10 persons arrested while consuming liquor at public place under special drive

          In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out in different parts of the city. Under this drive total 10 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 10 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS- 19= 01 case, PS-26= 03 cases, PS-Indst. Area= 03 cases, PS- Manimajra= 01 case, PS- Mauli Jagran= 01 case, PS- 34 = 01 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One juvenile apprehended with fake number plate on stolen Activa Scooter

Chandigarh Police apprehended a juvenile at naka from near under bridge Sector- 11/15, Sector- 15 side while he was using fake Registration number CH-01BP-7621 on stolen Activa Scooter whereas its original number is CH-01BP-7921. In this regard, a case FIR No. 134, U/S 473, 411 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Juvenile sent to Juvenile Home, Sector- 25, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. 

Cheating

Anita Devi R/o # 19, Sector- 15/A, Chandigarh alleged that unknown person has done online transaction of Rs. 21,870/- with Bhim app from complainant’s account on 19.01.2019. A case FIR No. 135, U/S 420 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. This case has been registered on Public window complaint. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Harinderjit Singh Aujala R/o # 2167/21, Sector- 38/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Activa scooter No. CH-01BP-7921 while parked near his residence on night intervening 08/09.07.2019. A case FIR No. 206, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 93, U/S 279, 337 added 304-A IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh on the statement of Ravi R/o Room No. 5, Village- Jagatpura Kandala, Distt.- Mohali, Punjab who alleged that driver of truck No. PB-65AN-0251 namely Gurcharan Singh R/o village- Tirapur, Tehsil- Kharar, Distt.- Mohali, Punjab hit to Tata 207 No. PB-11AF-8629 driven by complainant’s brother Sarvesh R/o R/o Room No. 5, Village- Jagatpura kandala, Distt.- Mohali, Punjab on 09.07.2019. Complainant’s brother namely Sarvesh got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh. Later he died during treatment. Alleged person namely Gurcharan Singh arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
