The fourth day of training program on “ADVANCED MOLECULAR BIOLOGY TECHNIQUES” was presided over by the scientific session that included talk by Prof. Kashmir Singh (Department of Biotechnology, PU, Chandigarh) on Transcriptomics, a field that has paved the way for a comprehensive understanding of how genes are expressed and interconnected. He discussed the de novo genome project workflow and the steps involved in the transcriptome analysis.

Prof. Sanjeev K. Thakur (Central University of Panjab, Bathinda), spoke on the RNA, its types, isolation, and application in the COVID 19 pandemic. Prof. Thakur also explained various methods of RNA quantification, precautions and troubleshooting. The talk was followed by an extensive interactive session with the participants.

The day concluded with a hands-on training program on RNA isolation, quality, and quantity estimation.
