A six Day long FDP conducted by MGNCRE

Koral ‘Purnoor’, Demokretic Front,Chandigarh – 03 September, 22

  A six Day long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) conducted by Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, (MGNCRE) Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India in collaboration with UGC- HRDC Panjab University Chandigarh concluded today. 

More than 20 teachers from the Panjab University Campus, it’s affiliated colleges and from other states participated in it. 

In this FDP, all the faculty members were engaged in doing diffetent exercises, group work and presentation of their assignments. Besides lectures, the faculty members were asked to do role plays based on different situations prevailing in the field. 

The unique attribute made this FDP different from others is the Visit to two different remote villages on two different days. The village Gurha and Mirzapur both in the foothills of Shivalik in SAS Nagar were covered by the participants for a hands-on experience. During the visit to these villages the participants interacted with local villagers and  interviewed various stakeholders which included Panchayat members, health workers and school teachers etc.

Prof Deepti Gupta  graced the occasion as Chief Guest for the valedictory session and she presented certificates to all the participants. 

Dr Jayanti Dutta, Director, HRDC & Member Syndicate, Panjab University, Chandigarh also shared her views.

Samarth Sharma, consultant was the coordinator of this FDP from MGNCRE, Hyderabad also shared his thoughts about the program.
