29 persons arrested while consuming liquor at public place under special drive

          In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out in different parts of the city. Under this drive total 29 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 29 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-PS-03= 01 case, PS-11= 02 cases, PS- 17= 02 case, PS-Sarangpur= 04 cases, PS-19= 01 case, PS-Indst. Area= 04 cases, PS- Manimajra= 01 case, PS-I.T Park= 03 cases, PS- Mauli Jagran= 02 cases, PS-31= 01 case, PS-34 = 01 case, PS-36 = 02 cases, PS-39= 04 cases, PS- Maloya = 01 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Theft

Ajit Kumar R/o # 32, village- Hallo Majra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s E-Rickshaw No. PB-65TC-1852 while parked near #, Village- Hallo Majra, Chandigarh on 03.07.2019. A case FIR No. 191, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

 Cheating

Mahatama Rajesh R/o # 230, Sector- 25/D, Chandigarh alleged that Ravinder Singh R/o # 707, Ranjit Nagar, Ward No. 11, Kharar, Distt.- Mohali, Punjab who sold House No. 2426, Sector- 25/D, Chandigarh to complainant for Rs. 7,00,000/- in the year 2013. But he did not gave the possession to complainant and nor returned his money. A case FIR No. 126, U/S 420 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 187 U/s 420, 467, 468, 471, 120/B IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh on the complaint of Kanchan Malik, Dy. General Manager, Axis Bank, Sector- 9, Chandigarh FIR against Satya Prakash Gupta M/s Sunrise Facilitators Pvt. Ltd., 2235/1, PWT, 2nd floor, Manimajra, Chandigarh and other branch officials of Axis Bank, Sector 9/C, Chandigarh regarding producing fake/forged documents and get encashed Rs. 9,48,000/- (approx). Ordnance Cable Factory, Chandigarh (a unit of Ministry of Defence, Department of Defence Production) placed Supply order on M/s Sunrise Facilitators Pvt. Ltd.,2235/1, Pipliwala Town, 2nd Floor, Manimajra Chandigarh for providing of manpower services to Ordnance Cable Factory, Chandigarh. As per the terms conditions of supply orders M/s Sunrise Facilitators Pvt Ltd deposited FDR No. 912040065256068 for Rs. 632500/-, FDR No. 916040018399664 for Rs 210330/- and FDR No 917040033525489 for Rs. 105200/-as Performance Security Deposit. The original FDRs are in possession of Ordnance Cable Factory, Chandigarh. Accordingly, State Bank of India, Sector-30, Chandigarh was intimated to credit the amount in the OCFC account. SBI sector-30, Chandigarh intimated that FDRs have already been paid by Axis Bank to the Firm thus cannot be credited to OCFC. Subsequently, OCFC requested Axis bank to forward the pay authority letter under which Axis Bank has paid the subject FDRs while the original FDRs are in possession of OCFC. OCFC officers visited Axis Bank, Sector 9 C, Chandigarh. It has come to notice that FDRs bearing numbers 916040018399664, 917040033525489 have been paid on the basis of OCFC letter dated 07.07.2017. OCFC letter dated 07.07.2017, based on which Axis bank has released the FDRs to M/s Sunrise Facilitators Pvt. Ltd is a fraudulent/forged letter as the same has not been issued by OCFC and the signature of Shri Vikas Raizada, WM/OCFC appearing on this letter are forged by the firm. It has further come to notice that FDR No. 912040065256068 for Rs 632500/- has also been got encashed by M/s Sunrise Facilitators Pvt. Ltd. on the basis of OCFC letter purportedly issued by Smt Anubha Agarwal, WM/OCFC which actually is a forged letter. As per OCFC records, no such letter have been issued to Axis Bank and M/s Sunrise Facilitators Pvt. Ltd, Chandigarh. It transpires that Axis bank has helped M/s Sunrise Facilitators Pvt Ltd as it released the said FDRS without asking for original copies of the same and without verifying the authencity of OCFC letters. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 202 U/s 420 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh on the complaint through RLA, Chandigarh against Sandeep Monga R/o # 434, Block-A1, Sector- 44/A, Chandigarh who produced fake documents of his residence for registration of his Breeza car No. CH-01AJ-0023. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 203 U/s 420, 408, 467, 471 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh on the complaint through Labour Commissioner cum Secretary Board, PBM, 17 Bay, Sector- 17, Chandigarh against Varinder Singh, Pankaj Sharma, Mohinder Pal & Suraj Kumar all deployed in Punjab Building, Sector- 17, Chandigarh who embezzled the public money and misappropriated the same by using the official stamps of the department and utilizing the Board funds for their own benefits. The above persons changed the entries in the list prepared and finalized by the Board office and transferred huge sum of amount in their own accounts and their relatives. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 204 U/s 419, 420, 120/B IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sangeeta Dhillon R/o # 134/B, Housing Board Complex, Sector- 14, Distt.- Panchkula, Haryana against Ajay Patel, Washington DC, United States, America who cheated complainant’s cash Rs. 11,51,000/- on the pretext of releasing his one of the parcel from the port authority for custom clearance. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 174 U/s 420, 467, 468, 471, 120/B IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Mohanjit Kaur Sidhu R/o # 119, Sector- 9/B, Chandigarh against Vandana Sharma R/o # 658, 1st floor, Punjab & Sindh Society, Sector- 49, Chandigarh who prepared passport of her son Paramraj by submitting fake/forged documents. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Ravinder R/o # 565, Sector- 56, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s activa scooter No. CH-01BW-6458 while parked near Shivam Store, Super market, Gobindpura, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 05.07.2019. A case FIR No. 101, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Tejinder pal Singh R/o # 5239, MHC, Manimajra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s esteem car No. CH-03Y-0965 while parked near his residence on night intervening 02/03.07.2019. A case FIR No. 102, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Manimajra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s activa scooter No. CH-01AB-7845 while parked near HDFC Bank, Sector- 22/B, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 205, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

          A case FIR No. 146, U/S 279, 337, 304-A  IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the statement of Vinod Kumar R/o # 75, village- Kaimbwala, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of car No. HP-64A-6207 who hit to auto No. CH-78(T)-4258 at Sector- 7/8 dividing road, Chandigarh on 05.07.2019. Auto driver namely Prahalad Kumar R/o # 40, Village- Kaimbwala, Chandigarh and 07 other passengers got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. Later on one of the passenger namely Parmod Kumar (age- 25 years) R/o # 75, Village- Kansal, Punjab expired during treatment. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 145, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the statement of Tripta Gupta R/o # 2447, Sector- 23/C, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of car No. CH-01AM-6555 namely Jagdish Rai Makkar R/o # 3466, Sector- 37/D, Chandigarh who hit to complainant’s husband at Sector- 23/36 dividing road, Chandigarh on 05.07.2019. Complainant’s husband got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. Alleged person arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Burglary

Sumit Verma R/o # 3086, Ground floor, Sector- 44/D, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away gold ornaments from complainant’s residence on 01.07.2019. A case FIR No. 175, U/S 380, 454 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
