A One Day Workshop on “Plastic Tide
Turner Challenge” in partnership with WWF-India & UN Environment was
organised in University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University,
here today by Department of Community Education & Disability Studies, PU,
Chandigarh in collaboration with State Legal Services Authority (SLSA), U.T.
Chandigarh & the Legal Aid Society, UILS, PU.
The workshop was aimed on the
cutting on our use of single-use disposable plastic also talked about the
negative and disastrous effects of use of plastic in the long run.
The workshop was inaugurated by the
tremendous speeches given by the Chief Guests Shri Debendra Dalai, Director,
Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration; Shri Mahavir Singh,
Additional District and Sessions Judge and Member Secretary, SLSA, Chandigarh;
Dr. Dazy Zarabi, Chairperson, Department of Community Education and Disability
Studies, PU; and Shri Pramod Sharma, Founder Coordinator YUVSATTA.
It witnessed a great zeal of
participation of nearly 200 students who were being mentored by Ms. Ambreen
Khan, manager, WWF. The students were also made aware of the correct way of
disposing the single-use plastic. Overall it was an enriching and fruitful
experience for the students.
