The 24-week training of 600 recruits from 16 states begins at Basic Training Centre, Bhanu

  • Trainees will be given 24 weeks rigorous training to make them physically and mentally strong

 Panchkula, February 11 :

The 24 week training of 600 recruits from 16 states, including 76 mahila /recruits of 168th non-GD Batch commenced at Basic Training Centre of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force, Bhanu, Panchkula .
 
Ishwar Singh Duhan, Inspector General, Basic Training Center, Indo-Tibetan Border Force was the chief guest at the opening ceremony. Sh. Rajesh Sharma, Deputy Inspector General welcomed the chief guest.  Sh. Vikrant Thapliyal Commandant and other officers were also present on this occasion.
 
These trainees will be given 24 weeks rigorous training on drill, weapon and map reading to make these trainees physically and mentally strong.  The non-GD new recruits are in the cadre of Clerk, Telecom, Water Carrier, Cook, Tailor, Cobbler, Barber, Washer man and Gardner etc. They play a vital role in the cadre strength of ITBP.  Apart from this training, special courses would also be conducted for these trainees in the coming time so that they can become proficient in their work.
 
Speaking on this occasion,  Ishwar Singh Duhan, Inspector General told the trainees that it is a matter of pride for them that they have joined  the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force which  is the best among all the forces.  He said that the Basic Training Centre, Bhanu is the best training centre with all necessary facilities like Drill Ground, PT Ground, Swimming Pool, Weapon Wing and Tank Wing, Short and Long Firing Range etc. He conveyed his best wishes to all the trainees and hoped that they would be largely benefitted from this training programme.
