Koral ‘Purnoor’, Demokretic front, Chandigarh – September 6, 22 :

The Centre for Women Development Cell, UILS, Panjab University organized a workshop on ‘Exploring Gender Perspectives.’ The workshop was conducted under the Chief patronage of Prof. Raj Kumar (Vice, Chancellor, PU) and hosted by Prof. Rajinder Kaur (Director, UILS, PU). The Teacher Coordinator for the event was Dr. Anupam Bahri. Student Coordinators included Prabhroop kaur, Divya jot Bhasin and Aarushi aggarwal.

The key note speaker for the workshop was Prof. Jyoti Seth, H.O.D. Sociology (retd.), PG GCG-42, Chandigarh. Being a consultant, researcher and gender trainer, she shared her valuable knowledge about the Gender within the social perspective.

The event initiated with the welcoming of the respective speaker and the teacher coordinator. The session was interactive and was followed by varied opinions of the audiences. Various subtopics such as gender roles set up by the society, the concept of masculinity and feminity in relation with the real life illustrations were discussed.

The event indeed was interlaced with the inputs and queries of the students. The session was concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the teacher coordinator. The event was highly appreciated with the collective efforts of the teachers and student. The event ended with a vote of thanks by Ramya Jit Kaur on an enthusiastic note and with the students looking forward to the next phase of the workshop.
