One person arrested for disobeying orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh

A case FIR No. 146, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh against Vinod R/o # 731/29, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh who was arrested while he opened his shop situated in his house during lockdown hours on 19.08.2020. He disobeyed orders of the DM, UT, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

 One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Shiva @ Sheru R/o # 1763, DBC, Sector-25, Chandigarh (age 38 years) and recovered 24 injections of Buprenorphine & pheniramine maleate drugs and 5.60 gm from his possession, near Govt. Model High School, UIET Campus, Sector-25, Chandigarh on 19.08.2020. A case FIR No. 108, U/S 21, 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Two persons arrested for consuming liquor at public place

Chandigarh Police arrested Laxman Kumar R/o # 83, Block-K, Colony No. 4, Chandigarh while he was consuming liquor at a public place near Poultry Farm Chowk, Chandigarh on 19.08.2020. A case FIR No. 164, U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Subhash Sharki R/o # 316, Village Behlana, Chandigarh while he was consuming liquor at a public place near Poultry Farm Chowk, Chandigarh on 19.08.2020. A case FIR No. 166, U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Ashok Chandak R/o # 674, Sector-11, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away his bicycle from the parking of Rose Garden, Sector-16, Chandigarh on 17.08.2020. A case FIR No. 149, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh Investigation of the case is in progress.

Rakesh Kumar R/o # 1105, Sector-28B, Chandigarh, reported that unknown person stole away battery from his zen car No. PB07-Q-3155 and also stolen other 4 batteries of cars belong to his neighbor on night intervening 18/19.08.2020. A case FIR No. 145, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 130, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh on the statement of Matloob R/o # 2019, NIC, Manimajra, Chandigarh who reported that driver of Truck No. PB65AK5247 namely Jaswinder Singh sped away after hitting a pedestrian namely Sandeep @ Punjabi R/o NIC, Manimajra, Chandigarh near Shop no. 365, Motor Market, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 15.08.2020. Pedestrian person got injured and was admitted to PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. 

A case FIR No. 260, U/S 279, 337, 338 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of a girl R/o Mohali (PB) who alleged that driver of M/Cycle No. CH01BB-5622 sped away after hitting the complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH01BR1693 near Market, Sector-37, Chandigarh on 18.08.2020. Complainant got injured and admitted in GMSH-16 and later referred to PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. 

Cheating

Manjit Sharma R/o # 1542/7, Mori Gate, Manimajra, Chandigarh alleged that a person namely Rahul called to the complainant and cheated Rs. 35,750/- from complainant regarding providing loan of Rs. 2 lakh. A case FIR No. 131, U/S 406, 419, 420, 120B IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft & Extortion

A case FIR No. 163, U/S 380, 384, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of a person resident of Chandigarh who alleged that Joga Singh and Gurmukh Singh R/o Ludhiana, PB stolen documents of complainant i.e. passport, USA green card, residence proof, DL etc from room of Naamdhari Gurudwara, Sector 30/B, Chandigarh and demanded extortion money to return them. They took gold ornaments and Rs. 1.5 lakh from complainant against returning of above documents. Alleged person namely Joga Singh R/o Village Purj Pabhat, Tehsil Samrala, P.S Maacchiwada, Ludhiana, PB (Age 42 years) has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Burglary

Mohit Sharma R/o # 2208, Aerocity, Block-C, Sector 82, Mohali, (PB) reported that unknown person stole away 6 big steel vessels, one mobile phone, two commercial cylinders from plot No. 182/46, Ph-1, Ind. Area after breaking locks on night intervening 18/19-08-2020. A case FIR No. 165, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Ganpat Lal Thakkar R/o # 2529, Sector 50C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away 6 bundles of Finolex Electric Wires, some tools and three cameras after breaking the window grill of Plot No. 1043/B, HPG Systems, Phase-2, Ind. Area (PB) on the night intervening 18/19-08-2020. A case FIR No. 173, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Robbery

A case FIR No. 163, U/S 392 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Harminder Singh R/o # 41, Village Bar Majra, Mohali (PB) who reported that unknown person robbed away complainant’s Fortuner car No. CH01-BV-0361 on gun point from complainant’s friend near Burger King, SCO No. 455-456, Sector 35A, Chandigarh on 18.08.2020. Investigation of the case is in progress.
