Seven persons arrested for consuming liquor at public place

Chandigarh Police arrested Kanwarpal Singh R/o # 3335/B, New Sunny Enclave, Sector-125, near Jalvayu Vihar Tower, Kharar, SAS Nagar, Mohali (PB) and Gagandeep Singh Chauhan R/o # 3372, Sector-71, Distt. Mohali (PB) while consuming liquor at parking area, Inner Market, Sector-8, Chandigarh on 01.01.2021. A case FIR No. 01, U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Both were later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Pawal Kumar Shoti R/o VPO Laroya, Jalandhar Rural, (PB) while consuming liquor at parking area near Tehal Singh Chicken Shop, Sector-22/B Chandigarh on 01.01.2021. A case FIR No. 01, U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. He was later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Anil Kumar R/o # 383/7, Village Kajheri, Chandigarh while consuming liquor near Kaka Welding Shop, Kajheri, Chandigarh on 01.01.2021. A case FIR No. 01, U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. He was later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Kishan Singh R/o # 139/2, Village Palsora, Chandigarh, Bal Kishan R/o # 2085, Sector-24/C, Chandigarh and Balwinder Singh R/o # 137/2, Village Palsora, Chandigarh while consuming liquor near Wine Shop, Palsora, Chandigarh on 01.01.2021. A case FIR No. 02, U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. They were later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Two arrested for possessing illicit liquor

          Chandigarh Police arrested Shinder R/o # 6603/B, Sector-56, Chandigarh and recovered 90 quarters of country liquor from his possession near # 6600, Sector-56, Chandigarh on 31.12.2020. A case FIR No. 01, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. He was later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

          Chandigarh Police arrested Amit Kumar R/o # 1027, DMC, Chandigarh and recovered 25 quarters of country liquor from his possession near Public Toilet, Shahpur, Sector-38/W, Chandigarh on 01.01.2021. A case FIR No. 01, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. He was later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Suraj R/o # 178, NIC, Mani Majra, Chandigarh while playing satta at Open Ground near Sharma Karyana Store, New Indira Colony, Mani Majra, Chandigarh on 01.01.2021. Total cash Rs. 1250/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 01, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against violation of orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh

A case FIR No. 01, U/S 188, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh against the owner namely Mr. Divya Malik and manager namely Mr. Manish and other staff namely Mr. Animesh Manna, Mr. Shivam Pathak and Mr. Parkash Negi who served hukka to customers at Veda Café, SCO No. 27, Sector-26, Chandigarh on 01.01.2021 and violated the orders of District Magistrate, UT, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for theft

Sandeep Kumar R/o # 1925, Sector-22/B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person committed theft at complainant’s house and stole away 1 diamond challa, 1 stone ring, 1 gold ring, 1 gold chain and cash RS. 10,000/- from almirah on 31.12.2020. Later one person namely Gaurav R/o # 920, Ph-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh age about 25 years has been arrested in this case. A case FIR No. 02, U/S 380, 411 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

A girl resident of Distt. Sonipat (HR) reported that unknown person stolen complainant’s I-phone from her pocket of jacket at counter of Sukhna Lake Restaurant, Chandigarh on 01.01.2021. A case FIR No. 02, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
