प्रदेश के राजकीय कॉलेजों में खाली पड़े सहायक प्रोफेसरों के हजारों पदों पर रेगुलर भर्ती की मांग को लेकर हरियाणा एस्पाइरिंग असिस्टेंट प्रोफेसर एसोसिएशन  लगातार संघर्ष कर रहा है। लंबे समय से चली आ रही इन मांगो को लेकर सैकड़ो नेट/स्कॉलर्स/टॉपर्स आज 06 मार्च को पंचकूला  में मौन जुलूस निकालेंगे। हापा के संस्थापक सदस्य व हरियाणा राजकीय कॉलेज टीचर्स एसोसिएशन (HGCTA) के पूर्व प्रादेशिक उपाध्यक्ष प्रोफेसर सुभाष सपड़ा ने बताया कि इस प्रदर्शन की सभी तैयारियां पूरी हो गई हैं। प्रदर्शन के लिए प्रदेश के सैकड़ो बेरोजगार युवा अभ्यर्थी पंचकूला  में इकट्ठा हो रहे हैं, जहां मौन जुलूस निकालते हुए प्रदेश सरकार के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन करेंगे।

प्रोफेसर सपड़ा ने बताया कि हरियाणा में सरकार द्वारा वर्ष 2019 में कुल 524 पदों पर कुछ ही विषयों में आखिरी बार सहायक प्रोफेसर प्रोफेसरों की भर्ती की गई थी। आधे से अधिक विषय ऐसे भी हैं जिनपर वर्ष 2016 के बाद से अब तक भर्ती नहीं हुई है। जबकि प्रदेश सरकार ने रेगुलर भर्ती के संबंध में पंजाब और हरियाणा उच्च न्यायालय में एक हलफनामा देकर बताया था कि राज्य के राजकीय कॉलेज में सहायक प्रोफेसर प्रोफेसर के कुल 8137 पद स्वीकृत हैं, जिसमें से कुल 4738 पद रिक्त हैं अर्थात कुल का 60 फ़ीसदी पोस्ट रिक्त हैं। सरकार पक्की भर्ती के नियमों में संशोधन का हवाला देकर इसे टालती आ रही है। मार्च 2020 में उच्चतर शिक्षा विभाग हरियाणा ने 2592 असिस्टेंट प्रोफेसरों के पदों की नई नियुक्तियों की स्वीकृति दी थी। परंतु यह फाइल भी इधर उधर कार्यालयों में धूल चाट रही है। 

प्रोफेसर सुभाष सपड़ा ने बताया कि हरियाणा प्रदेश के राजकीय कॉलेजों में करीब 2000 एक्सटेंशन लेक्चर बिना किसी पारदर्शी भर्ती प्रक्रिया व बिना आरक्षण नीति को लागू किए कार्य कर रहे हैं। 4 मार्च 2020 को एक्सटेंशन लेक्चरर्स की गैरकानूनी तरीके से नई नीति बनाकर फर्जीवाड़ा कर इनको किसी न किसी तरह से कालेजों समायोजित किया जा रहा है। 

अब जबकि प्रदेश सरकार 3 जनवरी 2024 की केबिनेट मीटिंग में भर्ती के नियमों में संशोधन की मंजूरी भी ले चुकी है। इसके बावजूद सहायक प्रोफेसर्स की नियमित नियुक्ति नहीं होने से इन पदों के हजारों उम्मीदवारों में मायूसी है। और नौकरी की अधिकतम आयु सीमा पार कर रहे हैं।

रेगुलर सहायक प्रोफेसर्स की पक्की व नई भर्ती की मांगों को लेकर प्रदेश के सैकड़ो बेरोजगार युवा अभ्यर्थी पंचकूला व चंडीगढ़ की सड़कों पर संघर्ष कर रहे हैं।

(b) No Vehicle will be allowed to be parked on this route road on March 06 & 07, 2024.

II. Please park your vehicles in respective / designated parking only.

III. All the residents/visitors of Panjab University are not to park their vehicles on the road side in the PU campus on March 06 & 07, 2024. If any vehicle is found parked in the unauthorized area, it will be towed-away by the traffic police of Chandigarh.

