Police Files, Chandigarh : – Five held for dealing for illegal trading of Remdesivir
‘Purnoor’ Korel, CHANDIGARH :
Operations Cell of Chandigarh Police has successfully arrested a group of persons involving in illegal dealing of Remdesivir medicine for selling it in local market in India at high rates. ASI Surjit Singh of Operations Cell along with police party while on patrolling received a secret information regarding some illegal dealing of Medicine Remdesivir which is used in corona disease is in process at Hotel Sec 17 Chd ; On this ASI Surjit Singh along with police party raided there and apprehended 05 persons, red handed namely :-
- Abhishek PV S/o Palangattu Veetil Diva Karan R/O Kerala Age 21 Yrs
- Susheel Kumar S/o Ram Saran, Kalka ji, South Delhi
- Parbhat Tyagi S/o Chandra Raj Singh Tyagi R/O Bhopal MP
- Philip Jacob Auxilium Pala of Kerala
- KP Francis S/o P T Paulose R/o Kerala
All were dealing in sale/purchase of Remdesivir medicine, without any permit or license. After facts’ verification it was found that Abhishek PV and Susheel Kumar, Parbhat Tyagi , KP Francis and Philip Jacob were making a fraud/illegal deal of medicine without any permit or license and committing an offence under section 420, 120B IPC and Section 7 of EC Act 1955 and Section 27 of Drugs and cosmetics act 1940.
A raid was conducted at said medicine manufacturer plant at Baddi regarding which medicine they were dealing and 3000 injection of Remdesivir meant for supply in local market here in India without any prior permission or approval were seized in the presence of Local Drug Inspector. Glaring irregularities were found in the physical verification of stock pointing towards diversion of said medicine towards local market after the ban on export by govt. Company director Gaurav Chawla R/o Zirakpur was also arrested. Further investigation is going on. A Special Investigation team has been constituted for the detailed Investigation.
