New Beginnings: CPDL Welcomes Employees with Open Dialogue & Assurances

Demokratic Front, Chandigarh – 03 February :

Just two days after taking over power distribution in Chandigarh, CPDL organized a comprehensive ‘Samvad’ meeting, fostering open communication and engagement with its employees. The event, held in an auditorium, witnessed the participation of over 700 employees, including permanent and contractual ones, spanning two sessions, who have transitioned to CPDL, including the Employees’ Union.

During the ‘Samvad’ program, CPDL’s senior leadership, including P R Kumar, President, Power Distribution, RPSG Group, Subir Verma, CHRO, RPSG Group, and Arun Verma, Director, CPDL, addressed employee queries in an open Q&A session. This interactive discussion provided employees an opportunity to directly engage with the management and gain clarity on various aspects of their service conditions post-privatization.

Welcoming the employees, P R Kumar reiterated the RPSG Group’s commitment to upholding all existing service conditions, ensuring job security, and maintaining the benefits employees previously enjoyed. He assured the employees that there would be no change in their employment status, with all rights and benefits protected as per the agreement. He cited successful privatization models in Delhi and Odisha, emphasizing the enhanced opportunities and benefits that such transitions have brought to employees in those regions.

Welcoming all employees to the RPSG family, Subir Verma, CHRO of RPSG Group, affirmed that all job-related facilities, including DA, pension, medical benefits, and holidays, would remain unchanged. He emphasized the company’s dedication to enhancing employee welfare while ensuring smooth operations in the power sector.

The interactive session, spanning over two and a half hours, saw enthusiastic participation from employees across different roles, from linemen to junior engineers. Employees, including a significant number of women, sought clarifications regarding service conditions, benefits, and future opportunities, all of which were addressed satisfactorily by the management.

Expressing gratitude, the Employees’ Union acknowledged CPDL’s proactive approach in addressing employee concerns. They assured that employees would remain committed to serving the people of Chandigarh with the same dedication as before. CPDL Director Arun Verma echoed these sentiments, emphasizing collective efforts to strengthen and enhance the power distribution system in the city.
In addition to the regular workforce, CPDL extended the dialogue program to contractual employees, ensuring that their concerns were heard and addressed. The contractual workforce expressed their appreciation and satisfaction with the initiatives shared by CPDL and reaffirmed their commitment to working collaboratively with the company.

To further encourage employee participation, a suggestion box was placed at the venue, allowing individuals to share their feedback and recommendations. The overwhelming response underscored a sense of reassurance and renewed confidence among employees in the organization’s vision.
Since assuming charge on February 1, CPDL has successfully maintained uninterrupted power supply across Chandigarh, ensuring seamless operations and reinforcing its commitment to providing 24/7 reliable electricity to the city’s residents. By fostering transparent communication and prioritizing employee engagement, CPDL has laid a strong foundation for a productive and harmonious work environment within just three days of its operations.
