Come April 1, pre-school education in all Playschools and Anganwadis is being formally introduced. In preparation for this, enrolment drives and School Readiness Mela will be organized in all Playschools and Anganwadi centres on March 31, 2022.

While stating this here today, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ayush Sinha said that in these Melas, the children of 3-6 years who come with their parents will participate in simple activities.

He said that  Report card of each child will also be prepared| The stalls at the Melas will have activities related to the areas of development of young children highlighting the physical, cognitive, language, pre-math and social and emotional abilities. The key objective of the enrolment drive and school readiness Melas is to make parents and community aware of pre-primary education so that children from all sections of the society can get free quality education, he added. Sh Sinha appealed to the parents to enroll their children in these play schools. He said that besides free of cost admission in the play schools, children will be provided facilities of quality food, vaccination and regular health checkups.

Sh Sinha said that Haryana is one of the leading states in the country in the field of pre-primary education. As per the announcement, 4000 selected Anganwadis have been converted into Playschools and the remaining 21,962 Anganwadis will also provide early childhood education. In addition to the training of the State Resource Group in 2021-22, the training of all Women and Child Development Project Officers, Supervisors and Anganwadi Workers has been completed. They have also completed their practice classes with children. In 2022, re-orientation of all Anganwadi Workers has also been completed.
He said that India is committed to fulfilling Sustainable Development Goal 4.2 (by 2030 ensure that all girls and boys have access to quality early childhood development, care and pre-primary education so that they are ready for primary education). He said that the National Education Policy 2020 also lays emphasis on pre-primary education as the foundational stage of learning.
