13th International High Energy Materials Conference and Exhibits-2022

                      Three days 13th International High Energy Materials Conference and Exhibits, HEMCE-2022 being organised by the High Energy Materials Society of India, Chandigarh-Delhi Chapter in association with Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory, Chandigarh was inaugurated today by Chief Guest,  Dr. G Satheesh Reddy, Secretary, Department of Defence R&D & Chairman, DRDO at TBRL Ranges, Ramgarh, Panchkula. 

Dr. PK Mehta, DS & Director General Armaments, Dr BHVS Narayana Murthy, DS & Director General  Missiles & Strategic Systems and Dr. A Rajarajan, DS  & Director,  Satish Dhavan Space Centre – SHAR  participated as Guest of Honour.

          On this occasion, Dr. G Satheesh Reddy in his address said that a conference like HEMCE-2022 is an ideal platform to share the knowledge and experience in advancements in energetic materials which should lead the breakthrough technologies. Collaborative R&D is the way ahead. DRDO – Centre of Excellence in High Energy Material and Shock & Detonics is planned at IITs to harness the potential of academia. Industry, MSMEs and start Ups are involved in development efforts through the Technology Development Fund. DRDO Patents are available to Indian Industry at no cost.         

          Dr. KPS Murthy, Director HEMRL Pune & President HEMSI lauded the role of HEMSI in roping the technical talents of India. The participation by Industry is overwhelming. Their response provides for purposeful collaborative endeavours to participate daily in R&D stage and be production ready in a seamless manner.

Prateek Kishore, Director TBRL and Chairman, Organising Committee HEMCE-2022 highlighted the necessity of coordination and collaboration among R&D institutes, Academia and Industry. He further said that new generation energetics require stable and  powerful but insensitive compounds whose processing should be safe, whose output should maintain environmental factors and should be amenable  to disposal post its operating life.

More than 100 Indian academic delegates and 600 plus scientific community from DRDO, DAE, ISRO, CSIR, Services are participating in this mega event. 10 plus countries including Russia, Germany, Czech Republic, Israel etc. have registered for the conference. This conference would provide a common platform to discuss; share research work and exchange of scientific knowledge in the area of defense technology related to high energy materials. Delegates from more than 70 institutes, 50 Industry partners as exhibitors will showcase their work related to high energy materials and related technologies.
