंदुस्तान नेता संभाजी भिड़े के खिलाफ शिक्रपुर पुलिस स्टेशन में एफआईआर दर्ज की गई है. 1 जनवरी को कोरेगांव की लड़ाई में शहीदों की 200 वीं वर्षगांठ के समय इकट्ठा हुए लोगों के खिलाफ हिंसा को बढ़ावा देने में उन लोगों की भूमिका की जांच की जाएगी. पुणे पुलिस ने पिछले साल 31 दिसंबर को शनिवार वाडा में आयोजित एल्गार परिषद के आयोजकों और प्रतिभागियों को भी नामजद किया है और आरोप लगाया कि उनके उत्तेजक भाषणों की वजह से ही हिंसा भड़की.

मनीषा खोपकर से जब ये पूछा गया कि, ‘क्या यह संभव है कि दोनों समूहों के बीच में गलतफहमी और हिंसा बढ़ाने के मकसद से किसी ने ये काम किया हो?’ इसके जवाब में खोपकर ने कहा कि वह किसी पर आरोप नहीं लगा रही हैं. हालांकि आयोग के अध्यक्ष न्यायमूर्ति (सेवानिवृत्त) जे एन पटेल ने कहा कि सवाल ‘कल्पित’ था. लेकिन हिरय ने कहा कि गवाह से सवाल पूछा गया क्योंकि उन्हें ‘विचारधारा’ का अर्थ पता है. किसी तीसरे पक्ष की संलिप्तता के बारे में सवाल पूछने से पहले मनीषा से पूछा गया था कि क्या वो विचारधारा का अर्थ समझती हैं. इसके बाद हिरय ने लिखा कि हिंसा के पीछे ‘अलग विचारधारा’ के तीसरे समूह की संभावना थी.

 

इंडियन एक्सप्रेस के मुताबिक हिरय ने गवाह से कोरेगांव की लड़ाई के इतिहास के बारे में भी सवाल किया और पूछा कि क्या उनके पास इसके बारे में कोई लिखित सबूत है. खोपकर ने कहा कि पेशवा के खिलाफ लड़ाई में महारों की जीत का इतिहास उन्होंने अपने माता-पिता से सुना था. इसके बात हिरय ने खोपकर से 2014-15 में उनके खिलाफ चेक-बाउंसिंग के तीन लंबित मामलों को दिखाया. साथ ही उन्होंने खोपकर से उनके इस दावे के बारे में भी सवाल किया कि 1 जनवरी को दुश्मनों द्वारा उन्हें और दूसरे लोगों पर भीड़ द्वारा जातिवादी टिप्पणी की गई थी पुलिस ने उनके इस आरोप ध्यान नहीं दिया. एकतरफ जहां हिरय ने दावा किया कि वह झूठ बोल रही हैं. वहीं खोपकर ने कहा कि उन्होंने पुलिस को इसके बारे में बताया पर पुलिस ने इसे दर्ज नहीं किया था.

गुरुवार को एक और गवाह, तुकाराम गावड़े को भी पेश किया गया. कमीशन के वकील आशीष सतपूते द्वारा सवाल पूछने पर गावड़े ने कहा कि वह 2006 में राज्य और मुंबई पुलिस में अस्सिटेंट इंस्पेकटर के रूप में रिटायर हुए थे. उन्होंने कहा कि वो इसके पहले चार पांच बार भीम कोरेगांव का दौरा कर चुके थे. और 200वीं वर्षगांठ के समय वो एक बड़े समूह के साथ गए थे.

कमीशन को फरवरी में स्थापित किया गया था और बुधवार से मुंबई में इसकी सुनवाई शुरु हुई. इसकी सुनवाई पुणे में भी होगी.

मुलायम से भी नहीं संभली घर की तकरार, शिवपाल की नयी पार्टी अक्तूबर में

अब तक शिवपाल यादव मुलायम सिंह के साथ शांति वार्ता कर रहे थे लेकिन लगता है कि इनके बीच बात बनी नहीं है

समाजवादी पार्टी से अलग होकर अपनी नई पार्टी बनाने की घोषणा कर चुके शिवपाल यादव अब आखिरकार अक्टूबर के मध्य में लॉन्च करेंगे. अब तक वो यादव परिवार के साथ शांति वार्ता कर रहे थे लेकिन लगता है कि इनके बीच बात बनी नहीं है.

सूत्रों के मुताबिक, उत्तर प्रदेश राजनीति के यादव परिवार में शांति वार्ता पर बात बन नहीं पाई है और शिवपाल सिंह यादव आखिरकार अपनी नई पार्टी समाजवादी सेक्युलर मोर्चा अक्टूबर में लॉन्च कर देंगे.

शिवपाल यादव ने कुछ दिनों पहले ही अपनी नई पॉलिटिकल पार्टी समाजवादी सेक्युलर मोर्चा के नाम की घोषणा की थी और उन सभी को अपनी पार्टी जॉइन करने का न्योता भेजा था, जिन्हें लगता है कि समाजवादी पार्टी में उन्हें सम्मान नहीं मिलता.

इसके बाद सूत्रों के हवाले से खबर आई थी कि शिवपाल के इस घोषणा के बाद समाजवादी पार्टी के पूर्व अध्यक्ष और मार्गदर्शक मुलायम सिंह यादव ने उनसे बातचीत कर मामला सुलझाने की कोशिश की. वो चाहते थे कि उनके भाई शिवपाल और बेटे अखिलेश यादव के बीच का विवाद खत्म हो जाए. हालांकि, लगता है कि ये दोनों नेता ही झुकने के मूड में नहीं हैं. कहा जा रहा है कि शिवपाल सिंह ने शर्त रखी है कि वो पार्टी में तभी रुकेंगे जब उनको और उनके साथियों को पार्टी में समुचित आदर मिलेगा.

खबर थी कि जब शिवपाल यादव ने अपने पार्टी के नाम की घोषणा की थी, उस वक्त ये खबर भी आई थी कि उन्होंने खुद मुलायम सिंह यादव तक इसमें शामिल होने का न्योता दिया था, जिसे मुलायम ने नकार दिया था. उधर लग रहा है कि अखिलेश यादव भी इस मामले को पूरी तरह से सुलटाने के मूड में हैं.

शिवपाल सिंह ने भी गुरुवार को ऐसी बात कही, जिससे लगता है कि अब वो पीछे मुड़कर देखने वाले नहीं हैं. उन्होंने कहा कि उनकी नई राजनीतिक पार्टी 2019 के लोकसभा चुनावों में अहम भूमिका निभाएंगी. हम बीजेपी के खिलाफ सेक्युलर मोर्चे को मजबूत करेंगे.

शिवपाल धड़े के सूत्रों ने जानकारी दी है कि इस नई पार्टी को मैदान में ले जाने की सारी तैयारियां पूरी हो चुकी हैं. नामों पर चर्चा की जा रही है और जल्दी ही पार्टी के लिए प्रवक्ता चुन लिए जाएंगे. अक्टूबर के मध्य तक रजिस्ट्रेशन तक का काम पूरा कर लिया जाएगा.

हालांकि समाजवादी पार्टी के नेता इन खबरों पर कोई टिप्पणी नहीं कर रहे और यादव परिवार भी हाथ खड़े कर चुका लगता है, ऐसे में इस डेवलपमेंट से बीजेपी को काफी खुशी होगी. इस सबमें सबसे ज्यादा फायदा बीजेपी को पहुंचेगा.
