PROCLAIMED OFFENDER since 10 years namely Gurpreet Singh @ Sunny arrested by Operations Cell.

Chandigarh:

On 09.09.2020, a secret information was received that a Proclaimed Offender of two cases namely Gurpreet Singh @ Sunny S/o Jaspal Singh, r/o # 66A, Dayal Bagh, PS-Mahesh Nagar, Ambala, Hr., Age 37 years, who is accused of Case FIR No.46 Dated 06.11.2006 U/S 356, 379, 411 IPC, P.S-03, Chandigarh & FIR No.64 dated 10.02.2006, U/s 356, 379, 411 IPC, PS-17, Chandigarh, is now residing at # 36, Jarnail Enclave, Phase II, Zirakpur and declared PO on 18.02.2009 & 26.02.2011 respectively.

                After receiving this information, a police party of Operations Cell was deputed under the supervision of Inspector Ranjeet Singh, I/C Operations Cell and the close guidance of Smt. Rashmi Sharma Yadav, DANIPS, DSP Operations, headed by HC Lakhwinder Singh 3376/CP, HC Jaswinder Kumar No.832/CP and Ct. Amandeep, No.4687/CP to apprehend the said accused. At about 01.45 PM, Police party arrested the accused Gurpreet Singh @ Sunny from his present residence i.e. at # 36, Jarnail Enclave, Phase II, Zirakpur.

Brief of Cases:-

1. FIR No.46 Dated 06.11.2006 U/S 356, 379, 411 IPC, P.S-03, Chandigarh

                The above said case was registered on the complaint of Smt. Karamjit Kaur w/o Sh. Narinder Pal Singh, R/o # 543, Sector-7-B, Chandigarh, in which he stated on dated 06.04.2006, she was going to market sector-8 for purchasing medicine, while she reached in front of Kothi No.505, Sector-8, Chandigarh, two boys on scooter came from backside and snatched her purse containing, 6 ATM Cards, cash Rs.770/-, Driving licence, PAN Card, Scooter RC No CH01-L-9908. The above case was registered against the unknown persons who are on Scooter No.HR03-A-0835. Accused Gurpreet Singh @ Sunny was arrested in this case and release on bail. After bail Gurpreet Singh @ Sunny was absconded since 2010 and declared PO on 21.08.2010 by the Hon’ble Court of Sh. Ranjeev Kumar, JMIC, UT Chandigarh .

• FIR No.64 dated 10.02.2006, U/s 356, 379, 411 IPC, PS-17, Chandigarh.

The above said case was registered on the complaint of Smt. Saroj Uppal w/o Sh. Ramesh Uppal, R/o # 1487, Sector-22-B, Chandigarh, in which she stated on dated 06.04.2006, she was going to sector-35 on Rickshaw for some work, when she reached in front of # No.2572, Sector-22, Chandigarh, two hindu boys came on a scooter and the boy sitting on pillion seat snatched her purse containing, cash Rs.8,000/10,000/-, house keys and important doucments. The above case was registered against the unknown persons. Further accused Gurpreet Singh @ Sunny was arrested in this case and release on bail. After bail Gurpreet Singh @ Sunny was absconded since 2010 and declared PO on 26.02.2011 by the Hon’ble Court of Sh. J. S. Sidhu, CJM, UT Chandigarh.

        Besides these two cases, Gurpreet Singh @ Sunny is also accused in case FIR No. 64 dated 06.04.2007, U/s 387, 34 IPC, PS-Mahesh Nagar, Ambala. This case was registered on the complaint of Sh. Sunil Sethi S/o Manas Ram, R/o # 20,Dayal Bagh, Ambala Cant., Hr., who stated that he is a property dealer in Ambala and on dated 05.04.2007, Gurpreet Singh @ Sunny alongwith his associated demanded ransom of Rs.50,000/-, and threaten him that if he will not given money to them, they will harm to his family. Further Gurpreet Singh @ Sunny and his associates were arrested by the Ambala Police. Accused Gurpreet Singh @ Sunny was convicted on dated 11.11.2010 in this case.

                Today, i.e. on 10.09.2020, accused Gurpreet Singh @ Sunny have been produced in the concerned Hon’ble Court and was sent to 14 days Judicial Custody.
