One arrested for possessing illicit liquor

          Chandigarh Police arrested Akshay Kumar R/o # 57, Village Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh and recovered 4 boxes (containing 48 bottles) of whiskey from his possession near Wooden Saw, Village Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh on 18.01.2021. A case FIR No. 08, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Maulijagran, Chandigarh. He was later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling

Chandigarh Police arrested Bablu, Nanhe Saah, Kamal Singh and Jarif all resident of BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh while they were gambling at BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh on 18.01.2020. Total cash Rs. 7120/- was recovered from their possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 16, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

A lady resident of Sector 31, Panchkula (HR) reported that unknown person occupant of motorcycle No. CH04L-9452 snatched away complainant’s purse containing mobile phone and cash Rs. 2500/- near H.No. 3459, Sector-27-D, Chandigarh on 18.01.2021. A case FIR No. 15, U/S 379A IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Vikarm R/o # 1175-A, Sector-20B, Chandigarh reported that two unknown persons occupants of motorcycle No. PB65AX—- snatched away complainant’s mobile phone at backside of PB and HR Civil Secretariat, Sector 1, Chandigarh on 18.01.2021. A case FIR No. 06, U/S 379A IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

          A case FIR No. 05, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh on the statement of Varun Kumar Gupta R/o # 6/24, Shyam Colony, Sehatpur, Faridabad (HR) against driver of car No. HP-83-0243 namely Ankush Dhiman R/o # 136 Ward No. 7, Tehsil Complex, Bhrampuri, Distt. Hamirpur (HP) who hit to complainant’s car No. HR-51BZ-2909 at Press Light Point, Chandigarh on 17.01.2021. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Manish Kumar Gupta R/o # 387, Sector-38A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away 2 inverter batteries from his house on the night intervening 17/18-01.2021. A case FIR No. 15, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others resident of Distt. Jind, Haryana harassed the complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 05, U/S 498A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
