Chandigarh Police got a major success over Abhiyash

                    In a major breakthrough, Chandigarh Police got a major success while acting against notorious and wanted criminal in tricity. As per direction of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Crime & HQ, under supervision of DSP Crime Sh. Udaypal Singh, a team of Crime Branch lead by Inspector Ashok Kumar nabbed Abhiyash and Juvenile and  recovered one desi kata, country made pistol and 3 live cartridges from their possession. Abhiyash is notorious and wanted in at least 7 cases in tri-city. In a laid to allure youth, Abhiyash made his account on Instagram glorifying his criminal activities and have approximately 700 followers on social media.

Brief Facts:-

                    Keeping in view the upcoming Independent Day, the team of Crime Branch put a special surveillance in the area and on 20.07.2023, ASI Ajmer Singh, along with police party was on patrolling duty and received a secret information that two boys involved in kidnapping, murder, robbery and ransom having illegal weapons, are roaming in the area of Sector 45C & D, Chandigarh. Acting upon this information when the team reached near park Sector 45CD Turn, two boys came on motor cycle were apprehended on the identification of informer with the help of police party. The driver of motor cycle disclosed his name as Abhiyash s/o Saran Yadav r/o # 600/6, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, aged 21 years and pillion rider is juvenile. During search one country made pistol alongwith one live cartridge was recovered from the possession of Abhiyansh and one Desi Katta alongwith 2 live cartridges were recovered from the possession of Juvenile. Subsequently a Case FIR No. 127 dated 10.8.2023 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act PS-34, Chandigarh was registered against them and arrested/detained in the case.

Profile of the accused:-

  1. Abhiyash s/o Saran Yadav r/o # 600/6, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, aged 21 years.
  2. Juvenile

Modus Operandi:-

                Abhiyash is a criminal and leader of the gang having ten to twelve members, who collected ransom and protection money from shopkeepers, small guest house owners the tri-city, if they denied they robbed them on gun point. To make terror in public Abhiyash used to fire gunshot in air at public place. He used to purchase the Arms from Distt. Khagariya, Bihar. He was regular visitor at Night Club, Pubs & Bar in the tri-city. During investigation he disclosed that he recently opened a gunshot on a Cab Driver in Mohali.

Previous History:

                   Abhiyash’s parents belong to Bihar, but by birth he is living in Chandigarh in different colonies on rent. He does not have any permanent address in Chandigarh. He has criminal history, wanted in the case of attempt to murder, Arms Act, Rioting in tri-city.

  6. FIR No. 46/2023 u/s 379A, 411 IPC PS- Mouli Jagran, Chandigarh.
  7. FIR No.77/2023 U/s 147, 148, 143, 323, 365, 506 IPC PS- Ind. Area, Chandigarh.

                   The juvenile was sent to Juvenile home and Abhiyash was produced before the hon’ble court and his police remand was obtained.
