Faculty Training Programme at PU

The University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab University is organizing a one-week faculty training school on “Targeting New Echelons in Drug Discovery and Analysis” from 27 January to 1 February 2020 under the initiative of UGC Networking Resource Centre. 20 selected faculty participants representing 14 states across the country will attend the course.
Present training course has been planned to expose the participants to various contemporary issues concerning the drug discovery process through stimulating workshops and lectures from leading scientists and academicians who have contributed significantly in their respective domains. This course will provide an excellent platform to budding researchers to gain insight into the scope, applications and limitations of various synthetic and analytical techniques, which will be useful for them in solving their future research problems. The course offers a broad range of high quality training resources on topics related to drug design, synthetic medicinal chemistry, stereochemistry and pharmaceutical analytical techniques.
Professor Tilak Raj Bhardwaj, Vice Chancellor and Professor & Dean, Pharmacy and Emerging Sciences, Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technologies, Himachal Pradesh, will inaugurate the function and deliver the Key Note Address on “Novel Drug Discoveries and Polymer-Linked Prodrugs for Colon Cancer.”
Chairperson of the Institute, Professor Kanwaljit Chopra is the Programme Coordinator of UGC-NRC Programme. Professor Alka Bali (UIPS) will be the Coordinator of the Course, while Dr Neelima Dhingra (UIPS) will be the Joint Coordinator.
Eminent speakers from leading pharmaceutical institutes all over India viz. Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technologies, Himachal Pradesh; NIPER, Mohali; Bombay College of Pharmacy, Mumbai; Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow; etc. alongwith in house faculty of Panjab University.