IV. Gate timing for General Public on March 07, 2024

a. Gate No-1 will remain open for entry and exit from 06:00 am. to 01:00 p.m. and after 07:00 pm. No Vehicles will be allowed from Gate No-1 from 01:00 p.m. to 07:00 p.m

b. Gate No2 will remain open for entry and exit throughout for the (VIPS, Guest Invitees, and Faculty & Media persons).

c. Gate No-3 will remain open for entry and exit from 06:00 am. to 10:00 pm for the Students & Residents.

All the Panjab University residents, visitors in the PU campus are requested to follow the above mentioned instructions for the smooth conduct of the Convocation. Inconvenience if any is regretted.

देश भगत विश्वविद्यालय के विद्यार्थियों ने शेफ प्रतियोगिता में पहला पुरस्कार जीता

देश भगत विश्वविद्यालय के स्कूल ऑफ होटल मैनेजमेंट और पर्यटन के छात्रों ने एवरेस्ट कुलिनरी चैलेंज सीज़न-5 में पंजाब क्षेत्र के लिए चण्डीगढ़ ग्रुप आफ कॉलेजेज में आयोजित बेकरी शेफ प्रतियोगिता में पहला पुरस्कार जीता। कड़ी प्रतियोगिता में प्रतिस्पर्धा करते हुए देश भगत विश्वविद्यालय की चार टीमों ने अपनी पाक-कला का प्रदर्शन किया। टीमों में काजल और कसक, लक्ष्मी कुमारी और अदिति, जसप्रीत और अर्सप्रीत, और खसुदीप और मानसी गर्ग शामिल थीं। काजल और कसक साथ ही लक्ष्मी कुमारी और अदिति ने रसोई खाने के सेगमेंट में भाग लिया, जबकि जसप्रीत और अर्सप्रीत के साथ ही खसुदीप और मानसी गर्ग ने बेकरी के इवेंट में अपनी कलाओं का प्रतिनिधित्व किया।

खसुदीप कौर और मानसी गर्ग की जोड़ी ने अपने उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन  से पहला स्थान हासिल किया। उन्होंने अपनी माहिरी का प्रदर्शन करते हुए जजों और सह-प्रतियोगियों को एक बेहतरीन केक तैयार करके दिखाया। अब इस सीज़न 5 का बड़ा अंतिम दौरा मार्च में मुंबई में होने जा रहा है, जिसमें सभी क्षेत्रों के विजेता टाइटल खिताब के लिए प्रतिस्पर्धा करेंगे।

विजेताओं को चांसलर डॉ. जोरा सिंह और चांसलर के सलाहकार डॉ. विरिंदर सिंह द्वारा एक सम्मान समारोह में सम्मानित किया गया। डॉ. जोरा सिंह ने विजेता विद्यार्थियों को हार्दिक बधाई दी और उन्हें भविष्य की प्रतियोगिताओं में भाग लेने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया। प्रतियोगिता के दौरान विद्यार्थियों के साथ रहे शेफ रिंकु सिंह का मार्गदर्शन इनकी जीत में अहम योगदान रहा।

Healthcare Seminar on ” Workplace Ethics in Healthcare Industry: Recent Issues and Trends” at UIAMS, PU

University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University was proud to host a transformative Healthcare Seminar focused on “Workplace Ethics in Healthcare Industry: Recent Issues and Trends”. The National Seminar was a dynamic platform for healthcare professionals, students, researchers, and industry experts to engage in discussions, share insights, and explore the latest issues and trends as experienced in healthcare industry. Prof. Amit Chauhan, DSW, Panjab University was the chief guest of the event. He motivated the students to be ethical in whichever domain they work and also adopt ethical practices in campus where they are studying. 110 students and research scholars attended the seminar. Dr. Monika Aggarwal, Director, UIAMS welcomed the guest and highlighted that ethics are important w.r.t. peers, customers and one’s performance at workplace and in society.

Renowned healthcare professionals and researchers lead thought-provoking discussions on various topics. Dr. Krishan Kumar, Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology, PGI, Chandigarh shed light on Workplace Ethics in healthcare industry and challenges faced. Dr. Sonika Bakshi, Chitkara University gave meaningful insights on true meaning of Ethics in healthcare industry through classical case studies. Mr. Gladwin Nayyar, Paras Hospital, communicated, short brief of work culture at Paras Hospital in relation to ethical conduct and a detailed Q&A session.

The seminar was graced by presence of the Director – Prof. Monika Aggarwal, faculty coordinators – Dr. Arunachal Khosla, Dr. Aman Khera and Dr. Ajay Dogra, UIAMS faculty organisers, research scholars and students. The participants engaged with speakers from different niche to expand professional understanding, gain knowledge and explore the viewpoints of various professionals as per their job profile and experience. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ajay Dogra and Dr. Arunachal Khosla.

