05 persons arrested while consuming liquor at public place

          In a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, total 05 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 08 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The details of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-I/A=01 case, PS-34=01, PS-39=02 cases and PS-Maloya= 1 case .

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor 

Chandigarh Police arrested Jitender Singh resident of Distt. Aligarh, (UP), (Age 30 years) and recovered 45 quarters of country made liquor from his possession near Village Dariya on 27.10.2020. A case FIR No. 198, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

          Chandigarh Police arrested Ram Lakhan R/o # 426, NIC, Manimajra, Chandigarh while he was playing satta near Booth No. 28, NIC, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 27.10.2020. Total cash Rs. 1350/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 196, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

Satwinder Singh R/o # 313, Mamta Enclave, Dhakauli, (PB), reported that unknown person who snatched away complainant’s gold chain from near Motor Market, Sector 45, Chandigarh on 27.10.2020. A case FIR No. 210, U/S 379A, 356 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Ajay Kumar R/o # 47, village Hallo Marjra, Chandigarh, reported that unknown person occupant of Activa who snatched away complainant’s mobile phone from near Plot No. 59, Phase-2, Ind Area, Chandigarh on 27.10.2020. A case FIR No. 205, U/S 379A, 356 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Chandigarh reported that unknown person who snatched away complainant’s mobile phone alongwith cash Rs.500/-, near Govt. School, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 27.10.2020. A case FIR No. 162, U/S 379A, 356 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 197 U/S 406, 420, 379, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of Santosh Kumar R/o # 175, Block-L, Colony No.4, Chandigarh against  Rakesh Kumar Garg R/o # 498/6, Attari Colony, Sahabad, Kurukshetra (HR), who  cheated complainant  for selling the Car. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 327 U/S 420 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of a girl resident of Chandigarh against unknown person who called from mobile No. 7381625284 and cheated cash Rs. 5000/- through online. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 328 U/S 420, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint Ashu R/o # 191/1, Sector-41 Chandigarh against unknown person who cheated Rs. 20,100/- from complainant bank account on the pretext of offering job at Naukri.com. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 329 U/S 420 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint Ankur Mujral R/o # 1101, 1st floor, Sector-37-B, Chandigarh against unknown person who cheated Rs. 1900/- complainant bank account on the pretext of purchase by using QR code of PYTM. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 331 U/S 420, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint Sarabjit Singh R/o # 154, Village Palsora, Chandigarh against unknown person who cheated Rs. 85,856/- to complainant on the pretext of offering job. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 332 U/S 420, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint Ankit Bansal R/o # 1134, Sector-37B, Chandigarh against unknown person who cheated Rs. 60,000/- to complainant on the pretext of purchasing sofa at OLX. Investigation of the case is in progress.
