Haryana Governor, Sh Bandaru Dattatreya lauded Ashwani Gupta Memorial Trust for organizing blood donation camps and other social activities

While describing blood donation as a noble cause, Haryana Governor, Sh Bandaru Dattatreya said that every drop of blood plays an important role in keeping the extinguished flame of a patient’s life-like lamp shining. While education builds life, the blood gives life to a person, he added.

          Sh Bandaru Dattatreya said this in a recorded message in the 5th mega blood donation camp organized in the memory of Lt. Sh Ashwani Gupta at Aggarwal Bhawan, Sector-16 here today. Sh Bandaru Dattatreya  was scheduled to attend the programme as chief guest but could not make it owing to some unavoidable circumstances. In order to reach out to the people, a recorded message of Sh Dattatreya was played in the programme.

Blood donation and other activities pave the way for proper participation of poor and people belonging to weaker sections of the society

Sh Dattatreya said under the guidance of Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh Gian Chand Gupta, the Ashwani Gupta Memorial Trust   has been organizing blood donation camps and several other activities in the field of education and sports which also pave the way for proper participation of poor and people belonging to weaker section of the society. While lauding the Ashwani Gupta Memorial Trust for organizing 5th mega blood donation camp, the Governor said that this type of event emphasizes the sacrifice and dedicated life of Lt. Sh Ashwani Gupta.

Earlier, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh Gian Chand Gupta paid floral tributes to Lt. Sh Ashwani Gupta. He said that his son Ashwani Gupta had died in a road accident on this day on March 28 in 2006. He said that the moment was very painful for him and his family. But keeping in view Ashwani’s interest towards social service and his competitive spirit in sports, Ashwani Gupta Memorial Trust has been set up through which social service activities and sports competitions are being organized for the last 16 years. In the same series, this 5th huge blood donation camp has been organized. Apart from this, 11 eye camps have also been organized so far by the Trust, he added.

By creating interest in sports, we can keep youth away from drug addiction

Sh Gupta said that by creating interest in sports, we can keep youth away from drug addiction. He said that sports competions in badminton, kabaddi, volleyball etc. are being organized by the Trust from time to time so that youth could move ahead in sports and a sense of competition is developed among them.

Sh Gupta distributed tricycles and wheel chairs to Divayangs

On this occasion, Sh Gupta honored the blood donors by putting up badges and giving them certificates. He distributed 5 tricycles and two wheel chairs to Divyang beneficiaries on behalf of the District Red Cross Society.

Senior Pracharak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Sh Prem Ji Goyal also spoke on this occasion.

A total of 126 units of blood were collected in the blood donation camp by the team of doctors from PGI Chandigarh and Civil Hospital Sector-6.

Among those present on this occasion included Mayor,  Municipal Corporation Sh Kulbhushan Goyal, Civil Surgeon Dr. Mukta Kumar, Secretary Red Cross Society, Panchkula Savita Agarwal, BJP District President Ajay Sharma, former GAIL Director Banto Kataria, Brahmachari Sampurnanand Ji Maharaj, Councilors namely Harendra Malik, Ritu Goyal, Jai Kaushik,  Barwala Mandal President Gautam Rana, State Yuva Morcha General Secretary Yogendra Sharma, Sh BB Singhal, DP Soni, DP Singhal and other dignitaries .
