08 persons arrested while consuming liquor at public place

          In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out in different parts of the city. Under this drive total 08 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 08 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS=11-02 cases, PS-17 = 01 case, PS-IT Park=01, PS-34=01, PS-49=02 cases & PS-36=1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Dowry

A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband and others resident of Distt. Mohali, PB., harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 121, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 118, U/S 420, 120-B IPC and 66 C & D IT Act-2000 has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh on the statement of Pawan Kumar & others R/o 2164/B, Block No.7, CHB flats, Sec-63, Chandigarh against unknown person, who cheated complainant’s cash Rs. 3.30 lakh by making fake whatsapp ID in the name of his friend namely R.D. Verma. Investigation of case is in progress.

Snatching

A case FIR No. 153, U/S 379, 356, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Manimajra, Chandigarh who reported that two unknown persons on black motor cycle snatched away complainant’s gold chain with locket near Teji traders shop, Shanti Nagar, MM, Chandigarh on 20.09.2019. Investigation of the case is in progress.
