14 persons arrested while consuming liquor at public place under special drive
In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out in different parts of the city. Under this drive total 12 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 14 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS=3-01, PS-19= 01 cases, PS-26=02 cases, PS-I/A = 02 cases, PS-IT Park = 04 cases and PS=36-02 case.
This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.
One arrested for possessing illegal liquor
Chandigarh Police arrested Ajay R/o # 143, Milk Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh, while he was illegally possessing 45 quarter of Country made liquor near # 4672, Sector-38-W, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 125, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Later accused released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested under NDPS Act
Chandigarh Police arrested Mukesh R/o # 473, DMC, Chandigarh near Small Chowk, Sector-38-West, Chandigarh and recovered 24 Injections (12 Pheniramine Maleate and 12 Buprenorphine drugs) from his possession. A case FIR No.124, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Action against violation of orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh
A case FIR No. 211, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-I/A, Chandigarh against Sourabh Taneja R/o #123, Panch Sheel, N-Block, New Delhi and Mohan Singh R/o # 232/2, Peepli Wala Town, MM, Chandigarh,, who did not given information of servant of his Shop No. 312-A, 3rd floor, Elante Mall, Phase-1, Ind. Area, Chandigarh to local police. Accused Mohan Singh arrested and later bailed out.
A case FIR No. 147, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh against Dharam Singh R/o # 2, Village Maulijagran, Chandigarh, who rented out his residence but did not given information of tenant to the local Police. Accused arrested and later bailed out.
A case FIR No. 148, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh against Shish Pal R/o # 29, Village Maulijagran, Chandigarh, who rented out his residence but did not given information of tenant to the local Police. Accused arrested and later bailed out.
A case FIR No. 149, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh against Gurmit Singh R/o # 27, Village Maulijagran, Chandigarh, who rented out his residence but did not given information of tenant to the local Police. Accused arrested and later bailed out.
Deterred public servant while discharging govt. duty
A case FIR No. 271, U/S 332 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh against unknown driver of Maruti car No. CH03U6457who hit and sped away to HC Raj Kumar of Traffic Staff, while discharging Govt. Duty at Sector 40-41/54-55 Chowk, Chandigarh. Complainant got injuries and admitted in GH-16, Chd. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Accident
A case FIR No. 161, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of a girl resident of Chandigarh against Deepak R/o # 729, Barh Majra colony, Near Dara Studio, Phase-6, Mohali who was driving Auto No. PB-65AK-5934 recklessly and hit to car No. CH01AH4068 at PEC light point on 10.08.2019. Resultantly Passenger (Complainant) of the auto got injuries. Accused arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 150, U/S 506, 325, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Maulijagran, Chandigarh on the complaint of Dharmabir singh # 3661, Mouli complex, Chandigarh against Neeraj Kumar & Sachin both resident of # 3662, Mouli Complex, Chandigarh and Rakesh R/o # 3665, Mouli Complex, Chandigarh, all they beaten/threatened to complainant near his residence on 10.08.2019. All accused arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.