Lecture organized by DLIS, PU under ‘Alumni Connect’Series

The Department of Library and Information Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a lecture on “Application of WI-FI in Libraries” under‘Alumni Connect Series’. Dr. Shiv Kumar, Chairperson welcomed the invited resource person and pointed out that we have initiated this series to connect Alumni with students as well as the department. Chanchal Yadav, Research Scholar of the department anchored the event and introduced theme of the lecture. Dr. M.S. Pathania was the speaker of today’s talk and is an alumnus of the department.He is a Former University Librarian, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan. He has served the academia for 48 years with rich experience in the profession. In the lecture, he mentioned the vast changes that librarianship has gone through in due course of time along with comparing its challenges and benefits. He described various initiative taken by him during his profession career overcoming the challenges. He also added the role of Infrastructure with an emphasis on Wi-Fi technology and its implementation in universities/institutions. Today’s lecture was attended by around 70 participants.

श्री मुक्तिनाथ वेद विद्याश्रम संस्कृत गुरुकुल में उपनयन संस्कार में बटुकों की मंत्र दीक्षा हुई

इस संस्कार में बटुक(युवा संन्यासी जो ब्रह्मचर्य का पालन करने वाला, नित्यप्रति संध्यावंदन ,निदिध्यासन आदि करने वाला एवं अपने गुरु की सेवा मेंं तत्पर हो) को गायत्री मंत्र की दीक्षा दी जाती है और यज्ञोपवीत धारण कराया जाता है। यज्ञोपवीत का अर्थ है यज्ञ के समीप या गुरु के समीप आना। यज्ञोपवीत एक तरह से बालक को यज्ञ करने का अधिकार देता है। शिक्षा ग्रहण करने के पहले यानी, गुरु के आश्रम में भेजने से पहले बच्चे का यज्ञोपवीत किया जाता था।

सनातन परंपरा को बरकरार रखने की कोशिश। इसके तहत पंचकूला के माता मनसा देवी परिसर के श्री मुक्तिनाथ वेद विद्याश्रम – संस्कृत गुरुकुल में उपनयन संस्कार (जनेऊ) कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। इसमें ब्रह्मचारियों सहित वैदिक आचार्य हिस्सा बने। इस कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत सुबह ब्रह्मचारियों एवं वैदिक आचार्यों ने यज्ञ के साथ पहले की और फिर बटुकों के यज्ञोपवीत की विधि समाप्त हुई। इसके बाद गुरुकुल के कुलाचार्य स्वामी श्रीनिवासाचार्य ने बटुकों को गायत्री मंत्र की दीक्षा व शास्त्रोपदेश दिया। साथ ही जीवन में चार चीजों का अनुसरण करते हुए चलते रहने का मंत्र संस्कृत के वाक्यों का अर्थ समझाकर दिया। आचार्य ने पांच मंत्र दिए।

पहला – सत्यं वद यानी हमेशा सत्य बोलें।

दूसरा – धर्मं चर यानी चाहे कितनी भी कठिनाई क्यों न आए किसी भी परिस्थिति में धर्म के रास्ते को न छोड़े।

तीसरा -ब्रह्मचारी को दिन में नहीं सोना चाहिए।

चौथा – अल्पाहारी बने यानी एक बार भोजन करे।

पांचवा – स्वाध्याय में प्रमाद यानी आलस्य नहीं करना है किसी सूरत में।

आचार्य की आज्ञा को अपने जहन में गांठ बांधकर मेहनत करते रहना है। और इसके साथ ही शास्त्राध्ययन और वेदाध्ययन करते हुए सन्मार्ग पर चलकर निःस्वार्थ भावना के साथ समाज एवं राष्ट्रसेवा के लिए हमेशा तैयार रहना है। इस साेच के साथ आगे बढ़कर  राष्ट्र और समाज की उन्नति के लिए भविष्य में काम करना है। समाज में संस्कृति और संस्कार के उच्च आदर्शों की शिक्षा प्रदान करें।

