08 persons arrested while consuming liquor at public place

          In a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, total 08 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 08 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The details of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-17=01 case, PS-26=01, PS-IA=01 case, PS-IT park = 01 case, PS-34= 02 cases and PS-39= 2 cases .

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor 

Chandigarh Police arrested Harinder Singh R/o # 2677/2, Sector-49/C, Chandigarh (Age 20 years) and recovered total 36 bottles (24 bottles of Kings Gold Special Whiskey 750 ML each and 12 bottles of Oak Vat Whiskey 750 ML each) from main road, Mauli Complex on 26.10.2020. A case FIR No. 193, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Maulijagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Quarrel

Mohd Raja R/o # Vill Tikori Distt. Nawada, Bihar, reported Rajesh Kumar R/o # 231/2, Small flats Maloya, Chandigarh who stabbed complainant with knife at # 231/2 Small flats, Maloya, Chandigarh on 26.10.2020. Complainant got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 151 U/S 326 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
