State level meeting held to discuss preparatory arrangements for conduct of census in 2021

Chandigarh, 4^th September, 2019: A State level meeting took place between Sh. Vivek Joshi, IAS, Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India and Sh. Manoj Parida, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh to discuss preparatory arrangements for conduct of census in 2021.  Sh. Abhishek Jain, IAS, Director, Census Operations & Citizen Registration, Chandigarh, Ms. Prerna Puri, IAS, Director, Directorate of Census Operations, Haryana, Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary Home, UT, Chandigarh & Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, UT, Chandigarh also attended the meeting.

          The Census is proposed to be completed in two phases by March, 2021.  The Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India expressed satisfaction at the pre-test being conducted by Chandigarh Administration in Manimajra and Kaimbwala.  All citizens have been requested to cooperate.
