One arrested for possessing illicit liquor

          Chandigarh Police arrested Surjit Singh R/o # 1101, Ph-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh and recovered 12 Bottles of country liquor from his possession at back side of Plot No. 01, Ph-1, Ind. Area, Chandigarh on 29.12.2020. A case FIR No. 242, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. He was later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling

Chandigarh Police arrested Shashi Kant Kumar R/o Jhuggi No. 263, Block-K, Colony No. 4, Chandigarh while playing satta near Sabji Mandi, Colony No.4, Chandigarh on 29.12.2020. Total cash Rs. 12,520/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 225, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Mohamed Nazim R/o # 234, Sector-41, Village Buterla, Chandigarh while playing satta near # 525, Sector-56, Chandigarh on 29.12.2020. Total cash Rs. 1700/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 402, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against violation of orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh

A case FIR No. 116, U/S 188, 270 IPC & Section 58 of Disaster Management Act 2005 has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh against owner Sumesh Gagneja R/o # 1466, Progressive Society, Sector-50, Chandigarh who served hukka to customers at basement of Pipe and Barrel Bar, SCO No. 156-157, Sector-9/C, Chandigarh on 29.12.2020 and violated the orders of District Magistrate, UT, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 209, U/S 188, 270, 120B IPC & Section 58 of Disaster Management Act 2005 has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh against owner Naresh Bhandhari R/o # 1453/2, Sector-29/B, Chandigarh and Sushant Nagpal R/o # 116, Sector-40/A, Chandigarh who served hukka to customers at Poison Bar at SCO No. 45-46-47, 3^rd floor, Sector-17A, Chandigarh on 30.12.2020 and violated the orders of District Magistrate, UT, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Parvesh Gandhi R/o # 1416/22, Ph-11, Mohali (PB) reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Esteem car No. CH-03Z-2424 parked near H.No. 389, Sector-32/A, Chandigarh on the night intervening 25/26-12-2020. A case FIR No. 245, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