इस कार्यक्रम में बटुकों के अभिभावकों सहित कार्यक्रम का हिस्सा बनने पहुंचे कई महानुभावों ने बटुकों को भिक्षा प्रदान की गई। इस मौके पर अवसर उपायुक्त पंचकूला सुशील सारवान मुख्य अतिथि रहे। खास मेहमान के रूप में श्री माता मनसा देवी पूजा स्थल बोर्ड की सचिव शारदा प्रजापति भी मौजूद रहीं। कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता समाजसेवी दिनेश सिंगला ने की। कार्यक्रम में गुरुकुल के सभी माननीय सदस्यों हिस्सा बने। कार्यक्रम के धन्यवाद ज्ञापन गुरुकुल के सचिव जयकिशन सिंगल ने किया। इसके बाद सभी महानुभावों को भंडारा प्रसाद वितरण किया गया।

PU recently hosted an engaging IDYPC

The Criminal Justice Practicum Cell at the University Institute of Legal Studies recently hosted an engaging intra-departmental youth parliament competition, focusing on the critical issues of marital rape and harassment against men. The event took place from January 29th to 31st, providing a platform for youth to voice their perspectives on these sensitive matters.

Distinguished alumni, Adv. Lakshya Dhalia and Adv. Vaibhav Bansal, presided over the sessions, witnessing spirited debates and discussions. The competition garnered enthusiastic participation from students across all years, showcasing their dedication and vigour.

The valedictory ceremony, held on January 31st, 2023, featured Chief Guest Shri. Davesh Maudgill, who addressed and felicitated the students. Prof. (Dr.) Shruti Bedi, Director UILS, Dr. Anupam Bahri and Dr. Purushottam Gaur. also shared insights during the event.

The success of the competition can be attributed to the relentless efforts of the Core Team, led by Porush Jain (President), Samiksha Singh (Convener), and Deepanshi Kalra (Co-convener), supported by event co-coordinators Prerna Panwar, Dheeraj Singla, and Disha Jain.

  BioNEST-Panjab University organised the “National Start-up Day: Start Something New”

BioNEST Panjab University has always been driven by the vision of turning ideas into reality. As a part of the Make-in India and Atma Nirbhar Bharatcampaigns, Prof. Rohit Sharma, Project Leader, BioNEST, Panjab University, Chandigarh is dedicated to promoting a start-up culture in India. BioNEST celebrated National Start-up Day with the inspiring vision of Starting Something New. The session was graced by the presence of Mr. Vineet Khurana, a startup builder, Vice President of Chandigarh Angels Network and social capitalist with over 14 years of industry experience in building and scaling startups from the ground up.

He shared his journey with the teachers, students, innovators, and future entrepreneurs, how he started in his early days with a simple engineering degree and how he found himself more inclined towards building a start-up and enterprise. He said that he has been contributing towards the start-up ecosystem from 2010 and has always helped start-ups and entrepreneurs in overcoming their value of death from their initial days. He encouraged the innovators to keep moving forward with their ideas to believe in them even if someone says its not possible because not everyone is going to understand their idea. He shared stories of his start-ups who have become large successful enterprises. He provided a major tip for pitching your idea in front of investors that’s being confident in your speech. It’s the confidence of innovator that attracts investors to invest in their idea.

The event was also honored by the presence of Prof. Navdeep Goyal, Dean Faculty of Sciences and Prof. Kewal Krishan, Dean, International Students of Panjab University, Chandigarh. They both inspired the audience and shared their views on how in previous times start-ups were looked down and how there were limited families who would support them. They both concluded that now the times have changed and every laboratory is doing innovations and pushing their innovators towards entrepreneurship and economy elevation.

BioNEST had small Innovator ki Kahani segment where Dr. Sudhir P. Singh, Scientist D, CIAB, Mohali shared his journey how he created alternative for diabetic and obese patients with his first student who has now joined ICT, Mumbai as Scientist C. He was joyed to share that they have transferred their technology to industry. They also shared the collaboration of NABI and CIAB where they will be setting up scale up bio manufacturing unit.He was also felicitated with the Technology Transfer award at the event.

There were some pitches done by the innovators at the event where pitchers talked about their MAD ideas and the dignitaries on the dice bombarded them with their valuable insights related to scientific upgradation of their idea, having a proper market research about an idea, having to address a good problem statement and being open about the idea and criticism.

