Professor Ram Chand Paul National Symposium in virtual mode on “Emerging Chemical Sciences with Modern world”

 The Department of Chemistry, Panjab University, Chandigarh conducted Professor Ram Chand Paul National Symposium (RCPNS-2022) in virtual mode on “Emerging Chemical Sciences with Modern world” on March 11, 2022. The symposium was conducted on Google Meet. The Department of Chemistry, Panjab University, Chandigarh has been holding this symposium every year for the last 30 years. The symposium was named as Prof. Ram Chand Paul National Annual Symposium in the year 2005 in the fond memory of our worthy ex-Vice Chancellor Prof. R.C. Paul.

The symposium began on 11, 2022 at 10:00       A.M. with an inaugural function. Professor T. Govindaraju, Bioorganic Chemistry Laboratory, New Chemistry Unit and Chair, Education Technology Unit, JNCASR, Bengaluru, India was the Chief Guest and Keynote speaker. Welcome address and introduction to the symposium was presented by Prof. Sonal Singhal, Chairperson, Department of Chemistry and Dr. Aman Bhalla, Convener RCPNS-2022. The technical session comprised of invited talks, poster presentations and oral cum poster presentations (3-5 min) were presented by young researchers/budding researchers (who are pursuing/recently completed their Ph.D). The poster presentations and oral cum poster presentations provides opportunity to young researchers provides opportunity to young researchers expressing their views and research work. Six poster presentation and oral cum poster presentations have been awarded a cash prize of Rs. 500 each.

In various technical sessions number of eminent scientists from India and abroad delivered their lectures. Prof. Alakesh Bisai (Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata), Prof. Anil Kumar (Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani), Dr. Vijayender Bhalla (CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh), Dr. Uma Shankar (Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar), Dr. Ajeet Kaushik (Florida Polytechnic University, Lakeland, Florida, USA) gave the invited talks.

Delegates from various fields related to chemistry from different parts of the country attended the symposium.
