Four arrested for consuming liquor at public place

Four different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur & PS-I.T Park, Chandigarh against four persons who were arrested while consuming liquor at public place on 28.07.2019.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Gurjant Singh R/o village- Katrali, Tehsil- Morinda, Distt.-Ropar, Punjab from near Radhaswami Satsang Bhawan, Maloya, Chandigarh and recovered 30 kg Poppy Husk from his possession on 27.07.2019. A case FIR No. 107 U/S 15 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

          Chandigarh Police arrested Sandeep R/o # 718/1, BDC, Sector- 26, Chandigarh, Ashok R/o # 6579, Sector-56, Chandigarh and Sunil Kumar R/o # 717/8, BDC, Sector- 26, Chandigarh from near Govt. Model School, Phase-1, BDC, Sector- 26, Chandigarh on 28.07.2019. Total cash Rs. 3,850/- was recovered from their possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 169, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Later they were released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Burglary

Satish Sharma R/o Sanatan Dharam Panch Mukhi, Hanuman Mandir, Sector- 19/A, Chandigarh reported that 03 unknown boys stolen away cash box containing cash Rs. 4,000/5,000/- from Sanatan Dharam, Panch Mukhi, Hanuman Mandir, Sector-19/A, Chandigarh during night intervening 27/28.07.2019. A case FIR No. 99, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Attempt to murder

A case FIR No. 197, U/S 307, 506, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Indst. Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of Joginder Singh R/o # 479/9, village- Daria, Chandigarh who alleged that Rajpal and Yusuf R/o # 479/9, village- Daria, Chandigarh who attacked on complainant’s with sharp weapon and baseball bat at his residence on 28.07.2019. Complainant’s got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Both accused namely Rajpal (age- 29 yrs) and Yusuf (age- 35 yrs) have been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

A lady resident of Bawana, Delhi reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s laptop from Hotel City Heart, Sector- 17, Chandigarh on night intervening 27/28.07.2019. A case FIR No. 236, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Ajay Gupta R/o # 1783, Nirwana Complex Society, Sector- 49/B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person ran away after stealing complainant’s laptop from Counter of M/C Gupta Electronics, SCO No. 2922, Sector-22C, Chandigarh on 28.07.2019. A case FIR No. 237, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector- 40/A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s son’s Hero bicycle from Sector- 40/D, Opposite Mandi on 28.07.2019. A case FIR No. 245, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Missing/Abduction

A person resident of Mauli Complex, Chandigarh reported that his son age about 14 years have been missing from complainant’s residence since 27.07.2019. A case FIR No. 137, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