BioNEST gave awards to its innovators who have contributed significantly in the journey of BioNEST from last 5 years. Among them were some established industries like M/s Biobridge Healthcare Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Pune and M/s Bioage equipments and services, Mohali who were awarded for their innovation and being an invaluable incubatee at BioNEST, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Start-ups such as This Life Matters Pvt. Ltd. and Jaggercane superfoods Pvt. Ltd. were also felicitated with the commercialization award. Mrs. Shivanshi Vashist was felicitated with IP award for filing 7 patents in just five years. The last award i.e., The All-Rounder award was presented to Ms. Shallu Goyal for her consistent efforts for being an active researcher, innovator, an achiever in scientific, Intellectual property and administrative fields.

The event concluded with the remarks of Prof. Rohit Sharma how he has guided, mentored, hand held the innovators for achieving their goals and how BioNEST has played a massive role in creating an entrepreneurial system at northern region of India. The event was conducted to bridge a gap between a Venture capitalist and innovators that have a decent product for scale up and that wants to increase their market size.

Professor Bhupinder Singh Bhoop has recently been chosen by Punjab Academy of Sciences (PAS)for conferment of the prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award of the Academy” for “immense” contribution in the field of Sciences, especially extensive pioneering research work in Pharmaceutical Sciences on novel and nano structured drug delivery systems using Quality by Design (QbD) paradigms. In a communique received from PAS yesterday, the said award will be conferred upon Dr Bhoop at the inaugural function of 27th Punjab Science Congress to be held on 7th February 2024 at Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh (Punjab).He will be the first-ever pharma scientist to be bestowed with this coveted Award by the Academy,since its inception in 1996.

Globally renowned for his research work on QbD-enabled development of drug nanoc arrier systems, Professor Bhoop has to his credit over430 publications including 16 books, 8 patents (3 granted) and tech. transfers of three nanotech-based drug delivery products to Pharma industry. A widely travelled scientist, he has delivered over 375 invited talks and onsite workshops in India and overseas, thus training thousands industrial scientists from leading pharma industrial hoouses. He has duly trained over a thousand industrial scientists under his guidance through various onsite industrial training seminars, workshops and scientific forums. He has guided over 110 researchers, including 34 Ph.D.’s and 11 post-doctorates, and has earned research grants of over 7.30 crores from the governmental and corporate sectors. Based on his quantum and quality of the published work, he has adorned among Top 2% of Scientists of the World (by Stanford University, USA), in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, on the basis of career-long performance as well as last one year’s performance.

ENACTUS PANJAB UNIVERSITY EMPOWERS POTTERS COMMUNITY THROUGH WORKSHOP ON FINANCIAL LITERACY AND MENSTRUAL HEALTH

In a significant initiative to foster community empowerment, EnactusSSBUICET team of Panjab University organized a comprehensive Financial Literacy and Menstrual Health & Hygiene Workshop for the potter families of Maloya in collaboration with Versatile Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. and Corporate Sustainability Council, Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry(CSC WICCI), Chandigarh. The event aimed to raise awareness about government policies for investment, impart financial literacy and address the critical issue of menstrual hygiene, conveyed Prof.Seema Kapoor, Faculty Advisor of Enactus and Vice President of CSC WICCI, Chandigarh.

The resource person, Prof. Monika Agarwal, Director, University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University, delivered insightful perspectives on financial management and healthcare. She focused on the importance of saving and budgeting. She made the potter community aware of many Govt. Schemes including Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima and encouraged them to enrol in these schemes. Lot of enthusiasm was seen in community members as they raised many queries during the workshop. Her expertise enriched the workshop, providing valuable insights into smart money handling and the importance of health awareness said Aman Sagar, Director of Operations, Enactus team.

Amitoj Kaur, Content Head, Enactus team shared that the reusable cloth based sanitary napkins were distributed among menstruating women and girls during the workshop and also by going door to door. The team members addressed the crucial aspect of menstrual hygiene, shedding light on the significance of using cloth based pads instead of plastic based pads for women’s health. These sanitary napkins made under Project Uday of Enactus team and CSR project Amodini of Versatile Group, Ludhiana were sponsored by an alumnus of1976 batch of Dr. SSB University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology, P.U., told Kiran, Vice president of team. Refreshments were also served to the community members after the workshop.

Shubham Dhiman, President, Enactus team conveyed that the team has been working tirelessly since 2012 to improve the lives of communities associated with the team and taking entrepreneurial action for a better and empowered future. He acknowledged the whole hearted support of Prof. Jatinder Grover, Dean Student Welfare and Prof.Simrit Kahlon, Dean of Student Welfare (Women) and other higher authorities of Panjab University.
