Week long activities organised to mark birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale at GMCH 32

The Department of Nursing, GMCH Chandigarh is celebrating International Nurses week from 06th to 12th May, 2022 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale-The founder of Modern Nursing Profession, who was born on 12th May, 1820. A Weeklong activities are being organized w.e.f. 06th May, 2022 to 12th May, 2022. Best Ward competition was held on 06th May, 2022 to 7th May, 2022 and A Yoga Session was organized on 9th May, 2022 by the Department of Nursing.
Chief Guest of the Yoga Session Hon’ble Director Principal Prof. Jasbinder Kaur inaugurated the session with the lightening of the lamp and addressed the gathering. She appreciated the role of nurses of GMCH for organizing the Yoga Session and advised to practice in daily life to stay healthy.
A team of Senior Nursing Officer Ms. Anju Bala and Nursing Officer Ms. Balwinder Kaur with their team members from Bhartiya Yog Sansthan have made the audience to perform the Yoga activities with full expertise. Nukkad Natak was also held on dated 09.05.2022 on Prevention of Hypertension and Health Talks on Non-Communicable Disease.
On 10th May, 2022 the Quiz Competition held on Infection Prevention & Control Practices for which the first prize winners are Nursing Officer Mr. Angraj and Ms. Simran and second prize winners are Nursing Officer Ms. Ankita and Mr. Nitish. Destressing fun games held for nurses were the most enjoyable activity and the source of attraction for them.
