10 persons arrested while consuming liquor at public place under special drive

          In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out in different parts of the city. Under this drive total 10 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 09 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-IA= 03 cases, PS-MJ = 01 case, PS-I.T. Park = 01 case, PS-34 = 01 case, PS-36 = 02 cases, PS-49 = 01 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

          Chandigarh Police arrested Manoj R/o # 857, DMC, Chandigarh while he was illegally possessing 6 bottles at road near Govt.School, Sec-38W, Chandigarh on 03.08.2019. A case FIR No. 115, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Johny Kumar R/o # 3000, DMC, Chandigarh from near Rally Ground, Sector 25, Chandigarh and recovered 20 injections of Buprenorphene and Phenramine Maletate drugs from his possession on 03.08.2019. A case FIR No. 152 U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against obstructing public way

A case FIR No. 244, U/S 283 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh against Ram Kumar Jaiswal R/o # 5730, Sec 56,Palsora, Chandigarh who was arrested while he was obstructing public way with Auto No. CH01TB-8905 at diving road, Sector-17/22, Chandigarh on 03.08.2019. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 245, U/S 283 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh against Virender Kumar Verma R/o # 172, Dadu Majra, Chandigarh who was arrested while he was obstructing public way with Auto No. PB65AT-2673 at diving road, Sector-17/22, Chandigarh on 03.08.2019. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 246, U/S 283 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh against Rinku R/o # 2268/1, Sec 40A, Chandigarhwho was arrested while he was obstructing public way with Auto No. PB65AH-4634 near Kiran Cinema, Sector-22, Chandigarh on 03.08.2019. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Distt-Jhajjar (HR) harassed complainant to bring dowry. A case FIR No. 92, U/S 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others resident of Kharrar, Mohali (PB) harassed complainant to bring dowry. A case FIR No. 93, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Snatching

Manjit Singh R/o Village-Bahu Akbar Pur, Distt. Rohtak, (HR) reported that 3 unknown persons on motor cycle taken his phone for making phone call later they sped away after snatched complainant’s mobile phone near Petrol Pump, Sector-28, Chandigarh on 02.08.2019. A case FIR No. 171, U/S 379, 356 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sec-44D, Chandigarh reported that unknown person on motor cycle sped away after snatched complainant’s purse containing cash Rs. 8,000/-, ATM card and documents near her house on 03.08.2019. A case FIR No. 200, U/S 379, 356 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
